I'd never believe that I would ever get the opportunity to say this; but I bought my KLX 230 yesterday here in Sweden. Mine has the black plastics and ABS brakes. I'm right there with you man, awesome exploring / cow trailing, awesome sound, I love that I can hear that engine and at the same time listen to you rambling. Awesome stuff, keep it up.
I've read your posts on sporthoj, I'm hooked at buying one, but then I saw they made the klx250 water cooled just some give years ago for the same price, so then I started to think about how that's much more for the money.
Where did you read my post? It is a great bike. I like how simple the 230 is and its alot lighter then the 250. It was only a little bit more to buy new with a warranty. Let me know what bike you get man. Enjoy the ride
@Jayson, I think Max meant my posts on the Sporthoj.com forum about my KLX230. I usually explore everywhere possible, taking pictures posting them. And ofcourse asking alot of questions about motorcycles in general. As I found out, people rarely buy these semi-light bikes here in Sweden, even the seller told me that "you will need a heavier bike". Which I've already had, I sold my last heavy bike, a Yamaha XJ900, two weeks ago and I don't regret it. Now I can focus on my awesome "little" KLX instead ;)
Thank you for the nice Review and ride along ! We are looking at the same model now and really like the size and versatility of the KLX 230 . " Kawasaki let's the good times roll " 👍
Now that's living! Beautiful forest ride. Audio is great. Can hear you fine. Can hear the bike. Can hear the breeze through your helmet from time to time. Perfect. All the reasons you listed are why I want KLX230 as well. Just one thing is missing for me as a new rider and that's a tach. But not totally necessary I guess. And there's always aftermarket. If a guy goes straight back out to buy the same bike...it's gotta be that good!
Haha yeah this bike is sick. Everything I want from a bike. You can hear the engine get loud and fast and you'll know to shift. Or your lose power and know you maxed that gear out and time to shift. It's a very forgiving clutch. Happy trails and yes the Redwoods are the best.
On the street it'd be nice to see especially since the technology is easily accessible. Still I understand what you mean cause the bike is a blast without it. Ride safe.
Great review. I want to get a bike that is street legal yet I can do some exploring in the North Georgia forest service roads. I love the way the KLX looks and sounds. I've been obsessed with these bikes for a while. One of my friends has one in Colorado. I've been looking around for a used one.
Heck yeah man. I have this on the back of my RV. Light enough and enough power for me. Happy trailz and subscribe man. I'll be riding this bike all over the country.
Bikes a champ for sure 🏆 steady power, climbs like a mountain goat and the 6th gear is most impressive because it doesn’t scream. My will bog at 120km.
Congrats man. My girlfriend is a travel nurse and we live in our 37ft RV. This motorcycle goes everywhere. Subscribe and when your in the PNW reach out for a group ride.
Scott here. Just bought a 2022 klx230 from Fox inc in roxboro nc. And I've owned may big cc bikes from gold wing, Kawasaki versys 650 to sportster 883. My last bike was Suzuki dr 650. Loved that bike! Kept 7yrs. Sold, missed and craved another bike. I never used the power or torque of big bikes. I enjoy country roads. Exploring new roads and just a great stress relief. I bought the klx230. Nice bike. Fuel injection is great. It's a 6speed transaction, yes. But, it's geared very low due to the smaller displacement. But, upon riding it. I discovered it could use a sprocket up front with one additional tooth which is equivalent to going down 3-4 on rear wheel. Which would be perfect. 1st gear is ultra low. Therefore higher ratio could benefit the klx230. And would lessen the high rpms in 6the gear. Though you'd like to know.
Nice man congrats on the bike. It is basically perfect and I still love it. I'll definitely check out the sproket. Let me know what you get. Ride safe sir
@@jaysonsvisions5024 hey Jason. Scott barnes here. I'm replying to your reply. Ok. I just purchased the klx230. As you know, 1st gear is extremely low! Truthfully, you can take off on highway in 2nd gear. And in 6th gear it's tacking up. Not sure how high, but on RUclips dynojet tests the klx230 on dyno and revs to 8000rpm. I'm 230lbs in weight. If I was 180lbs again. Dude, it would be so much better. So I purchase a 15tooth sprocket by sunstar. Powerdrive counterpart sprocket. Part number: 34115. Fits kawasaki el250, ninja250r, z250sl. Works wonderfully! Takes off in 1st so much better. All through the gears. Smoother and 6th doesn't whine out as before. So, so much better for highway use. I'm not an off roader. I do like exploring gravel roads off path. You don't have to purchase new chain either. Was easy to install. Feels more like my dr 650 now. Excluding the torque. Try the sprocket. I think you'll like it. 29.00. Only other choice is going down 2 teeth in rear and leaving 14 tooth up front. Let me know please how you like it.
