Located at the foot of Mount Moses, it was constructed by order of the Emperor Justinian between 527 and 565. It is built around what is thought to be Moses' Burning Bush, which has a chapel built atop it. Meet the Greek Orthodox Bishop and an American, Priest Justin who takes us on a private tour of the library which contains one of the largest and most important collection of illuminated manuscripts in the world (The Vatican has the largest). Then we mount camels for a trip of the valley to view Mt. Sinai and then its’ back to Sharm El Shiekh for a chat and a puff on a hookah pipe before returning to the ship.

My Patron Saint ( St Katherine of Alexandria) Such a very special tour am sure. An honor to share this time and meet especially the Bishop. Such a special monastery! The history is amazing!
