Good morning Becki and Chris Thanks again for taking us along on your helicopter adventures. I appreciate hearing the radio tower calls so that us non pilots can hear how that goes, because we all want to become helicopter 🚁 pilots and have fun adventurous life you guys. Thanks again guys
So excited for this new series! I hope you get to get to keep the matte black. It's not true Becki and Chris style without matte black. 😂 Have a safe trip.
That's cool! Instead of picking up a local A&P you'll have a road trip (IFR) and camp out. It takes 4 hours to break the whole thing down to parade rest and 4 hours to rebuild it. With run on torque. Sounds like a fun ride! Don't freeze to death! 😉
R44 pilot here. If you are transitioning through the beautiful state of Arkansas feel free to contact me for a stopover hangar, fuel, or any other needs! You are going to love the cross country trip to RHC! Great content!
KTOA is a nice airport. I picked up my SLING there in 2018 and flew it back to NY. The flight back was awesome, and all VFR, you guys will enjoy it. Make your last stop Sedona, restaurant on the field, beautiful scenery. That will put you 4-5 hours out from KTOA. Can’t wait for the series.
Recently discovered your channel and have been binging through your videos! The production quality of them is absolutely amazing. As an experimental helicopter owner, the concept of the helicopter expiring and having to factor in the remaining hours of the helicopter and the maintenance costs associated with that is completely foreign to me, and it's fun to see your planning out all of your adventures around it. I'm on the Vermont/New Hampshire border, and your heading east series convinced me to fly over to Lake Champlain and down to Portsmouth sometime this summer. I make videos, but I don't have any skill to edit them to anywhere near your quality. If you find your way back this way, I would love a chance to say hi!
I’d love to you some behind the scenes content again: your story boarding, thumbnail creation, shot list, script, etc. Can’t wait for this series and hope Chris gets to 500!
Hi guys, Chris your 500 hour problem could be solved by flying back with a higher time pilot. Not the end of the world and think about as some addition training. Great video again, and thanks so much for sharing, I learn a lot. Cheers
Not sure if you've stumbled on Ryan Hall Y'all on RUclips, but he does amazing weather reports for the entire country that might help with your cross country travel! Good luck guys!
This should be such a fun series! I can't wait to follow along. Love to see you guys meet up with Trent Palmer and explore some back country with him! Maybe Mike Patey too!
Definitely spend some time in northern AZ and southern Utah on the way west. Flagstaff is a beautiful area to fly especially as it gets closer to summer. Grand Canyon, lake Powell, definitely many beautiful places to build some hours.
I'm watching you two and I am enjoying every single second, one second at a time! Thanks so much for another awesome film story! -3 and sunny in Montreal this morning!
Oh, I am just catching on your videos. Hope I can still give you a request for your trip to California to get the Helicopter rebuilt. If you have the time or need more hours, Canon Beach, Oregon has an amazing beach. Catch low tide and you will see amazing sea life in the tidal pools. The haystacks have birds including Puffins! I was on the beach at sunrise to enjoy the low tide and early morning. Definitely a place for photos and video. I would love to see it through your eyes. Oh, I can't forget to let you know, I bought your Millennial Falcon sweater and your notebooks! I think you have made some great products!
With the latest Garmin radio panels, you can monitor the standby frequency.. That might be a cheaper option than buying a second radio. That said, it is veeeery convenient to have two radios...
For extra flight time on the trip towards California, you might consider Monument Valley, maybe stay overnight if you can land there in the hotel on the Mountain side that way getting sunset and sunrise shots. Couple of small airstrips nearby, but don’t know much about them. 🚁❣️
Question for Chris... I have followed your helicopter progress from your first days of training back in Western Canada. I believe you have followed Pilot Yellow out of Abbotsford - have you looked at their involvement with the new Hill Helicopter HX50? Curious about your thoughts on this new aircraft...Cheers
I‘m so excited for the series and everything that‘s coming along with it. So I wish you the best of luck for all the preparations and the road to 500k! As always, thanks for doing epic stuff like this and sharing it 😊
Can’t wait for this series! As a CPLH holder in canada wanting to convert to FAA, I often wonder how it is to fly in American airspace. Love that you include some of those comms and flight planning details! Safe flying to both of you ! 🚁
Just got hooked and watched a ton of the past couple series, looks like you all are going to have a heck of a time! Have fun! One question (fixed-wing pilot, rotary wings are magic): is the 2200hr/12yr limit a Robinson thing, or a general all-rotary-wing thing? May all your parts come in time and hope the 50hr doesn't find any surprises!
Thanks so much! Should be a time! I think they all have timeouts but the 12 year/2200 is specifically for Robinson, not too sure what they are for other helicopters!
I’ve driven across country 3 times when i was kid and there’s so many fun things to see from a car window, so it’ll be rad to see what it looks like through your eye/ millennial falcons eye lol. Definitely want to see the Tetons or honestly just any National park 🫶🏾
Looking forward to your epic x-c trip. Wow!!! Just a suggestion: How about re-tracing Route66 along the way whenever possible? Could be quite a nostalgic trip you and Becki and not to mention it may also appeal to us Motor City driver and pilots too.
Looking forward to this series! 🤘 When your helicopter gets rebuilt, does the FAA assign your aircraft a new call sign, or are you able to carryover your current one?
