Back in the day when DJs literally had to go out into the world to find the best vinyl albums/12" records to provide their ambiance with the very best of music favorites. DJs either had it or not and that's what made it being the best known dj in town, clubs etc.. Nowadays everyone can easily download anything they can think of and add it to their playlist. All DJs sound like the same thing in these current generations.. I miss the original style vinyl having the best music because you would go out and get it for your collection of albums.💯 This is in my collection from 1988!*
its still a jam to me! i remember in the late 80's it was bangin out of mini trucks in SGV, ELA. Im still glad i kept my mini truck and I still bump it with my kidz!!
Luichi V, I also love that song !! Do you know that she was in the 1980’s group Exposé … with famous songs ( Seasons change, Point of no return, Let me be the one ) … ; )
Freestyle39 From what I know, Ale wasn't feeling it anymore and wanted to leave. You can hear Laurie Miller on the background vocals of the 1st Expose album. Gioia sang one or two songs as did Ann, but the background was all Laurie Miller. I think the break up really had to do with marketing and creating a group with mass appeal. The original lineup sounded too ethnic Hispanic. Jeanette sounded more like a white girl and Gioia had a powerful soulful voice that could be used on R&B type tracks. It is what it is. Expose started out as a Freestyle act, but ended up a top-40 pop girl group at the end.
Yes, but what I learned online was that Laurie Miller never got the credits for her work or creativity on the album. Nor did Sandra for the choreography and hair and makeup. None of the 3 originals got credit for their vocals as well. Why ? Also on some sites it says that all 3 ladies were fired because of the inconsolable difference during their contract. Each and every one of them wanted to prove they had still an interest in the music business after they had broken up. Yet they were just cut short of a music career. That's why I believe they complained about ..........somewhere down the line. Lauren Miller said she was hurt because she wanted in on the band. Sandra proved to the world she had what I took to be successful and she did it with her solo album. Ale' Lorenzo sold thousands of copies of her "Freestyle single" I Wanna Know " and does not specify that you had anything to do with the production of this song. No offence.
+Luis Martinez Luis, Ale' and Laurie did a lot and most of the backing vocal's. Ale' signed a royalty agreement for her work. Laurie was the one that was jipped. Ale' actually lost most of the accent on this track especially. go to facebook and you will hear their story from Laurie miller." Xposed to the original expose"
This song just popped up in my mind of the good ol' high school days of '88-'89. Best times! Thanks for preserving this song!
