“The basic confrontation which seemed to be colonialism versus anti-colonialism, indeed capitalism versus socialism, is already losing its importance. What matters today, the issue which blocks the horizon, is the need for a redistribution of wealth. Humanity will have to address this question, no matter how devastating the consequences may be.”
― The Wretched of the Earth
“Sometimes people hold a core belief that is very strong. When they are presented with evidence that works against that belief, the new evidence cannot be accepted. It would create a feeling that is extremely uncomfortable, called cognitive dissonance. And because it is so important to protect the core belief, they will rationalize, ignore and even deny anything that doesn’t fit in with the core belief.”

I dont think the works of Fanon are your strong point. This is such a disservice to him and what he contributed. A disappointing and offensive effort.

The real problem isn’t with the instructor’s analysis or interpretation but your attitude. You do yourself and potentially the Black community a great disservice when you clearly haven’t practiced any due diligence by reading the works of Hegel, Marx, Sorel, and Sartre that which Fanon’s work is built upon. This obsession over the instructor’s skin color or hair is blinding some of you to recognize that the analysis is spot on. You ought to understand that your wreckless online disdain can have actual consequences if you continue to direct it at people whose aim is to come to teach our history and show solidarity in our struggle. Not everyone who teaches Black history and critical theory is black so get over it. Do yourself a favor and read the German Idealists from Kant to Nietzsche and the Existentialists from Kierkegaard to Sartre to better understand how the great Africana thinkers got radicalized such as Du Bois, Nkrumah, Newton, Toure, Davis, MLK and West.
