You launch your ship’s cryobot and watch the feed as it drops away toward the smooth frozen surface. Contact! The probe then punches through the ice and slips into a saltwater ocean, sending signals back to your viewscreen through a long cable and an antenna bot left starside.
Through the viewscreen you see strange shapes, underwater silicate mountains, hazy and wavy under the cryobot’s powerful lights. Then, floating into view …
