Spring is breeding season and if I’m not mistaken most wild mallards have already begun their nesting for the year. I’d say it’s possible he’s feeling that biological pressure to mate.
I know that the mallards at the park get aggressive because there are more males than females, and that with domestic ducks drakes get aggressive if there aren't enough females to mate with.
No it is aggressive dehavor its being dominant. I have one like this too, I heard hold it down so it cannot move with head to the ground and pinch at the back of the neck. The same behavior as a drake dose with a female. I will be starting this tomorrow, this drake of mine , got a hold of one of the baby ducks today, grabbed it out of pool and was shaking it, like it was going to kill it.
So we have 3 female ducks. They started acting the same way once they were full-grown. He just likes you and is comfy :) we had to put a pool under our patio for them to be able to swim while they stare at us inside 😂 sometimes we put a tarp in the house and let them come in to play with the kids haha
There was a pheasant in my neighborhood growing up that lived on a farm nearby and it was territorial of about a quarter mile. When me and my brother got near are house after getting of the bus we'd sprint home cause he'd chase us trying to peck us. The neighbor would bring an umbrella out while she mowed the lawn cause it would go after the riding lawn mower and her. As kids we nick named the pheasant killer.
My mallards don't do that but I have had mine since they were baby's and they love me bit I also keep them in a pen in the garage they use to go in our pond but now for some reason there trying to mate all the others and now they go from pen to pen
I have a female Muscovy she does the same stuff. She gets zoomies just like a dog as well. Its not him being aggressive its him saying hi and get me more friends.
True story - my cousin used to have pet baby geese and we had to run across his yard flapping our hands to teach them how to fly... the left everyday to go eat in the field once they could fly and came back to the yard to sleep in the shed at night. Wish I RUclipsd back then 😎
They always know when the cameras are rolling and never act as bad as they usually do when they are off. Get him some hens. Then, put him down on the ground with both hands, holding him down to the ground to show dominance over him; is what some people say. They say it is easier with drakes than roosters or a dominant hen.
He sees you as a mother. I had ducks and geese and they'd follow me and would wanna be picked up. They turn into part of the family and they pickup on it. But each one of mine had their own personality
You can pin him down by the body and hold him till he calms down and then release him it works for a little bit. My mallard has some girls he looks after so he retreats to them and only acts tough when I turn my back
Walk around and hold him till he’s calm, dig around the bottom of the pen and put a 2x8 or 2x10 in the ground and staple the wire to it then bury it, get flight netting for pheasants make use it’s the smaller squares so he doesn’t fly out, don’t use chicken wire because he could break his neck or get stuck
Hey Bobby like they say he just needs a mate. Also if you kids are riding that slow moving quad they should have a helmet on just to protect them in case any stupid fall or anything else things happen and then later it's I wish I did this instead. This is just me do what you want or like. Thanks for the video.
Get him a hen a girl duck also you can hold him down and push his head down but not hard or any kind of pain ducks do it to show dominance… my male duck does this too and he’s a lot more determined.. I thought it was cause he loves me lol
He must have figured out what you do in the fall and this is how he gets back at you. lol

I know that the mallards at the park get aggressive because there are more males than females, and that with domestic ducks drakes get aggressive if there aren't enough females to mate with.
“He’s always lurking around somewhere” 🤣
😂😂😂
LOL the sounds of his feet when he’s clippin is priceless 😂
I'm not seeing it as aggression. I'm seeing it as wanting to belong and be part of what's going on. He loves you.
Then you don't understand ducks.. its showing signs of agression which is normal in ducks.
No it is aggressive dehavor its being dominant. I have one like this too, I heard hold it down so it cannot move with head to the ground and pinch at the back of the neck. My mallards don't do that but I have had mine since they were baby's and they love me bit I also keep them in a pen in the garage they use to go in our pond but now for some reason there trying to mate all the others and now they go from pen to pen
Bobby! I got a SBE3 20 gauge for my birthday 🥳! It shoots like a charm and now I can actually hit stuff 😂
You need additional ducks. Like with tropical fish, if one or 3 are aggressive, you add the same kind in odd numbers, like 3 or 5.
Duck Season is coming! 😃
I have a female Muscovy she does the same stuff. She gets zoomies just like a dog as well. Its not him being aggressive its him saying hi and get me more friends.

My Mallard male is doing this right now. He wants to attack my feet and legs. And he thinks the yard is completely his. Lol his name is Dublin 😅

He sees you as a mother. I had ducks and geese and they'd follow me and would wanna be picked up. They turn into part of the family and they pickup on it. But each one of mine had their own personality

Did you find em bob?
You should take Mallard out hunting with ya sometime.
I have a rooster that when you get in the coop or near him or by a hen he attacks us and chases us. I think it is also territory most likely.
You can pin him down by the body and hold him till he calms down and then release him it works for a little bit. My mallard has some girls he looks after so he retreats to them and only acts tough when I turn my back

Get him a hen a girl duck also you can hold him down and push his head down but not hard or any kind of pain ducks do it to show dominance… my male duck does this too and he’s a lot more determined.. I thought it was cause he loves me lol
