Many people have asked me how did this story add up. It’s 100% true, and much of it was left unsaid for privacy. This guy had schizophrenia and was probably bipolar as well. He got into a fight in Venice beach and was arrested without ID. He probably lost his passport somewhere in LA. After his release, on the way to lax to fly home Aleph institute arranged a stop at the Israeli consulate to get travel documents

If he travelled back to Israel on a plane, he must have had a passport, so how come the jail authorities couldn't identify him?