Stormtrooper paint would be cool. What would also be different, would be some kind of "rat rod" style painting, i.e. artificial weathering like e.g. the movie Millenium Falcon or other battle worn space/aircraft. Or you can get the paint scheme of T.C.'s helicopter from Magnum PI.
Hey Guys! Great vid! So exited to the her after her overhaul! Also if you want to you can maybe take it back to the guy in PA and Hopefully 🤞get your Matte Black Paint back! Cheers!
Lot's of hours, I'm sure Becki is thrilled. I haven't been up in the air for 3 years and have a trip to CT and the Netherlands in the next 2 months and I can't sleep thinking about how terrified I am. Good luck and can't wait to see the trip to CA.
So when my brother told me he and his former wife got to ride back home from Vegas in the big car. That meant the company’s private jet. So flying in style to the maintenance hanger was outstanding, felt like we were with you and zipped there. Then finding a “someone’s big car” home, don’t get me wrong I like both (who wouldn’t) but I am becoming a R44 bigger fan.
So when you get the bubble upgrade how will the camera look be then. I know it’s for safety and all but how will you decide the angle for interior. Or will you cross that bridge when it comes.
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 🚁🚁🚁🚁🚁🚁🚁🚁🚁🚁🚁 So excited for the new helicopter series ! I would like to know a bit more about the radio calls as well as the costing of the 500hours overhaul. Thanks for your vídeos guys 😊❤️
Can you please stop in southern Indiana in a town named Vincennes. There’s a place here in our town that has seriously the best pizza you guys will ever have. People from all over the US come here just for the pizza. The pizza place name is Bobes and this restaurant will not disappoint.
I keep spotting the door on Becki's side, and keeping hoping you don't suddenly yeet out...like that is "closed" right? :P (Just got to the bit in the video which explains that...phew!) Anyhow, love your videos and can't wait to watch this big trip! :D
Question for you...regarding the greenhouse effect in your helicopter...could you UV protect all of the windows of the helicopter with one of the highest protected films to help cut down on the heat coming through? I'm friends with a tint shop owner and I'm down in southern CA...I always get my cars tinted, but another option to help with the heat from the sun is that there are UV films that are "clear". Let me know if that's an option for you...I could always introduce you to my friends when you make it to California?
You should try to meet fellow U-Tubers. Like meeting Micah Muzio. He fly's a Robinson and you can go get pie. He also has flown his helicopter cross country.
What are the chances of a Trent Palmer collab on the heading west series? Or maybe some flying with the Patey crew in Utah? Also some advice, don’t fly over Wyoming in the afternoon unless you like turbulence. Normally the air is great until about 10-11am.
Hey, I love your videos! I have a question about noise pollution and what solutions there are to make the vehicle quieter for the people on the ground. I live over by universal studios in Florida and there are a lot of helicopter tours that fly above my neighborhood, at least 1 every 15 mins. I also happen to be on the flight path for The Orlando International Airport. There is a ton of noise and I was just curious as to what solutions there are to suppress the noise coming from the craft themselves?
There are technological solutions, but they're very costly and not practical for most light civilian helicopters like an R-44. The military has designed engine noise suppression methods and rotor blade designs that greatly reduce noise for "stealthy" insertion of troops, but $$$$$$$ and probably also classified.
Speaking of bird strikes. Working at a helicopter tour company. One of the pilots was telling a story of taking his passengers to the Grand Canyon and looking away for a moment to point at the sights and when he looks forward again, an eagle was heading straight to him. He had to quickly maneuver around it and scared the passengers. 😂
Don’t complain about the ac while y’all are in buffalo, I fly in south Florida, will never forget seeing 40°c during run up on my solo cross country for my ppl 😭
Loving this episode, so stoked for the series. Are you two going to camp sone on this one? It would be cool to see you two collab with Trent Palmer the pilot. I wonder if there’s an In-N-Out with a field next to it to land in. Epic lunch. 😂 Quick Cody Wanner Collab while in PA? 🤔😀 Sounds like an EXPENSIVE trip. 😬❤️
Could you get a ferry permit to move the helicopter to Torrance if you run out of time? And could a ferry pilot pick up it up at Robinson if you don"t get 500 hours?
I’m a fixed wing guy, but I’m pretty sure he’s either misinformed, or he’s really just trying to solve the problem in the way that he finds optimal. AFAIK, he, being the owner and having insurance, should be able to pick up the bird himself. At worst, he might have to pay a ferry pilot to fly the bird for a short flight, which is small money in the grand scheme of aircraft ownership.
So now that you spoiled Becki with a ride in what appears to be a Cessna Citation, are you going to give up on the Robinson and go for multi-engine transport? If not, I would hope that Robinson, realizing all of the free advertising you provide, will support your custom paint scheme and interior requests.
Realizes I clearly need a better friends rolodex, to have "private jet arranger" in the list...
Good morning!! We finally added some apparel to our merch line, you can check them out here bit.ly/BCMERCHSHOP 🖤
Good morning Becki and Chris
Thanks again for taking us along on your helicopter adventures.
I appreciate hearing the radio tower calls so that us non pilots can hear how that goes, because we all want to become helicopter 🚁 pilots and have fun adventurous life you guys.
Thanks again guys
I LOVE the way the vibration from the helicopter makes voices shake when talking!
So excited for this new series! I hope you get to get to keep the matte black. It's not true Becki and Chris style without matte black. 😂 Have a safe trip.
Thanks! Us too 🤞🏼

