Been a fan of Europe for a long time, but I must say that I am surprised as to how much I like this version. John Norum crushes the guitar in this. The whole band is great & Joey nails the vocals spot on. Love it!
JAILBREAK, lights out, love to love... and Under, Joey it’s magnificent🙏our covers are so great. Yesterday, young on stage Sing’s Beatles🙋🏽♀️love Europe a long time, I’m Fan, Joey sing, dance, run left, right💕energie‼️💋Love to love you, Joey🥰💋
Keep coming back to this video Axe. What a great tribute to UFO and Michael Schenker's playing. It is truly an excellent rendition. Many thanks for uploading!
It’s when someone tries to cover a piece of MS guitar mastery like this that you realize how exceptional he is. This cover is so simplified and imprecise - it makes you realize how exceptional you have to be to do it in a way that approximates the original. If I just listen to the outro it’s almost unrecognizable
John Norum Is My Hero I have litsen to hes music since i was 5 and when i heard on a interwev that he was listen to ufo i ofc started to listen to!!! Europe, UFO, MSG 4 Ever!!!!
Norum clearly has studied at MSG (Michael's School of Guitar) .... If I was just hearing that finale lead outro for the first time, I would swear blind that is was the flaxen-haired kraut himself! Excellent cover.
Axe my friend thanks for sharing.... once again you have found another gem from the works of UFO. I think this is a particularly excellent rendition of one of my UFO favourites! \m/
just a masterpiece of guitar work by Schenker and Norum nailed it 👍 i also didn't know until recently he played on DON DOKKEN'S solo album until i seen a live video great guitarist
Just found this, and its a great cover by Europe, and esp to John N for the guitar work. It is hard to copy Master Schenker but this stands up vbery well. Am sure Micheal was a influence on John?? Still - great cover!
@1yesfan I have liked the lead work & tone of John Norum he did playing in Europe, major Schenker influenced there's also a track from them called DANGER ON THE TRACK that has the same riff from MSG ROCK WILL NEVER DIE.. when I first heard Europe doing this cover I was shocked, what a great performance!! I posted Live Europe audio tracks on my ZODIAFV page BTW, thnx for watching & comment,I appreciated!!
@2047utube I just did,His Final Countdown is something! he a one man show,it looks comical but he is something great there,he's got a unique way. you were right a mix of Comical/serious type !! a Crazy/Genius kind of guy, if you can call it that!! (I only checked 2 videos so far) am gonna check more of this guy,I really liked the way he puts it together! thnx for leting me know!
@@IJF1965 he pulled a solo off yes but it wasn't a Schenker solo. Schenker's solo on Strangers In The Night, cries for the loss of the lover in the song. This one doesn't, though it is good, and John Norum is a quality player.
A fine cover, excellent musicians. It doesn´t reach the sense of menace and danger of the original, though. Joey sings great but softly (as is his style), the rhythm section is so civilized, with none of the borderline chaos of Andy Parker + Pete Way.. but nonetheless, a decent version of a classic track. Great guitar.
Sorry, not the "Desert Song" riff, but the adaptation for the original two acoustic guitars riff to one only electric, as played in Strangers in the Night live album.
Still getting used to typing on an iPad. I was trying to say that I like Vinnie Moore, but I wish John could've done UFO, too. He was the perfect choice.
This is good stuff! The guitar sound is more like Schenker used to sound like in the old days with UFO.Now Schenkers sound is thin and way to distorted!Such a shame.
Nothing against a tribute... But... Not sure if this can be called a tribute. Ow, instrumentally yes, but Tempest actually sound like not even a breeze while covering the GREAT Phil Mogg. He sounds like a puppy, trying to immitate the really BIG dog. And yes, I know I know, he has his own style of singing, and no, I know I know he isn't supposed to sound 100 % like Mogg. But hey folks, if you want to do a tribute, it has to come at least close to the original in power and quality. The only good news here is they didn't decide to cover MSG's Samurai, because covering Mogg singing a slow song is one thing, covering an unchained Bonnet is asking for the Moon wrapped in pink paper with green triangles on it.
Led Zeppelin.
Thank you!

too bad that the camera doush didnt focus on john
The singer sings this really well. It's not an easy song to sing, very well done man.
Que pedrada! Europe acertou em cheio com Love to love.
I loved UFO when I grew up, and this one of their best songs!
Love very much UFO band. And this song is in between of the 10th best songs ever.
John Norum is great. Highly underrated.
not according to many great musicians glenn hughes as one....
@@markusarrow where did Glenn Hughes say that?
Love this cover of Love to Love you. Europe does an excellent job!
NOTE: AT 1:38 SCHENKER'S DESERT SONG RIFF! other way round it's riff from Love To Love😏
right , He has a few others, the end of Coast to Coast/ Let sleeping dogs lie & others along !

