i had the great honour and pleasure of working with the mighty james slater on this video he has done a beautiful job of capturing the energy of the song with a kind of zoetrope based animation video collage. james is the greatest.
clever idea zoetrope! remember hubs wanted to make one for physics lesson at school and an old edwardian set of encyclopaedias had a section on them so searched that out and think photocopied the images to make one up... just been to see them tonight, love this song! well done on the vid 🙂
Is anyone else reminded of traditional music from Zambia and Zimbabwe? Or am I just bias? Stunning song, even though it hits hard as I am struggling at the moment.
Listened to you on bbc iPlayer from Glastonbury this year and loved it. This song was in my head and I knew it was you but couldn’t find it. A hard one to search for. Thank you. Beautiful stuff. X
God, I friggin' LOVE THIS WOMAN!!! She's my 'new' PJ Harvey! My 'new' Kate Bush! My 'new' Allison Goldfrapp! My 'new' Bjork! My 'new' Karen Dalton (it's the Banjo regarding this comparison!) =oD So, yeah, I'm worshipping at Ms.Stables' altar nowadays! Thanks for the signed postcard and free Earthquake on blue 7" vinyl, Kate!!! XxXx
Just heard this on the radio coming home from work and was delighted and intrigued. This is probably the most refreshing music I've heard in the last couple of years. I'm gonna look into the Kit!
Between the healthy relationship I've been building with my mental health, and my challenging relationship with my body (recently underwent shoulder surgery due to years of overstrain at work and not holding my boundaries); this song couldn't have reached me at a better time. Let's just say I teared up when I heard this song.
Really nice. Good song, good arrangement, good production and mix. Was unknown to me until just now on R6. Good to know music still holds hidden delights.
Discovered Kate Stables beautiful voice through her collaboration with Jesca Hoop, from the album Stone Child. So, I'm relatively new to "The Kit". Can't stop spinning Off Off On! Looking forward to discovering more of Kate and the Kit.
Rejoice, Rejoice, new This is The Kit!!! And it's wonderful, of course! Roll on October and the new album. Something to celebrate at last : ) Thank you xxx
I'm not getting it on first listen - but that's OK. No doubt it will reveal itself to me gradually over many listens, and that's even better sometimes. This is the Kit have already earned my trust.
Hi :1) There might be some mysterious forces working in the background here, after watching BTS of making of video and the connection between 33 & 45 & it being on a record player (spooky)
As a Christian, these lyrics appeal to me. Pretty much feel that that is inappropriate and privileged and I'm not welcome here. But peace to all. Great tune.
Sure, except for how it has different melodies, different instrumentation, different lyrics, different song structure, and different production. You really think Gonzalez invented singing over guitar arpeggios?
You know, I've seen a few people say this, and I've got ask; do you think Gonzalez invented this kind of music? Cause, from what I've heard, there's nothing he's doing that Joni Mitchell, Toni Morrison, Tori Amos, Eddie Reader, Feist, etc. weren't doing back in the eighties. And you're really going to say a three minute up-tempo falk-rock track is a rip-off of a seven minute ambient ballad because ... they both have guitar arpeggios? The thing people have been using since the guitar was invented? Is it because thay have similar subjects? Anxiety is a pretty universal theme. Are the chord sequences too similar? I hate to break it to you, but artists use similar chord sequences all the time. If you want radically inventive harmonies you should listen to someone like Ornette Coleman.

This song gives me the best excitement!from Japan!!!
I have loved this song since it first came out, but this video is incredible! Wow.
Between the healthy relationship I've been building with my mental health, and my challenging relationship with my body (recently underwent shoulder surgery due to years of overstrain at work and not holding my boundaries); this song couldn't have reached me at a better time.
Let's just say I teared up when I heard this song.
This might be the fastest I've ever bought a song after first hearing it. Thank you!

KBHR on the shirt...as in the Big Bear Lake, California USA radio station??? They are actually eclectic enough to play this.
Kbhr as in the radio station in Northern Exposure. But the station you're talking about sounds every bit as excellent!
@@thisisthekit Ah, thanks. KBHR in Big Bear is a real station. Love the track. I called them and told them to play it!
@@thisisthekit I spotted that immediately - love a trip to the Alaskan Riviera!
can you get this on kaleidoscope?
what?!
Better get outside... but from a distance...
I’m sorry I’m late to the party! 🥶
oof, think quite a few people will find this relatable :/
This song is too short, pleez make them longer.
Is it holding you down, this great weight and this flattening?
As a Christian, these lyrics appeal to me. Pretty much feel that that is inappropriate and privileged and I'm not welcome here. But peace to all. Great tune.
Like if Seize Them brought you here
This is the shit.
José González...female version...a abad thing ? no, but could it continue? we shal see
I suppose i will show my wife
This is a rip off of Cycling trivialities by Jose Gonzalez!!!
