I've converted some of the mb8719 chassis's to work on 20 and 40 meters in the past. A dds vfo and digital meter might be nice in these radios. Great work you all are doing! 73s from WV.
Now we need a digi s meter set like the meters in a cobra 2000. Only see ones made for mobiles don't see any yet for cobra bases or galaxy saturn and rci type bases
S-9 is set with 100uV rf input at the antenna port. You may se a differance do to the digital S meter is a tru reading type. The math invilved is extremely exact. Having said that, not having the unit on a calibrated input, no telling if an componant inside the radio has drifted or the setting pot a bit dirty and has an issue.
@@ddsvfo The pot you refer to seems to be VR1 on the 858 chassis inside correct? I can check that myself but besides that what components (digital meter ones) or what likely?
