My daughter just turned 7. She’s teased at school for her complexion and hair texture. Hearing her say “I’m ugly” broke me as a man. Never again. I found this video two weeks ago, and have showered my beautiful girl in affirmations ever since. She will never feel that way again. I wish her mother was still with us to see how hard I’m trying 😞 & to all of the other black women clicking on this video, I want you to know that you are beautiful.. don’t EVER forget that.

I needed this because I was told my whole life I wasn’t pretty enough, I was too dark, I wasn’t good enough, etc. I internalized those negative comments and started to believe it myself. I’m going to listen to this everyday until I believe it myself.

No cap… I’m taking a shower with a candle, incense, and a J. I drink some water in the shower and start washing off with lemon ginger soap. I start with my hair and work my way down. Im almost rinsed off and BOOM I get lightheaded. Im thinking oh no Im bout to pass out. I try and sit but no go. I make it to the bed and breathe my way back. I finally go back in and finish. The WHOLE TIME THIS IS PLAYING! I think I finally felt the weight of what I have been carrying. Wow!!!!!

I understand people's point of view about wanting 'different variations of black women' in the clip, but perception definitely varies. At 1st when I saw this, I felt a blow to my self-esteem. She is exceptionally gorgeous and I felt like I wasn't. But it challenged me to understand where that was coming from and I was grateful for that. It gave me an opportunity to reassure myself.
Once I did that, what I pulled from this was that this is a confident, dark-skinned, beautiful, big-haired woman living in her light - something I aspire to do, and something I believed the creator was aiming for. I also understood that the visual isn't as important as the words itself. I also wanted to give the creator grace. If this is what she had access to in order to get this message up, then it's worth it for me. As it is, I listen to the video more than I watch it anyway.
If we give her the views and support the channel, maybe that will create the resources she needs to make the video that you all are describing with the quality it requires. I say, let's listen to the message for now, and trust that this was meant for ALL black women. Blessings and light to everyone watching and listening 💜🙏🏾

For the days I didn’t think to pray, or the days I thought of praying but couldn’t give you the time to get it done. Thank you for your serene patience, your kindness, and your love for me and my children. I am nothing and in these moments I feel the depth of that statement and I am eternally grateful that it’s not all reliant upon me. You are my God; and without you, I am a flame that can burn without passion. Just null and void. I ask for you to heal my depression, heal the broken gaps in my consciousness. Heal my inner children, and the dissociative parts that go lingering inside of my consciousness. Heal my protective parts, my defender parts and my core parts. Heal the broke. Families within and without. Connect me to the truth God and let me show you that I care about the truth you’ve given me. Thank you for my children, and their dads and may our lives be filled with love, peace, forgiveness and true love. In Jesus Name I pray.

Thank you for this. I cried listening and realizing that it’s true. I am those things. I never give myself credit. I have come through so much and when my therapist told me that I am strong, I started to cry, because no one every told me that. The molestation, date rape, illness, being dogged out by men, it seems like all my life and the worst is losing my mom as a teenager, losing numerous family members and also getting my degree and making the Dean’s List, all while being a single mom, with absolutely no support system. I AM.

I tried listening to this while asleep but the people I live with were playing a loud movie in the room across from me. I have heard no matter how low it is it can still seep into my subconscious mind. So I will try it again. But I am playing it while I workout and it’s helping me focus soo well! Wow!
