You get many varieties of Banana in TamilNadu. The red one is called Sevvazhai. It is generally given to sick people and many believe it helps to get better and rich in nutrients. Other one I believe is Karpuravali(Camphor girl), it has a minty flavor and taste is mild. That's my favorite banana. Or it should be mala pazham(mountain fruit), without minty flavor but more tastier. Then there is Rasthali , this is strong flavor and very common. But the most common in TN is called Poovam pazham which you can smell from a room even before you end. Strongest flavor and tastes pretty sweet. Another good breed is pacha pazham(green fruit), they are far more tastier generally greener than Cavendish/Morris Bananas(the common big ones. I miss bananas living in europe 😭

And lastly, that red 'jello' kinda sweet is solidified halwa. As I said, the sweets you tasted wouldn't be the 'best' versions of it. By the way Michelle, Benjamin and anyone else if you ever come to MEDELLÍN, COLOMBIA, please go to LA MIGUERIA (there are like 4 points of sale in MEDELLÍN and look for them on Google) and ask for the Pan De Chocolate. It's DELICIOUS. Never been let dow (disappointed for people who are learning English. I'm an English language teacher and travel enthusiast with adventure). That shop also has many other AWESOME sweet pastry and as well as salty pastry.
Some sweet pastries sound nice, thanks :)
