- Despite various struggles, at the very beginning of WW2 the French Air Forces were among the most advanced in the world. Between the 1930s and 1940s French engineers created quite a few fighters and bombers that weren’t just to the standard of the best foreign designs, but surpassed them in one way or another, staying in service and in production for many years.
Low in numbers and with an outdated organisational structure, the French Air Force still gave the Luftwaffe a run for their money. After the Battle of France was lost, the surviving personnel fought valiantly as Free French Forces or as a part of armies of other Allied nations right until the capitulation of Germany and the liberation of their own country.

8:50 actually the jaguar blueprints are French, not british the project is French-British but the original design was from Breguet
The design was refined by the British and the engines were mostly British.

- Original design is from Breguet (french)
- Breguet and BAC then formed SEPECAT to work on the project
- Engines were designed together by Rolls-Royce and Turbomeca, it's even named after a french river.
- Engines for the brit Jaguars were made by Rolls-Royce, and the engines for the french Jaguars were made by Turbomeca.
- Parts of the aircraft were made 50/50 by french and british industries, then each country had to assemble their own aircrafts.
- Avionics were different for the french and for the british so each country made and equiped their own for the most part.
So it's a french design that was then developped and built together by France and the UK.
It's definitely not more of a british jet than it is a french one.
If anything the Jaguar A is mostly french (original design, Engine, Avionics, 50% of parts, and the Magics of course)

@@davidlow8104 but the project was still british AND french cooperation, however, the project 121A was proposed by Breguet in 1965 then they created SEPECAT with the BAC and Breguet, after that (around 1966 1967) Dassaut aviation took the Program in charge after getting hands on Breguet

I play War Thunder since it's release and until now, the only aviation tree that I have every single plane is the French one. Love all French planes in WT, great fun flying them. I hope we can see more modern Mirages soon!!!!

Hmmm yes, the British SEPECAT Jaguar. The "Société Européenne de Production de l'avion Ecole de Combat et d'Appui Tactique" Jaguar A. This plane is much more French than it was British, with Breguet being the leader in the program and all. So much so in fact, that it became a bone of contention later with the AFVG program.
it was a fantastic Fighter aircraft, testament to cooperation between France and the UK.

I started up the French tree at the start of this year, and its defintely a blessing and a curse. I've been forcing myself to stick to domestic-made aircraft since I already went up the US tree, and wow, some planes like the MB and VG are great and fairly easy to get into and others.... they at very least take some learning time.
The real curse ? Flying with tanker trash US teamates...

French main here. The plane I had the most fond memories flying with is the F-222. This bomber is just so BADASS despite being the very first bomber you get. Personally I prefer the F-222 over every other first bombers in the game. And I adore the Potez 631, being able to absolutely shred your enemies from the skies. I'm not much of a professional WT player so I can't really manage to escape from enemy fire but flying French airplanes is really a blast for me. I get more fun with the French than any other nations.

Potez 631 and H-75A-4 have been my favorites so far. Potez is surprisingly effective for a heavy fighter, though the engine power is awful and you'll always be at a speed disadvantage. The Hawk is just as beautiful as in any other nation, but the French guns lack the punch of the P-36G's 50 cals.

If it is just swapping out the blades for a game object that looks like a spinning prop then it wouldn't but if the game actully just spins the blade asset really fast then it could. Odds are it is just a glitch though now that i think about it since just spinning an asset like that wouldn't really create a good effect.
Unpopular opinion: Ganjin should give us free GE on Xmas and Valentine's day
I recall getting a percentage of the total GE I purchased back during a celebration a few years ago, I doubt they will do it again though.

Also Fun Fact: The MB.157 is missing 4 .303 MG's. There were 2 armaments for it in reality. 2 Hispano 404s + 4 .303 MGs , or 6 .303 MG's as the 20mms may be needed elsewhere.
Also, the VB.10 series are missing their payload options, 2 500lb bombs or 4 rockets. The models are in game, but unused.
Also, with the MD 452 series, anything you face short of the F2H and some props in the occasional full downtier, will be faster than you. Sabres and Mig-15s are totaly 8.3 when you can barely hit 1000kph in 4 minutes of level flight.
Also, every French jet untill the Jaguar A or Mirage 3 are stuck with Aim-9B's if they even get Air to Air missles. Have fun trying to hit an A-4E with a missle when he has flares. "Roll and they miss" is a good name for the AIm-9B. The F-100D is also stuck with the smallest payload option of any F-100 in game, being stuck with either 4 Aim-9Bs (Still a massive improvement over the Etendard IVM's 2 even though the IVM has 4 payload hardpoints), or 72 Mighty Mouse rockets (which the Etendard and Vautours 72 SNEBS beat out in penetration).