Wow man that's interesting to know. I will keep that in mind and take a note of it. I've been riding mostly on country back roads and getting ready to hit some single track. A
Nice. I think I'm going to go with this over the Yamaha XT250 . This sounds amazing & the 6th gear, The seat is a little higher on this but I think my weight will allow me to flat foot. It would be my first bike too. I'm 5'7' 190 just over 50 just looking for peaceful trail rides nothing challenging. Dork In The Road had a sweatshirt of a dual sport that said - Like Hiking Only Faster- that's what I'm looking for
Nice man that's exactly why I got this. Go explore without having to walk much. I sat on the xt250 and thought about it since the seat was lower. I just made a seat height video sir go check it out. Hit that subscribe button and enjoy the ride. Happy trailz and let me know what bike you get.
Glad to see you back on the trails. Exceptional place to ride. I don't mind the mike. Like hearing the engine and tires on the terrain. Do you notice any difference between the first and the new bike? I would assume they run, shift, brake, ride exactly the same. Hope your channel grows. You deserve it.
Thank you brother it is a amazing area. Yeah the bikes are exactly the same. I totally appreciate all the support. You were one of my first subs man I'm trying to make better videos for you guys. Happy trailz dog.
I really like the 230 also, but now that they upgraded the 250 to a 300 for only $1k more than the 230, and it has better suspension. I don’t see why not to get that... but I like the air cooled simplicity.
I love the simplicity of the 230. Its lightweight and air cooled like you said. The 230 has enough power for highways and super fun on forestry roads. As a first real bike this is perfect for me. Good luck and happy trails
Got the 2021. Pirelli MT16s front and back, Yoshimura exhuast coming, hopefully soon. I had to pull the baffle out, mostly so I don't sneak up on wildlife when riding. I can't tell you how many times I've almost been clipped by a buck or doe, scampering out of my way. Even making noise, it's sketchy. They are everywhere. Anything bigger than this 230 or a 250, is just too much bike for some of the trails I ride.
Haha yeah I've snuck up on some deer also and we all freeze up for a sec. I wouldn't want anything bigger either this bike is perfect. Enjoy the bike sir and subscribe
isn't that place the north end of del norte county? I lived in northwest Humboldt county, very close to Klamath. The redwoods there are all kinds of beautiful and kinda huge too! lol, after seeing those trees everything else is just kinda eha... nice bike.

this is now a old video but I would still like to comment. When riding these type of roads , remember to think about a deer coming out in front of yo. It happened to me wasn't fun.

I just bought a KLX230. What is your opinion of the IRC tires? Are they an accident waiting to happen or are they half way decent? I've seen a few washout videos including your first crash and it has me concerned, but you never know if its the tire or operator error. On that first crash was it the tires that just gave out or something else? I'm considering the Dunlop D605 tires but would like to stick with the OEM IRCs for a while if they're decent. I'm a slow and boring rider. I've learned in the past that the ground hurts! Any feedback would be appreciated.
Welcome to the club sir and hopefully you subscribed. Haha that first crash was my fault. I hit the brakes while rolling over 2 fist sized rocks and they all slide out. I was also in the "gutter" so if I was a foot over it would've been smoother and probably wouldn't have crashed. I think if I let a little bit of air out they would be better for off road use. I'm super new to bikes and tires so I'm just going to ride the stock ones until they need to be replaced. That's my opinion. The crash video to watch is when I totaled the first 230. Ride safe sir damn death traps around every corner.
Yeah bro the tires aren't bad at all. The PSI needed to be adjusted tho. I definitely plan on upgrading but I want to get my money outta the stock ones first. I guess I'm kinda cheap, Haha.