I've never been a Europe fan, but....that was fantastic!!!!!!👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Great version and good to hear such a quality rendition of this timeless classic.
That was good
Accurate and respectful. Well done lads. ❤

Indeed it is but thank the stars Michael Schenker is still rocking it out
@@SGBlackstar yep absolutely saw him recently live at the O2 Academy Leeds, England. He’s still got it \m/ 🤟
« Love to love, to love YOU » Fantastic Band💕Joey it’s so wonderful singer🤷♀️I’m Guys so long time💋🎶👋

That's definitely the best cover of love to love I've ever heard . A really good end guitar solo . Very well done.

So very cool watching you guys play this, like it was back in the garage, or bathroom, if your like me.

OMG..just frikkin' awesome!!!!
Very nice cover.
Amazing song!
Amazing Cover I saw UFO in Boston 2 years ago. They tore the roof off!
Nailed the tone!!!!
Good job boys, you done it right.

This might remind one a bit of Axe, ‘Rock n roll part in the streets’. Nice piano.
Hi Axe!
I like this song.
Very rare cover!
Norum's Vintage flying V is a good sound and good play.
thank you.
That was very good!!! Love it
Excellent version 👍👍👍
the old school ufo was such a badass band
Norum animal on this one. Holy fk!

Beautiful
Qu'elle merveille !
Excellent, thank you kindly sir!
THEY ARE AMAZING! I LOVE YOU EUROPE :)
excellent solo
Muito bom!!!!
Man, I really wanted John to be the guitarist. In UFO. I love Vinnie's playing, but I think Mr. norum was the perfect choice
Jep,but then what about Europe??
Really enjoyed that, Axe. Thanks!
Europe Almost Umplugged
find it at
Amazondotcom
Happy New Year too man, thank you!
AXEFLYERFV: Nice cover, by a nice band. But the riff at 1:38 is not MGS´s Desert Song (it´s very similar though).
Thanx for tuning in & comment!

@Pukrysa1 thnx for tuning in my friend!
Norum loved Gary Moore and Michael Schenker and would suit UFO way more than Vinnie. Great player
Nice!
I might upset a lot of people, but I prefer this live version to the UFO one.
I think John Norum really nails the Michael Schenker solos.
+IJF1965 Agree, hard to do justice to a Schenker solo, but he really nails it
99% Schenker. Schenker would be impressed
Please put the bong down
No bongs mate. Just know an excellent guitarist when I see them play a classic and pull it off

A bit late comment but I agree!
Guitar did a great job, he needs to let the riff notes ring a tad.......great cover! RIP Peter Fredrick Way

так
I remember someone who would say, ‘white to white’. Maybe they were a bit more cultured than I and they were partially inspired by this song
Axe - Whats the name of the DVD this is taken from, if you know? I've got to order it just for this track!
Have a rockin' 2013
Almost Unplugged. The rest of it is pretty darn fantastic too
now i know were the stormwind riff comes from
Guitar player is on Point! without him this would have sucked!
Better than the original
you may like it better than the original studio version but Not better than the Strangers in the night live version .. :)
This is good stuff! The guitar sound is more like Schenker used to sound like in the old days with UFO.Now Schenkers sound is thin and way to distorted!Such a shame.
I agree . The magic disappeared unfortunately .
o soul in that voice
Who knew set2light's hero Norum was a Schenker freak...go figure...
what REALLY pisses me off about this is I cannot turn it up loud enough!
I LOVE it but it is just not loud enough... :)
early norums playing was largely influenced by schenker, later he was more "wannabe malmsteen"
Bullshit he has never been in to Yngwie.Uli roth roth and Ritchie blackmore yes!

desert song
Thats quite an um…..drum “set”🤔🤔🤔😳😳
Nice cover, but the dude didn't even know the band's name at 0:30 hauhuahuhu
Vocal is wimpy
