    I can’t get over how busy Falkirk is in 1988, I was born in 74 I totally forgot what it used to be like great memories 👍🏻

    Clips like this are amazing. Would have been a fairly boring video at the time, but now it's like a time capsule! I'm amazed at how different Graham's road is compared to now

      Yes, they are. They are very precious. We have one billion clips of HM Queen and big public events. But everyday streets of everyday days: very rare, and hence fascinating. You can see what a thriving retail existed in the late 80s in the UK, even in relatively depressed places like Falkirk.

    I left Falkirk in 88 and moved to London. This is how I remember the town, awesome video - brought back some happy and not so happy memories 🥺

    I was in Falkirk almost every day back then - that was the year my mother died and my life was about to go in a different direction - makes you have a good think watching the past berfore your very eyes

    I was born 1988 at Falkirk royal, Weird seeing the car going straight on at the round about (up from grahamston station) then turning left at the old pictures (city night club now)

    I was born in Falkirk @the Royal Infirmary in 69 , emigrated to Canada and was back in 86 ...headed home again June 2024❤

    Brill!. I was born in 71 and remember it like this. Just gutted you cut the recording at lint riggs cos I was a Saturday girl in greggs. That would have been crazy to see all my old pals, or even my much younger self. Thanks for posting!!

    I would have been 7 when this video was made. I remember going in a lot of those shops with my mum back then. The high street was so busy back then. Always loved going to the market next to the college on a Saturday and coming home with a new toy.

    I spent my early years living in Larbert and Stenhousemuir and God knows how many times I drove on this road to the 'town'. Your video certainly takes me back and all the fond memories I had in and around Falkirk. Wonderful!!👍👍👍!!!

    Amazing video man. I loved Falkirk growing up in the 80s and 90s with all the shops especially the howgate. Most of the good shops are gone. A real shame.

      The loss of the M&S was the death blow. Stirling's hangs on...for now.

      Same used to play at the sand dunes behind the rubble next to pipe brig

      I used play on the waste ground that was left when they demolished the greyhound track and wood yard that was there before the retail park was built. The retail park wasn't there until 94/95

    My social group showed a video of old falkirk & in the middle you could hear the driver & his missus having a domestic! .I wonder without the music if this is it!

    Yes we all have some nice memories of Falkirk, and the odd pretty nurse In the Royal, but the number of people that you could have let cross the road, as you were shuffling along nose to tail, is mind blowing, poor maners, I think you must come from Bonnybridge.

      @@garycurrington5495 Gary I think it is......hes turning towards thornhill rd,which as we all know wasnt part of the run! But the unit that was full of stock was one of birrells units behind the Gordon lounge. So he could have been going for more irn bru. They were the good old days.....was there not 2 Van's then? Yin high bog yin low?
