  • Polina Kindra spent almost three months in Ukrainian territory under Russian occupation trying to get her grandson back. Nine-year-old Mykyta Bilanchuk has health problems and was recuperating at a boarding school in Ukraine's Kherson region when Russia launched its full-scale invasion in February 2022.

    Russians made her jump through hoops hoping she'd give up. What a wonderful grandmother.

    If the editors added a note to the subtitles to indicate what language was being spoken, it would be informative for viewers who don't speak Ukrainian or Russian.

    Badass grandma! If she was older I could have made an alliteration, with Badass Babushka, but since she's younger than I am, I'm going to stick with the former. That takes some serious guts, though. And you can tell by the smile on he commissioner's face that there are good Russians, as well.

      Only the commissioner is the woman who is responsible for many of these kidnappings. Or at the least, she should be working to prevent them.

    • @ruadhbeag
      @ruadhbeag 6 месяцев назад

      That "commissioner" is the official responsible for thousands of Ukrainian children being taken to Russia illegally to be "Russified". There is an international warrant for her arrest for war crimes.

      Wouldn't surprise me, actually, but I thought that was a different woman, the one on the sanctions/war crimes list. Could be mistaken. And yeah, the smile could just be for optics. @@llywrch7116

      Agree, there’s no boarding schools for special needs children in Ukraine, all this story with volunteer from Poland who was allowed to help is bs, what happened to his parents ? Child was in orphanage and evacuated due to hostilities to Russia.

    • @1midnightfish
      @1midnightfish 6 месяцев назад +2

      @@helenasalicki6596 Your comment is what sounds like bs.There are boarding schools for special needs children in Ukraine. Terminology sometimes changes in translation. And in any case that child, like thousands of others, was abducted by russia and was being brainwashed into forgetting he's Ukrainian and faced with a permanent separation from his family. That's what matters.

      @@1midnightfish Im from this part of the world and no one will pull this propaganda on me about abducted children. Children were evacuated not abducted.
