    I have never seen such a variety and beauty of plants in my life, and it's nice that you said that the wild bird loves these types of plants.🌱. Thanks 🙏

    Thank you, Michael for this video. My house will be ready in January. Can't wait to plant all of the plants in your video.

    Thank you for spreading natives and sharing your knowledge. Wish there was more people as caring as you. My family is from Miami they saw it go from a nice beach town with lots of wildlife to a crime ridden concrete jungle, very sad, now we are in NC Florida but the development is getting bad here as well only thing left to do is convert our yards as much as possible back to natives so our ecosystems can stay afloat.

      Yes! It’s important to preserve and protect what’s left of our natural environment! It makes a difference. Thank you for being a great friend of Florida native plants! 😀🪴

    Great video! I have a small yard I need to fill up with more native plants in Kendall. Have sunshine mimosa as a ground cover, lantana, and porter weed. Need another small tree to go with my Simpson stopper I'm trying to grow as a small tree.

      Hi there! Maybe Lignum vitae? It's a small native tree with pretty flowers.😀🪴

    Perhaps I need to plant a coontie to attract the Atala butterflies. 🦋 I wonder if the atala butterflies can be found in Tampa, zone 10a!?🤔

      Yes, yes, coontie will do well in Tampa area. My sister lives Northeast of you and she has lots of coontie doing great. And the atala buterflies your coontie will attract will thank you!!😀🪴

    That’s the wrong porter-weed species, that one is an invasive species, the native one is more of a ground cover and has light blue flowers with less veined leaves, just a common mistake I made

    • @LETSGROWGARDENDESIGN
      @LETSGROWGARDENDESIGN  7 месяцев назад

      Thanks for the info, yeah porterweed is sometimes tricky, it often hybridizes ( S. x Intercendens). On invasiveness, the invasive council-FISC, has only a "caution" note (Class II). I for one, have some issues with FISC assessments on plants, I think they are getting a bit too carried away / restrictive on some plant use recommendations. Plants grow and evolve. Its nature. My stance is that only when an NFC starts to to see encroachments of non natives , then should we worry, not before. And I feel we need even more biodiveristy to take on the challenges of climate change. Hybridizations is natures way to address some of that. Hope this helps explain it a little more. 😀 🪴

      Looks like its gonna be lantana, the vine, muly grass & firebush? Where can I buy them near Pensacola?

    • @LETSGROWGARDENDESIGN
      @LETSGROWGARDENDESIGN  28 дней назад

      Hi there. Muhly is great, but firebush might be sensitive to cold winters up there in NE Florida. 😀🪴 Saw palmeeto will do good up there and for vine, you can use passionvine. Hope this helps. 😀🪴

    The porterweed you're showing is not native. The native only grows to about 1 ft. The one you're showing is somewhat invasive.

      Hi there, Porterweed spp has gone through a hybridization mix with the native porterweed.😀🪴
