As if the NHS and the USA are the only two healthcare systems that exist in the entire world. Even if there was such a scheme going on, somehow countries like Canada, France, Germany, all utilize private organizations and have better outcomes than the NHS is able to produce
They keep bringing people here and do not tax the rich to pay a decent wage to work in the NHS. Then they say we need immigration to work in the NHS because we don’t have enough people to work in the NHS. The only reason we don’t have enough people working in the NHS is because the British will not work under such conditions. If you pay such bad money that the people can barely afford to live why would you want to work in such a place. We have too many people in Britain and not enough tax of companies like Amazon, British Gas, Google, Sky News etc.
"British would not work under the same conditions"... Do you realize that working for the NHS requires highly qualified jobs, like doctors and surgeons? Maybe you simply don't have enough qualified people there, due to high cost of University education (which is free in most continental Europe) 🤡🤡🤡🤡
I started working for the NHS some years ago. Out of my induction class , ALL the English people left. They don’t want to work as nurses or doctors for their country anymore, so we do the job they don’t want.
Let's be clear about this: We are seeing the seruptitious, incrimentsal but obvious move to NHS privitization. It wasn't expected to be as easy as selling off other National services, but it has, I am sure been gong on for decades. Eventually, the UK will have a US based 'insurance' based system of health care provision or a 2 tier dramtically scaled back health service.
Most doctors going abroad, whilst public think Dr's are overpaid- just because their suffering, doesn't mean the people looking after them should suffer, so they all go abroad, worsening the problem
(NHS) is a British national treasure and has been highly valued by the British public since its establishment in 1948. Like other healthcare organizations worldwide, the NHS has faced challenges over the last few decades and has survived most of these challenges. historically have been staffing retention, bureaucracy, lack of digital technology, and obstacles to sharing data for patient healthcare. These have changed significantly as the major challenges faced by NHS currently are the aging population, the need for digitalization of services, lack of resources or funding, increasing number of patients with complicated health needs, staff retention, and primary healthcare issues, issues with staff morale, communication break down, backlog in-clinic appointments and procedures worsened by COVID 19 pandemic. is equal and free healthcare at the point of need to everyone and anyone who needs it during an emergency. The NHS has looked after its patients with long-term illnesses better than most other healthcare organizations worldwide and has a very diversified workforce. COVID-19 also allowed NHS to adopt newer technology, resulting in adapting telecommunication and remote clinic. include its workforce, who have gone above and beyond during the pandemic to support patients and relatives. Their selflessness and commitment have been amazing, and they have put their lives and licenses at risk by going the extra mile to help patients and families in resource-deprived systems. of the NHS is that it is a public-funded national health service and has strong central leadership. Public support for NHS remains high despite the enormous challenges it is facing. is another key strength of the NHS which is partly due to its international recruitment, and the United Kingdom's (UK) recruitment of medical and nursing staff remains one of the highest in the world. The NHS Wales recruited over 400 nurses from overseas last year, and this number is likely to rise due to an increase in demand and lack of supply in the local market. This concept is a modified version of the NHS Quality Framework: a seven-step model for achieving high-quality care for all, outlined in High quality care for all, which appears to remain the current strategic national framework for quality (Box). Setting clear quality priorities and an agenda for the system based on policy initiatives from the Mandate and other national reports (eg State of Care), and desired outcomes and performance data. Setting standards for what high quality care looks like across all specialties.Harnessing information to improve quality of care through performance and quality reporting systems that provide feedback to providers of care at systemic, institutional or individual levels, and information to users and commissioners of services for accountability and choice.Recognising and rewarding improvement in the quality of care and service through financial and non-financial recognition (eg enhanced reputation or prestige).Regulation to improve healthcare, to guarantee minimum acceptable standards and to reassure the public about quality of care.Improving leadership, management, professional and institutional culture, skills and behaviours to provide quality assurance and improvement.Developing research and innovation and planning to provide progressive, high-quality care. He said: “If you will strictly listen to the voice of Jehovah your God and will do what is right in his eyes and will pay attention to his commandments and keep all his regulations, I will not bring upon you any of the diseases that I brought upon the Egyptians, for I, Jehovah, am healing you.”
I had to use American Emergency services a few months ago, dialed 911, instantly got emergency services and they showed up in within minutes. The patient was quickly taken to the hospital and was admitted without delay. Treatment was excellent and the hospital staff were ready to go. The patient was covered by medicare and insurance. Overall, US medicine isn't as bad as some people make it out to be. Every system has its flaws, but the UK....The UK is a radioactive dumpster fire that will only get worse over time. Don't get sick in the UK.
In the UK if it's an emergency you'll get similar access to care as what you described, at least that was my experience. It's when it's routine care or elective surgery where you can end up waiting 6 months or more to be treated. I'd much rather rely on the NHS for treatment than be charged six figures for a brief hospital stay in the US because I was uninsured.
