Any supposed apology that includes "or whatever" is completely insincere. She's banned from any job around children for the probation period, but maybe there needs to be a registry for serious child abuse that resembles the sex offender registry.

We have 2 separate systems here I assume similar in other states. The department of Human Services also does either a child protection or vulnerable adult investigation separately from the criminal system. My son with special needs was also abused as was my father in assisted living. Both with witnesses and video. Without that, many cases go nowhere we have been told. I'm also a county case manager for adults with special needs, and have seen many cases not protect our kids and vulnerable adults.
Anyway, the two women who abused my dad were charged criminally and only one did the jury find guilty (the poor one who couldn't afford a private attorney to get her off) but BOTH were found responsible by DHS and can't pass a background check for any job requiring a DHS background check. That's required for any human service job here. They are excluded from providing direct services. Stinks especially for the one who was just taking her nursing boards who got off her criminal charge. But she chose to toss an old man with dementia around his room, pit her arm around his neck in a choke hold to remove clothes, and kneeled on his chest because he couldn't understand her or move fast enough. The terror in his voice and words was the most heartbreaking thing ever. 💔
Thank heaven she can't pass the background check here....but it's not national.

I dunno, when someone reads off of a prepared script, it leaves me completely unaffected or even a little annoyed if anything. Like, how could you *possibly* not remember what you want to say about a matter that supposedly affected you and/or your loved ones so heavily? Do you really need a teleprompter for this? Can't you just speak from the heart and not give a damn about sounding eloquent? But then I'm a sociopath and I know we tick very differently from you normies. Also, that sentencing seems pretty lenient for what she did. Should be at least a few months mandatory jail time. It's not gonna fix anything, but it might discourage her from doing this again.

Come to find out the school district gave one of the administrators delinquent son a job driving the bus for special needs children. Several children were hurt by his aggressive driving and the driver had one of the children, a little girl he had stand beside him while he drove; it was definitely his world. This was in Oklahoma in about 1987. I went to the school board and they acted like it was nothing because children were nonverbal and they couldn't say anything so there was nothing we could do. I liked Judge Simpson before seeing this, and now I think he's amazing. If there had been a way to bar her from ever working with children again or to even in any sort of elder care situation (because she would abuse any helpless being), that would have been totally warranted.

Yo there, your honor, your compassion actually bestirred my dormant heart. Damn near made me cry. Not joking. Like to see more of this in our justice system, and I thank you.

the fact that the school district thinks they will be able to hold a 7 year old criminally liable is DISGUSTING. shame on ann arbor school systems for supporting this OBVIOUS ABUSE.

What is the backstory to this case? It seems vaguely familiar, but I'd like the details if I can find them.

@@Nexus_of_SominusI can't find anything that shows the school board is trying to hold the kid criminally liable, but if you want to know more, just search for Rochanda Jefferson. She is the one that hit the child.
