I love this series. Such quality insight from the true representers of hip-hop.
I can remember like it was yesterday...
Monday-Friday... Walking to high school with my big headphones bumping this album...
Black Moon played a major influence in my overall music creativity...
& That's even in this present state of Hip-Hop Music.. 1Luv

I got to say the same thing too, that was one cool ass interview man. It is very rare after you watch a hip hop interview or just music interview on somebody all together that, was just the dopest ever. You feel like, your brain cells either regenerated some type of special formula that just made you feel like you got a little wiser after the fact.
I had just hit high school when Black Moon came to the game. As a extreme music head, I always felt & still til this day that Buckshot is one of the most underrated M.C's in the Game..
the mind tricks the body, body thinks the mind is crazy.. that line is monumental
Back when I was listening to Black Moon, I had NO IDEA he was this well spoken. That's one thing that impresses me about Lupe as well. It's good to hear people with real thoughts and insights. I really like this clip.
As far as I'm concerned Buckshot's voice alone is Hip-Hop. If you listen to that "Enta Da Stage" album, he sounds so hungry, and not "hungry" where he's trying to be the best MC. It's that hunger that we don't see anymore, it's the hunger of the LOVE of the artform. It's sad that it's sooo rare nowadays.
Buckshot is an intelligent and informative subject, wonderful interview.
I grew up listening to Buckshot..my favorite artist..he inspired me to help others in music..and I'm from GA..in the 90's..They made songs and put stories together for a purpose to set trends and make classic's.
That song STILL bangs bwoy. Some folx talent is timeless.
Being from the west coast/south, it was artist like this that kept me bumpin east coast music, 2 turn tables and a mic nuff said
Buck is like a highly concentrated form of Hip-Hop... Thanks for your dedication, I was into Black Moon from the first second.
Artistically beautiful, well spoken and a blessing to hear. Although, I would say BlackMoon was old school (maybe not true school like KRS Rackim, Stetsasonic, RUN DMC, Whodini, etc) but old school, original, real hip hop. I really felt what he was saying in regards to "styles of artists" and not necessarily "styles of hip hop". Well done. Glad I happened upon the True Hip Hop stories. Keep going and hopeful reclaiming the spoken word art form. Give love to the DJ too. (and the beatboxers)
Black moon one of my favorite groups from back in the day buckshot still has skills giving them their credit and respect that they deserve 🙏🙏🙏🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲💪💪💪

I really enjoy D-Nice's Series. Keep this up D!
Yup! your right Buckshot, these new rappers did get political, and gave us "My president is Black, My Lambo is Blue"
Thank you D-Nice!!
there are many different eras that HIP HOP shined and HIP HOP still shines 2day. my point, '86 - '95 was the BEST ERAs of HIP HOP, styles were in abundance (as Buckshot) was talking about. Black Moon, Smiff and Wessun, Heltah Skeltah, the BOOT CAMP CLIK, was da shit! "YESH YESH Y'ALL HELTAH SKELTAH BDC BE THE BEST Y'ALL, YESH YESH Y'ALL!!'
one of my fav verses
The incredible lyrical and original... Sick!
I want to thank D-Nice for putting this together. Love the quality of the video too.
Ditto what the brother David Kemp wrote! I was thinking the same thing before I saw your post. Buckshot looks so much like Rakim it's ridiculous. He's like a lighter shorter blood relative. Handsome.
Shot out to KRS ONE. He saw the vision. I'm glad they're still laying tracks. Sweet. Black Moon was apart of the Glory days of Hip Hop. Right out of that New Jack era. I'll never forget it!!
This is some hot shit. Respect due. Keep them coming D!
Like he said, hip hop is hip hop. Don't matter if it's NY, ATL, L.A, Chi-Town. The only thing I will say is that hip hop is definitely an American thing. And the core of it is uniquely African American / Latino based. Meaning that African Americans, and Latino American culture is heavly reflected in the music. You can come from other countries and join in what we started, but remember when you do hip hop music where it comes from. Respect the culture... I Am Hip Hop!!!
Word ! LEGEND
How Many Emcees one of the greatest records ever man
big respect to buck! great vid.
Dope The Legend!

A true legend
My dad said hip hop would fade out cause it was a fad. He told me that shit when I was 10 i'm 32 now. Dude that was 22 years ago, ha ha. Hip hop adapts and changes but always "Survives" Hip Hop will never die.
enta da stage is one of the greatest albums of all . mr. walt & evil dee are the shit
"Hip Hop is not a Job, it's a Talent" Wow! So many folks these days done lost that message.

Very true,
Peace to BUCK. Met dude in the BX Backstage at a CAZ/ MELLE MELL Concert. Dude is a humble cat. Peace to The whole Cliq
Buckshot is a wise man
Most Definitely!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nuff Respect!!!!!!!!
he is handsome and intelligent
Good clip from a NY Great!
Buckshot is right on STYLES and the danger of CATEGORIZING Hip Hop. Duke Ellington warned cats about COMPARTMENTALIZING JAZZ.
Most of the time Duke didn't even call his music "Jazz" he called it Sacred Music. He would say "The Music of Charles Mingus" or "The Music of Dizzy Gillespie" etc
Buckshot all day !
Long Live Pure Music,to hell with categories.
Innovators stay beyond category.
Notice how much more Intelligent the old school heads sound even during Interviews.
What's the beat in the backgroud when he's talking about KRS1?
Buck is difinily one of the realist who came throw the game. Real talk!!! My top five
No isn't just you he looked like Rakim in the buck em down video.
@thekrinker loved that track with Buck Shot and Sean Price called "The Pledge" ... real hip-hop

ENTA DA STAGE-NOCTURNAL-DA STORM-DA SHININ-STILL FOR THE PEOPLE.....CLASSIC BCC...
Play it for the kiddies like our parents played their music around us. In the end they will come to like it and know real music as well.
Great Video Im mad that Im just seeing it lol
Testify! Just cuz you like a style doesn't change the category of music
Buckshot... WORD!
I want a Duck Down hat!
5:07-5:22
Rarely have truer words on Hip Hop been spoken before.
@priceyhabits Exactly right. Sucks when people say "Hip Hop is Dead" when I know there is Shad K
He came to Binghamton University and I was there.
@Latimish yes true
Still is, still does :)
WORD

@noirnoticvibe Intelligent Hoodlum was an era b4 Nas. He came out in 86' with Kane,G Rap, Shan, Roxane Shante, Biz Markie. Ke was one of the Original Juice Crew members. Kinda like Wayne was in The Hot Boys. He was the youngest. peace.
Cop that Survival Skills LP!
when you get time subscribe to my channel if you like it & comment your favorite video,I'd appreciate it very much
Brooklyn Stand Up!!!
The mind tricks the body the body thinks the mind is crazy
Someone smack me...I never knew intelligent hoodlum was Tragedy! I don't know dudes face like that except for that joint i think he did for that posse movie.
@MrBabz71 Some still do have that level of skill, one being Shad K (from London, Ontario, Canada) he is just phenomenal, definitely worth checking out (I suggest listening to the song "The Old Prince Still Lives At Home". The video parodies the Fresh Prince intro). Seriously give him a couple minutes and maybe you'll find something you like.
But for the most part I agree. Almost any hip hop album from the 80s or 90s is purchase worthy. especially when and compared it to today's music)
hip hop aint dead it moved to europe
@notor1ousguhmz tru dat