It's unbelievible it's happening in a country who created the best social and health care of the world and it's one of the richest countries of the planet! Here in Brazil our system SUS was inspired by NHS.
Government should subsidize medical education it can encourage and support students to get in healthcare. More Doctors, Nurses and other healthcare professionals are needed NOW not before or after elections! People deserve that!
Changing the population's attitudes to nutrition, exercise and other self-care would ensure both the continuation of the NHS and extend people's healthy lives.
This mother does not have time to wait to see a specialist paid for by the NHS. Sensory issues (such as extreme feeding issues) are often a sign of Autism, and she needs to see a doctor who specializes in children with developmental delays ASAP. Yes, I know that this costs money, but her daughter’s cognitive, emotional, and physical abilities could be at stake. Ask friends or relatives for a loan, if money is an issue. I’m speaking from the perspective of a licensed behavior specialist in the US with 20 years of autism experience.
Why are they soo worried about telling Ukraine to use long range weapons. But, have this problem. High energy prices, big inflation. Maybe making peace and putting money towards to population would be good.
Sorry you have it rough over there. I was an electrical worker here in the US and when fixing the cities problems got me hurt, I had trouble getting the right healthcare for years. They seemed more concerned about me talking about it at the time but it's years later now. If I knew healthcare was so bad I might of gone into that instead of infrastructure and engineering. Boston healthcare nearly made it all worse when I nearly lost my leg but it's all a long story and not being able to walk reminds me everyday.
😒 how can that be? There are hundreds of -wage slaves- doctors and engineers that arrive on the shores of England every week. Cut barriers. Put them to work.
Wow a conservative government spend less on public goods like healthcare?! You get what you vote for. Glad to see labor in power and I’m hoping that party bring better healthcare to the people of the UK.
NHS needs restructuring. The hospital or the ward I am working is full of homeless and some of them their excuse are mental problems. They're bed blocking They're making the hospital like a hotel. Eat and run errand during the day and come back when due or near each meal time. So depressing...managers complain we need a bed the A and E is full....
The woman being interviewed my kid has an eating disorder and she is the problem. The Mum is another lazy mum who does not want to face the child screaming, she has created this. It does not need the NHS, she needs to be a parent.
I don't think she is a lazy mum, that's an unfair judgement from a 2 minute feature but I would say that she might want to consider reducing the formula over a period of time to incentivize eating solids, even if that means enduring some tantrums. My little cousin refused to stop breast-feeding until his mother started putting aloe vera gel on her nipples, the bitterness of it prompted him to veer away from breast milk toward solids (and yes, many a tantrum was endured).
This is insane! The last government can't be blamed entirely because this has been an issue for over a decade. And the labor party has so far done nothing. Lots of talking but no action.
The British economy is stagnant. Thus the government has less money for healthcare. It's an expected side effect of the deindustrialization of Britain. Other side effects are poor infrastructure (can't finish HS2) and a weaker military (can't fight a war independent of it's allies). This is what happens when a trading power turns against trade and exits its biggest trading block, the EU. Britain is not Russia or Middle East (commodity power) Britain is not China (manufacturing power) it's a trading power or rather it was. By 2030, Polish per capita income will surpass that of Britain. British doctors and nurses are leaving for other English speaking countries like Australia US and Canada. Enjoy!
Dw using ‘crisis’ again in anything uk related, it’s getting absurd now. Nhs does require a fundamental rethink because it has been screwed up by both major political parties for decades now. I can tell you moving back to uk 7 years ago and I am so thankful I can fill my prescriptions at no cost (living in US I just couldn’t afford to get most of my prescriptions even with insurance) and if I need to see my gp or consultant I can - tho gp will require too many phone calls to arrange. It’s not a crisis, that is ridiculous but it does require a lot more money and we need to introduce copay for some things because people don’t value what they think of as free so the nhs is abused and that means people that do require it have to wait longer. As a percentage of gdp, uk spends far less than most countries (g7 countries) on healthcare and that isn’t sustainable. Lots of things need changed like every doctor in nhs working ‘part time’ because they’ve negotiated in their contracts with successive gov’ts and then working at various surgeries. That said, citizens still have guaranteed healthcare, they will never go bankrupt from healthcare bills and you will never have to ration medicine because of cost. That is something very few citizens can claim in the world, including other g7 countries, so a little perspective please.
Tl;dr. Funny to see someone criticize the use of the word "crisis" while following it up with a statement about a FUNDAMENTAL need to overhaul said system. Read more, write less.
DW that has its origin in Germany is even more critical of the German system in virtually everything in a manner you'll question whether they have a vendetta. This man up here trying to defend the NHS or UK, ended up contradicting himself.
It is still a crisis. While be it a major one. The key issue is funding. Real Wages for nurses have fallen 20% for nurses midwife and paramedic from 2009 till 2023. For junior doctors even by 30% due to large cut in pay for shiftwork. From 2000 to 2009 UK got 10.000 additional GP doctors. From 2009 till 2018 only 150.
@@paxundpeace9970 I doubt the stats, from 2009 to 2018, only 150 GPs, I know almost a quarter of this number that joined in the period you quoted. Way higher than what you are saying, though the majority come from Asian and African countries.

