Omg your video saved me!!! Thanks so much!!! I upgraded my 36 to 38 and all the games were messed up. This took 20 seconds and fixed everything! Thanks so much 😅
Amazing advice..... I've upgraded my CPU and GPU thinking Batocera was not capable of giving me the best performance. Your video changed that. Please make more v38 video tips!
IF ANYONE ELSE IS HAVING ISSUES … I did what the video did and it fixed my menu lag but my games were still laggy! Make sure you go to your game options or emulator options and change that video output to 1920 1080 60hz and it’ll be resolved !
I noticed over all slowdowns within Batocera 38. Im running the OS on a dell optiplex 9th gen i5, 16gb ram, SSD, rx6400 swift 105 graphics card (4gb ram ddr6). any thoughts? EDIT: Did you select that screen resolution for a tv or monitor?
I haven’t spent a lot of time on 38 as I quickly decided to stay with 37. I suspected ps2 was a little slower as was GameCube. I did try v39 beta briefly and was impressed how good ps2 was so there’s hope (maybe) around the corner.
@@HumanoidMachines Thanks for the replay. did you notice improved over all performance with v37? I will likely just hold out until v39 is officially released.
@@thepumpkinprince9993 it will be a modified batocera version for handhelds. On retrobat that setting is in a different place to what I show in the video. It could becsamo action for you. Try this - Start - Game Settings - scroll down and look for Video Mode. If it’s there then set to something like I showed in the video or maybe at 720. Reboot.
Looking at Batocera v39 changelog for PS2 and Gamecube it just says those emulators have been updated, so maybe they are running better? Course the emulators themselves already have newer versions available than the ones in Batocera v39. Also for PS2 it says ps2 bios files now go into a ps2 folder, then bios folder. Rather than just the bios root folder. So they would go /userdata/bios/ps2. Can you confirm thats the only way ps2 games launch cause of that?
I have a build in progress using v39 beta. I’m using the bios pack from 38. I had to create a folder called ps2 within the bios folder and drop in the file ps2-0230a-20080220.bin PS2 is running better than ever btw
Tested latest v39 beta (jan 4 build) on my win600. Latest v39 beta has TDP setting now so you can choose between low, balance and high. This is for mobile devices running x86 64. So saving some battery life if using Batocera on mobile x86 64 device. Can be set per system or per game, handy. However no matter what settings I tried I could not get God of War 2 PS2 running full speed. Im using v36 and on v36 I can ,at native res anyway (has speedhack settings in v36) However v36 hasnt got fractional upscale option for ps2 but I think Ill keep v36 on my win600 still for now anyway. I actually run Batocera internally from a 2TB SSD on my Anbernic win600 👍 Btw, flashing v39 automatically creates the ps2 folder in the bios folder. I just had to find that extra bios file and drop that in there, as you mentioned above.
@@HumanoidMachines Not sure if the TDP setting even shows when using on a reg PC, no need for it ofcourse anyway. But if you have a PC mobile like a ROG Ally, win600,or any number of others even Steam Deck you could test it too.
I've installed batocera for the 5th time on a raspberry p4, copied all the bios files in the folder and none of the crap seems to work, all the games work at 0.02% of the speed... Ive seen som many video's about this shit, and I just can't get it to work. The fuck am I doing wrong??

@@Jfbegood2yourself I think 37 is overal better than 38 but early signs on v39 look like it will be the better system
where can i get the roms? and bios?
Can’t give out direct links for legal reasons but for bios, google Batocera 38 bios pack.
Im going to do this wish me luck 🤘🏽
did not work. the opening video is still slow
Maybe try another 1080 resolution…
Doesnt have that option for me 😮💨 my gameboy advance games are laggy and slow when I play them
Are you using batocera 38 or 39?
@@HumanoidMachines 39 I think on a RG35XX Some games play fine where as others are really slow, iv disabled power saving mode but still nothing

Downloaded 39 beta earlier… it could be a bit special. First impressions on ps2 and GameCube are looking good.

I’ve zero experience with raspberry pi. It could be a multitude of reasons why… a specific raspberry pi group may be able to help.
