There's actually an even easier way to unlock this level in the original game. I tested it and it works in the remake as well. 1. Interact with the swingset outside Kate's House until the "I remember playing on this swingset with Kate when we were kids." text appears. 2. Go inside the house and interact with the piano until it plays the first few notes of "No Friends" and the "This sounds familiar" text appears. 3. Go back outside and walk up towards the Charlie Matheson Jr. poster. This instantly unlocks the secret level. Edit: Okay so upon investigation, interacting with the swingset, the piano until the notes from No Friends plays, and walking up to the Charlie poster was ALWAYS the intended way to unlock the secret. Exiting the level and going up to the Charlie poster three times is simply correlation, as it was a bug in the original version that was patched in Anniversary Edition. I checked the original game's source code and I can confirm it, as the "POI_swingset", "POI_piano" and "POI_charlie" cases are the only ones to call for "StartCoroutine(LoadSecret());". "POI_charlie" sets this to true, so I assume this is part of what caused the bug in the original game.

So uh what was the story on the poster overlapping slender? As a kid I always took it as Charles becoming slender. But wasnt the case right? Just implied charles became a proxy?
my guess is that charlie was a picture of a real child back then. Since they show a picture of the Mathesons in the new chapter, it also made them change his Poster with the new 'game' version