Why should she be seen in an acceptable amount of time. Finite resources allocated per predetermine government treatment rate. This is what you get with socialize national health care. Someone is at the bottom. Older people will be determined to have less need lower life expectation. Lesser known diseases will not get research funding, money goes with the majority illness. I am not making fun of this sad situation, but socialized medicine has a price many will pay.
The US healthcare system generates a lot of money for private insurances and private hospitals. This is one of the major reasons the powers that be in the US balk at Universal Healthcare. They pay a lot of money to lobbyists to convince Congress not to do it. It seems like the wealthy in the UK want to evolve their system into one where they too can grift off the people.

Yet the UK has sent over £.4.7 Billion to Ukraine to fund the war effort. Good money that could have been spent on the NHS. Getting specialists in place for these types of issues. The truth is the UK has had a sudden increase in population (thanks to uncontrolled mass immigration) this has put a major strain on our health system as well as other areas like schools and housing. Brexit came too late and was watered down considerably by the government who didn't want to carry it out thus leaving Nigel Farage out of any negotiations and talks. The NHS model has moved steadily further away from the Soviet model. That is what stealth privatisation is.
@@l3eatalphal3eatalpha what stealth privatization?
@@Agtsmirnoff The one you can read about from a multitude of sources by Google -> "stealth privatisation of the NHS"
@@l3eatalphal3eatalpha I did, nothing but the same dribble from the like of the Guardian and other leftist rags. One article was ironically from a GP turned public healthcare advocate, complaining about this, and also the lack of GPs, without the self-awareness to realize her exit from the healthcare profession renders her hypocritical in her analysis.
Just because a small number of NHS functions that require specialization have been privatised Because they are more efficient at said functions, does not speak to any “stealth privatisation”
People like you love to fearmonger, you have no argument to support the current NHS model other than to point to the US and falsely claim that anybody advocating for major reform is somehow secretly trying to turn the NHS into an American style healthcare system. As if the NHS and the USA are the only two healthcare systems that exist in the entire world.
Even if there was such a scheme going on, somehow countries like Canada, France, Germany, all utilize private organizations and have better outcomes than the NHS is able to produce
You can pour few more millions and billions but it will still be in crisis because u need to restructure the whole NHS aligning with ppls need
Who is this "they"?
I guess that's the problem in so many countries: people who complain about foreign workers are not willing to do their job for the same money.
"British would not work under the same conditions"...
Do you realize that working for the NHS requires highly qualified jobs, like doctors and surgeons?
Maybe you simply don't have enough qualified people there, due to high cost of University education (which is free in most continental Europe) 🤡🤡🤡🤡
Lots of British people work in the NHS in my experience. But the patients from the world over.
I started working for the NHS some years ago. Out of my induction class , ALL the English people left. They don’t want to work as nurses or doctors for their country anymore, so we do the job they don’t want.
14 years of Tory rule, before that 13 years of Tory Lite, which followed 18 years of Thatcherite underfunding. Can Starmer change course?

Let's be clear about this: We are seeing the seruptitious, incrimentsal but obvious move to NHS privitization. It wasn't expected to be as easy as selling off other National services, but it has, I am sure been gong on for decades. Eventually, the UK will have a US based 'insurance' based system of health care provision or a 2 tier dramtically scaled back health service.

This mother does not have time to wait to see a specialist paid for by the NHS.

Obviously you know all about it from a 2 minute video!
The system is completely broken and not fit for service. There are far too many in the people, the NHS can’t support them. The NHS should be scrapped!
This is insane! The last government can't be blamed entirely because this has been an issue for over a decade. And the labor party has so far done nothing. Lots of talking but no action.

Why did you guys keep voting for Tories?
