To celebrate the upcoming holidays, we thought it would be fun to do “The Twelve Days of Villa-Lobos” and release a different etude played by Tomasz Fechner every day! Here he is with Etude No. 10 on an beautiful 2010 Teodoro Perez 'Maestro' with a Cedar top and CSA Rosewood back and sides. Recorded at the Guitar Salon International showroom in Santa Monica, CA.
Huge thanks to the folks at Apogee Electronics (ApogeeDigital.com) for the use of their Ensemble interface in these recordings.

Villa-Lobos was someone who just loved the SOUND of a guitar, all over the neck. Amazing piece, nice performance!

Can someone enlighten me as to why the Segovia version is missing the beautiful section starting at :32?

For some reason, the french publishing house (Max Eschig) that originally published the score decided to cut out this part. So Segovia and many others played based on this edition until someone decided to check the original manuscripts and found out that not only this session was missing, but a few others in oher guitar works - As far as I know, Fabio Zanon was the first to record the entire piece.

@@paulodacosta3941 no, it wasn't Max Eschig. It was deliberately a choice of Villa Lobos himself. It was published entirely but then Villa Lobos told them not to publish that part

Zigante’s version based the manuscript from 1928 sent to Editions Max Eschig as the first fair copy of the original draft

that part after the intro was deliberately erased by Villa Lobos himself, so no Max Eschig to blame
