- A video has gone viral on social media of the co-owner of Hank's Old Irish Pub in Cape Town being called out for a racist incident.
In the clip, a man believed to be a friend of the victim is confronting the owner, after his black friend was denied entry. He claims the bouncer said according to the pub's right of admission policy, he needed to be accompanied by a white person.

We really have tried to teach people how to not be racist, but some just cannot change because of how they are raised. We might need to exile the racists now or build a facility of rehabilitation where they can be taken to do their time after they have been found guilty of racism

It was a halfway through watching the original video before I realized this is all happening in South Africa. Imagine walking in to someone else’s house claiming it as you own, forcing them into the shed, then telling them they aren’t allowed to move freely about in their own home. P.s. I’ve seen the CCTV video too and it’s plainly obvious that people within the bar started the altercation.
How many countries within the globe have done exactly what you describe - shunt the indigenous peoples into sheds while they enjoy the spoils of their land.

I was once told by the bar man at Hennies Montana to hand him my car keys if I wish to open a bar tap or else I have to pay for every drink I order. I asked why, and he said black people always leave the bar without paying their bills, so it's their way of protecting themselves. I had already ordered a drink, I immediately paid for my drink and left before even touching it. Never went there again.
