Excellent interview, quite a different path Andrea took compared to trumpet students in the states or even Northen Europe. BTW, I looked up the J. Fuss 18 etudes book, not bad at all !
Thanks. I don’t have that J. Fuss book and I will be tracking down the original edition of Gatti. I’ve used Gatti for decades and hope these books come back into use again. Spread the word.
@@JeffPurtle The Gatti books are excellent and like you said, enjoyable etudes to play. My buddy and I pull out the duets all the time. What is the fourth book you were talking about, I can't even find a reference to it???
@@JeffPurtle Thanks, I found it, great material there! BTW, the St. Jacomie book can be a real bastard. I remember hearing Doc say that he loved playing those etudes at the back and knew he was in shape when he could run through them non-stop. My favorite fundamentals section are the '10 diversions on perfect chords', page 233.
@@lwskiner take a look at this book that is a companion to Saint-Jacome. I bet you’d like it. www.purtle.com/david-bertie-the-inspiration-of-saint-jacome
