- On the night of December 21, a deadly attack on a Pakistan Army outpost in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa resulted in the confirmed deaths of 16 soldiers. The Pakistani Taliban (TTP) claimed responsibility for the assault, stating that it was in retaliation for the killing of their senior commanders. Approximately 30 TTP fighters launched the attack from three sides, overpowering the outpost, reported AFP.