Come on up North and we'll fly a formation with C-FMVU - fly off some hours and take some pictures.
Getting close to 400k!!! also Torrance is right up the street from me like 7 minutes away! It’s crazy you’re coming all this way to my home town !
Thoroughly enjoyable. Loved this. 🦘👍
R44 pilot here. If you are transitioning through the beautiful state of Arkansas feel free to contact me for a stopover hangar, fuel, or any other needs! You are going to love the cross country trip to RHC! Great content!

Thank you for this video! It explains why you were in our neck of the woods (Reno, NV) to spend time with Trent Palmer.
OMG SOOOOOOOOOO HAPPY for this new upcoming serie and maybe pocasts! 🤩
Can’t imagine the cost to redo your Heli. Catching a private flight back to Buffalo was so cool.
Finally! A Big Helicopter Series!!
This should be such a fun series! I can't wait to follow along. Love to see you guys meet up with Trent Palmer and explore some back country with him! Maybe Mike Patey too!

Looking forward to the big cross-America series! 🚁
I really enjoy these episodes about the helicopter. Thanks and good luck on this journey.
Great flying! And you’re welcome… glad you got a little right seat time in a citation! Add that time to your log book! Hahah

Very excited about this!
Exciting! Love your big projects and this sounds super ambitious!
How much is the overhall. Would it be better to buy a new larger one ? With the overhaul do you get another 12 years ?
YES! Great announcement from you two! I'm looking forward to following along on the trip and to see the overhauled bird when it's done 👊

Can you get tinted windows to help lower the temps? Would make the A/C more efficient also if you get that upgrade.
‘Coles Notes’ 🇨🇦 Love it!
I'm liking this. When you hit AZ...check out the 'Crater' that may have wiped out the dinosaurs. It's after Flagstaff and south of Route 66.
Looking forward to this series! 🤘
When your helicopter gets rebuilt, does the FAA assign your aircraft a new call sign, or are you able to carryover your current one?
Makes me appreciate my glider. Major overhaul required at 6000 hours. It's currently at 3600 hours total. And it's 36 years old...

Why didn’t you consider Sevierville County Choppers in TN? Largest RHC anywhere and stellar reputation, cheaper and no red tape.
I think this video is the most "first world problem" ever, and been a "first world problems" RUclips channel mean a lot.

I LOVE YOUR HELICOPTER VIDEOS
And I thought an oil change on an Audi was expensive. This is next level..
I don’t think so, our only solution is to fly neighborly and not fly low over people’s houses
There are technological solutions, but they're very costly and not practical for most light civilian helicopters like an R-44. The military has designed engine noise suppression methods and rotor blade designs that greatly reduce noise for "stealthy" insertion of troops, but $$$$$$$ and probably also classified.

Q: Is it possible to get a helicopter license and pass the medical with a cervical spine injury and pain killers?

Could you get a ferry permit to move the helicopter to Torrance if you run out of time? And could a ferry pilot pick up it up at Robinson if you don"t get 500 hours?
I’m a fixed wing guy, but I’m pretty sure he’s either misinformed, or he’s really just trying to solve the problem in the way that he finds optimal.