The Etendard IV was the initial prototype as with the IVB. The M is the production model. The IVP is a photo-reconisance aircraft with cameras instead of any armament.

Potez 631 is the best French plane period. Two 20mms and six 7,6mms with bombs, excellent maneuverability, and a backwards machine gunner at BR 2.0!

Low tier, my favourite has to be the Potez. High tier, the Etendard 4M is really a fun plane. But while I like the esthetics of the Mirage IIIC, it is outclassed by MiG21's and Phantom II's.
yes they have more speed and all, but the missiles largely neglect these advantages. if you want gun kills though thats gonna be more annoying, they can just run away easily.
what kills me if that there is 5 pylons available, and yet you can only carry 3 AAMs :(
@@theoescamez8389 the missiles are only 3, as you point out and then even two are actually good. BTW, the MiG's can get missiles just as good, but simply more of them. And the MiG's are just overall better. I understand the Mirage IIIC is good, but it is simply not in the same category as the top tier jets. Simply because 2 missiles is not enough, no flares, no ECM, no assisted aiming in ground battles, insufficient speed, catastrophic energy retention in turns, lesser acceleration. There is only 1 thing the Mirage is better at: the first turn. After that, you're a sitting duck. Roll rate should be the best in the game, if the flight model was realistic, but it ain't.

@@theoescamez8389 well, this is actually historical. The two under wing ones (not the wing tip ones) are "dumb" ones, as I understand it, not linked with the AA firing control.

and what worries me is that later Mirage dont seem to really carry more AAMs from my quick wiki research. the future aint bright :D

the BR 693 AB2 is an absolute monster. It has enough armament to make short work of ground tagets, and when a fighter tries to pounce they don't expect you to be able to turn with them and down them with a sort burst of 20mm.

Not gonna lie but you gotta love the 20mm machine guns on the French aircraft.
I started playing before the French tech tree was added and bought the premium Dewotine D.520 premium from the British tech tree and fell in love with that little machine. It is a beautiful fighter.
Gotta love the nc 223/f222. The hispanos at 1.3 for some of those fighter really shred too.
D520 is my favorite plane in the game, he out-turn italian and out-dive german.

this plane is superb, but he had just two other versions, the D.521, which we can't have now because he was just a gift, but i hope he will be put on the french technologic tree, and you have also the beautiful d551, this plane was a prototype, with the base of a D.520, but he fly faster than is predecessor and he was abe to fight a fock wulf, he as developped at the beginnig of the WW2, but during the occupation, german's were scared about this powerful french plane! sorry if I did some mistakes, I'm french😅

I love playing the NC 223 with my B1 bis, so much fun at low ranks. You just obliterate an entire street with 52x50kg bombs. Don't kill much enemies but fun as hell !

Please add a way to make lions easier and remove the repair costs, It's impossible to rank up if every time you destroy a vehicle I have to pay half of all the lions I have
All I can say is get good, I make 60k on average after I pay repair cost and ammo and with only a normal account. And I play some of the most expensive trees.

You're just gonna do much bad than good to the game. It's alrdy unbalanced atm, removing repair costs will make the game even more unplayable. Just get good and take your time to learn the game.

Hey, great video. Just to say the étendard IVM is not « I V M » but « 4 M », IV stands for thé roman number 4. And that last scene with all the French aircrafts diving is great. That plus the rewind, you have pretty serious guys in your team to be able to do that.

Also, for anyone defending them, tell me, would you ever, under any circumstance, rather have a VB.10 than a P-47, Bf 109 or Yak? Except for the Yak, they are superior in all points, the Yak only being being in terms of armament.
If the VB.10s had bombs and rockets like they were meant to IRL, maybe they would be of some use in GRB but without any payload, they are useless in both ARB and GRB
France weapons=BIG money
Though I am on tier 4, I still enjoy going back for a few quick games in the Potez 631, it really is enjoyable to fly, and very capable in combat. It is either very easy and intuitive plane to pilot, very "goof-proof" or, I have had an abnormal amount of dumb/buffoon's luck while piloting it. I do not rule that out. Either way, it's sweet and I totally dig it.
N.C 223 is an excellent heavy bomber, 4700 kilograms of bombs in rank 1 isnt a joke

Despite the painful repair cost and lack of Guns, I’m a sucker for the Vatour IIB: it has an extra 10% engine power over the Attacker model, and the Bombsight means you can drop accurately without needing to bleed energy, letting you drop, then return home to rearm
My favorite French Plane has to be the F222.2 or the NC233.3 or whatever the numbers are. I always forget
