I love short names too! I have a Mila and Ezra and I’m stuck between Cruz or Luca for our son due in October. I love Indy for a girl if we ever have more babies.

Ah! Love these. I have a Juniper and Otto - and expecting our second boy in October. I want to name him Sonny so bad, especially because it reminds me of my father who just recently passed. Having a hard time convincing my husband it’s not too “hippy dippy”! 🙃🙏

my daughters name is Teddy, I named her after a character in a book, she had twin girls last year and named them after characters in books. Their names are Kaylan and Ashton ♥️♥️

I knew before I even clicked play that we'd have so many loved names in common!! Ezra is one of my most favorites, honestly for a girl or a boy but my husband isn't a fan 🙃 My other tops for boys were Luca, Rainey, Chord, Silas, Euen, Rory and Emile. My top faves for girls were Poppy (after my Poppy, my Grandfather), Season, Cora, Sunny, Meadow, Thora, and Primrose. I named my son Rhythm Orion so I LOVEEE unique names. Keep on keepin on girl

My granddaughter’s name is Irelyn (Ireland) and I ❤❤❤ it! One of her sister’s name is Charley Lyn.
We found out we are having a boy and think boy names are so much harder! We have it narrowed down to 3 but still haven’t decided. I honestly think we will decide on the day haha. Some names we liked but didn’t choose were: Arden, Ira, Harland, Percy, Elias, and Ellis. I like old Victorian names ☺️

My maiden name is Rhodes and im toying with the idea of using it as a boy name if I ever have one. But Im not sure if that would be weird or not!! I know Raven Gates from the Bachelor did that with her baby using her maiden name (so Gates Gottschalk i think) and i think its cool! I'd just be worried about the judgement but also dont care haha! :)
i LOVE the idea of naming your baby your maiden name!! my best friend did that with her son Kane and I’m so so in love with it. if my maiden name was Rhodes I would have named my child that 100%! it’s beautiful :)

I LOVE the name Sonny or Sunny! It’s also on my list for girl names☀️🥰 Iris is my niece’s name so that’s off the list but it’s pretty, and I also like the name Shiloh for a girl though!

not a dumb question, it is really hard to tell them apart some days! i just cant wait for them to start to develop little personalities so it's a bit easier!

My husband and I had the hardest time agreeing on names! He is a teacher though which just added another dimension to picking names. We were team green for our first and coming up with both a boy and girl name took forever. But we agreed on Lena Mae and she’s 4.5 years old now and I still love it so that’s good haha. Of course we had another girl for our second and didn’t get to use our boy name. It luckily didn’t take as long though because I narrowed down the list as I wanted another 4 letter name, ending in ‘a’. We chose Nora Emery for her. I love baby names though and could talk about them all day!! Ha
My dad's older sister, by far my favorite Aunt was Lena Mae. She was more like a grandmother than an Aunt I miss her amazing spirit. She could cook ... a great southern cook, everything from scratch. I would do anything to have her fried chicken, corn bread, actually anything she cooked was awesome. Seeing the name you gave your first born well it brought great memories to the forefront. Having a baby girl in July and it was hard for us to come up with a name because I’m a preschool teacher (6 years and counting) so my husband would say a name and I would be like oh noooooooo because this little girl was a terror 😂

My name is Charity. I saw a made for TV movie when I was a kid called the Dollmaker and the little girl in the movie had an imaginary friend named Callie Lou, and I said I’d name my daughter that and she’d be real. And I did. Callie Louise. People are crazy about her name now.
I also have an Autumn Hope. Same, and both love their names.
I would say, be mindful of spelling. Sometimes it brings them negative attention as they have to correct people and spell it. Just a thought, maybe not a big deal.

My bf’s name is Graham and while it’s a great name, it’s very obnoxious for him to always have to spell it to anyone he needs to give his name to 😂. It’s now kind of automatic; he says his name and immediately follows up by the spelling of it!

Tbh I’m kind of sick of a lot of “unique” names they’ve gotten to the point where they’re more common than “normal” names and they’re obnoxious to look at pronounce and hear and end up just being bad names I’ve never met a kid with a unique name (I am one) who actually likes their name I used fake/Nick names my whole life because my name was too weird and no one around me had one like it

For my whole life, my name was “unique”. I had, until well into adulthood, literally only met 2 people with the same name as myself. Ever. And they were elderly women; one was a catholic nun. When my daughter was naming her first baby in 2020, my name showed up as a top 10 (it may have even been higher up on some lists, like top 3) name of 2020. I have always loved my name and my only gripe as a kid was that I could never find a keychain or mug with my name on it. Now as an adult, I still love my name and I feel happy to hear Moms calling to their little “Nora’s” in stores all the time. I think if I had grown up with my younger brothers in Ireland, I would probably have heard my name more often, but here in the states, Nora was extremely uncommon.
I want to make my son Hudson soooo much but nicknames are inevitable and I don’t want him to be called Hud or Huddy. I’d anyone could think of a cute nickname for it, let me know.
