    flipped my car a few times into a ditch and the only injury at all was a grade 3 ac separation. I am so blessed wasn't worse but everyone seeing this knows it is still pretty bad. it has been a year and three months and I am finally about to go see my surgeon..... I am terrified and relieved more than anything. I really appreciate you making this video series. I have very bad anxiety so seeing it already go down. I am a cosmetologist and my arm is my money so I don't care what anyone says I need this done asap. thank you for all the tips! hope it works!

      @@joeldunsdon6718 Doing great! Unfortunately my shoulder wasn't the only injury in my accident but just about everything is repaired now. I'm back in the gym, actually on my way there now (: I've been in contact with Nick too. He just had his done a week or two ago. I had the AC Lockdown version of the surgery. It's a synthetic ligament and it's crazy strong so far. I believe Nick used a ligament from his arm. The first month of recovery sucks, maybe worse than the injury itself in my case. But everything is looking positive right now, my biggest challenges physically are pectoral flys, lat pull down, and sometimes getting out of bed on that side. Flat bench isn't great but it's coming back. They cut your deltoid in half basically and that attaches to your pec, so you should expect to have weakness there for awhile.

    • @joeldunsdon6718
      @joeldunsdon6718 5 лет назад +1

      @@levireynolds5934 thanks for the reply mate. Great, I'm happy to hear that your surgery has been a success. My surgeon also favours the lockdown procedure. That makes sense as far as the shoulder muscle goes. And yes I've heard that post OP can be worse than post injury, but it's all about the final outcome right. How far off of returning to sports are you now?

      Hey Lois, getting surgery is definitely no walk in the park, and the recovery it tough, but hopefully after a few months your arm will feel good again! The first month is definitely tough, but you'll get a new appreciation for having two working arms. It is surprising how fast the time passes though. If you work hard at physical therapy the surgery will definitely be worth it. Good luck!
