- A while back, I was out fossil hunting with a couple of other people and Marlonique found this amazing fossil dolphin skull! It has been donated to the Canterbury Museum who have had it prepped.

Thanks so much for watching, what a great find by Marlonique! You can find the discount code for the biltong in my Linktree, I think they only ship to Australia and New Zealand: linktr.ee/mamlambofossils
Thank you
So cool to see touch fossils. My wife and I have encouraged 100's of people to touch fossils and continue to do so with our ever expanding collection.
Good to see you having fun :) we also have fun watching you.
It just blows my mind to think you can go out on basically a morning walk and find these ancient animals along the shore. How I wish to live in a place ❤
Man you are so inspiring and the work you are doing is so important, saving all that history.
You have a wonderful place to find fossils. You're always finding some really interesting specimens.
Lovely finds Morne! Was great watching this! Looking forward to the next video! Hope that skull looks great!
Thanks linus!
If I could make a suggestion many people are so used to seeing the phrase please do not touch at first glance when you see the two words please and touch you might assume please do not touch. Maybe you could change the phrasing to feel free to touch all you want or something to that effect
@7:28 you seem to be missing the big nodule in the top left (next to the one you are handling) looks like there are 3 crab legs sticking out. Although the concretion is not nice and round it looks like there is a crab in there.
I do enjoy the beach walks and the possible fossils within, but why haven't you make any prep videos of late? They have to be easy to make, since they simply record while you prep the fossils in the rock. I miss those videos! I really enjoy seeing the fossil become visible through the rock as you chip it away. Immensely satisfying to watch that happen. Hope to see more of that kind of content. Cheers!
They are very difficult to make, they require many hours of editing
Biltong is from south africa, very nice! Enjoy it!!!
I’ve never seen a shell fossil like that. Beautiful.
Tumble the smaller bone pieces, they are amazing polished.
Thank you for sharing this very enjoyable video with us six stars brother
No crab left behind 🦀
Great video, do you have any prep videos in the making, I love watching the process
I've got a few on the go ;)
Fun hunt Morne - enjoy the biltong!!!!
What part of NZ do you hunt fossils? Do you have any recommendations for beaches around the Whangarei Region? I would love to get into fossil hunting but I have no idea where to start.
Again a beautiful Video ❤
Thank you so much 😀
@@MamlamboFossils thank you for making and showing🙏👍🫡

What a beautiful area to fossil hunt.
damn it, now I'm hungry!
Great video once again with some good finds, one question at 9.21 in the video there was a rock above the one you said that you should have kept that looked interesting do you know what that was?
You have X ray vision.
Right?! 😮
Watching you with a box cutter had me so nervous. Be careful brother.
Wow thats so cool
What is biltong? Addictive is what it is! Ive been wanting to learn to make it for myself!
I would love to visit your shop, and TOUCH the stones and fossils ! What is in the last display ? Ribs ?
There is a bony tooth bird in one of the displays, not sure which one you saw :)

When do you think you'll get the dolphin skull all cleaned up
I won't be doing this one, this will be the Canterbury Museum
Okay
Man how did you get a Biltong Spencer LOL that's fantastic. Lekker man Lekker
I am very intrigued as to how all these animals wound up in the same layers, and in very similar concretions...
Is this a Tsunami deposit? perhaps I am late in this guess?
I just feel like almost everything you find seems as though it came from some catastrophic event.
Did you make a video of the National Show?
@@Itssmial_Ova no, I wasn't there unfortunately
So did you take the dolphin skull? Or was it too big?
I helped carry it, Marlonique found it :)
Отличный музей!!!👍
dang! they don’t ship to the US.
Ah sorry, I should have mentioned that!
Hay haven't seen you for awhile how's things 🤘
Going well thanks bro, and you?
You should cut everything away from your other hand you almost needed stitches twice in 30 seconds. But love your videos keep em up.
Can I send you a picture of a rock with odd symmetry. I have no knowledge of paleontology or geology but I can’t help but feel I have rocks that hold amazing things in them. I dunno. I’m just sooo frustrated because no one believes a word I say. Thought you could help..
🍗
I used to collect shells - The large one you picked up looks like some species of Volute - maybe this one en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alcithoe_arabica or related...which can be found in your waters.... looking again it could be a conch or a whelk, but I am going to stick with Volute :-)
It's of the Mauithoe genus I think
@@MamlamboFossils Phew - it is a Volute then :-) - always go with your gut...
That beach is a goldmine
