Hello everyone, I am a SC2 player from Taiwan. I always play alone because almost no one got interest. I can't speak ENG well, but my tears almost drop in the end. SC2 might not be the most popular game, but it will be the best game in my life. Thank you @SC2HL, your high light videos are always the best.
LHK the sad thing is, everything TB said about the players - asking them not to leave and thanking them for their passion - applies to himself as well. But if TB should leave, it may be because of a reason out of his control :'(
Rest in Peace TotalBiscuit. You were and will always be a legend in this community. Thank you for everything you gave to this game. You will always be remembered.
Too long; didn't read version: I can't believe this all started when my cousins first came to my house with this game. And now, to this day, I've been playing the hell out of this game. StarCraft forever, man. Hearing TotalBuscuit's words really took me back and made me think about why I enjoy this game. I will love it and will continue to be a StarCraft nut. Real Version: I am comfortable enough to myself to admit that I cried at the end. TotalBiscuit's words really hit home there and as he was giving his words, I thought back to the time when my older cousin was visiting when I was just five years old. I stumbled across a game where he was building structures and creating people, as I thought at the time. I was curious as to what this game was. And I watched him play the game for so long with curious eyes. Listening to what all the units said and learning what all the buildings do, it really fascinated me. And since then, I wanted this game for myself. I played the hell out of Brood War. I loved all the funny lines the Terran units made, the funny noises the Zerg made, and the funky language the Protoss made. I took this game everywhere with me on my old laptop that's now long gone. I took it with me on road trips with family, most of the time but it was truly a game that was never far from me. No matter what, I always wanted another day and another hour to play StarCraft. But my love for this game ran dry in 2005-2006. I still play it but not often. I wanted something new for this game. So badly. Then, when the announcement came in 2007 that StarCraft II was announced... I could not sleep for a couple of days. Not lying. I could hardly sleep. Since that day when I found out about the announcement, I checked every day for updates of any kind. I knew right from day one that this game had to be mine. When I saw the system requirements, I begged my parents to give me a good enough computer to play. It's practically been a dream for me to play StarCraft II, and I wouldn't be denied the chance. I had to wait until 2011 to finally land a computer that would be good enough to play the game. And since then, I never looked back. For five years, I played so much. From the bottom of my heart, I know that any time enjoyed with StarCraft II was time not wasted. Players I loved watching play have come and gone. People have come and gone during my adventures in the Koprulu Sector. But what remained consistent was that passion for StarCraft and always remembering why you love the game. I love StarCraft. StarCraft forever. MY LIFE FOR AIUR THAT'S FOR THE SWARM! (Zerg and Protoss are my two favorites. Was never good with Terran.)
I had a rough 2016. Watching tense nailbiting SC2 games were a welcome respite inbetween all the tragedies. Thank you to all the SC2 pro players out there, the sponsors for the events, the organizers, the casters, the twitch streamers, the youtube creators, the developers and the community. A lot of people's lives, including mine, were brighter because of you.
Didn't care much for most of the games chosen, but that is just preference on what makes an exciting game or series, but I want to say thank you so, so, so much for including community casters near the end, they work so hard it's great to see them as part of the highlights on the year because in reality they were some of the biggest heroes in the scene so I think that is just awesome.
Incredible work, as usual! You HAVE to feel the passion for SC2 esports after watching such an incredible video! 2017 and SC2 is STILL the best esport! :D
That was a beautiful mooving speach by TotalBiscuit at the end, it should not be forgotten. I almost cried when listening to it. I hope all those who say that SC2 is dead will hear it and enjoy this awsome game rather than complain.
Omg...that speech by Totalbiscuit. Instant tears. I miss these days. Starcraft 2 is still around, but the sheer excitement that existed in these early years is gone, and I really miss it. Rip Totalbiscuit and Incontrol, I'll keep watching SC2 as long as it continues into the future
2016... Amazing. New players. New tactics. New fighting styles... jeez. Crying just watching this, little ole' Starcraft is growing up. You can't ignore the fact that history has been rewritten.
Patience's 'see ya later' last blink shot, Byun's baneling target firing, Nerchio's engineered surround and multiprong attacks, Byun's viking kiting, Maru's offensive mule drop all gave me some serious nerd chills. I might be feverish!
Love this years video just like the years before. I watch way to little starcraft at the moment but I just have to come back and watch these videos nontheless - Amazing work, thanks for your videos as well, keep them up for 2017!
This video gave me new faith for the game and the E-sport that i love the most. THANK YOU SC2HL for this year and for all the great content that you have put up ever since the 1st video back in 2013, we love you more than you can imagine and I sincerely hope that you stick with this game cus "it is that good" !
An OUTSTANDING 20 years with SC. Never regret a single second playing. I will enjoy LOTV and its final breath. I wish for it to not happen, but there is always a end to Great things. One day I will say Goodbye to SC not because Im moving on, but because its actually closing to its final days.
I hardly played or watched sc2 at all in 2016 so this video was amazing to watch. thanks to everyone who's still investing into my favourite competitive game!
Man I remember watching Maru Vs Zest (rematch). Man I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. Watching the Esports Starcraft 2 has really inspired me to become a better SC2 player. I'm now a Tier 3 Diamond league trying to breakout of it to get my Master rank. Slowly I'm getting there!
Makes me sad sc2 has declined over the years,i have put thousands of hours into this beautiful game and from playing many other online games i can easily and honestly say sc2 has the best and friendliest gaming community bar none,I have been playing this game on and off for nearly 20 years and it has given me countless hours of happiness and given me an escape from bad moments in my life, starcraft will always have a special place in my heart.
I LOVE starcraft! It's the game I played for 5 years now and it still blows my mind what people can do in a video game. You cannot even rage in game because typing is impossible when playing (after 2-3 mins).
Everytime once in a while, I watch this video again. I watached for all years but this is definitly my favorite for the music, and the actual games. Amazing! Stacraft is still alive and awsome!
Um...well,there's someone given it,may I ask if it's a tort? If so,I would withdraw my comments, and I hope you don't blame the reprint person since there are many Chinese can't enter the youtobe.
4:10 isn't that the guy who forgot to research extended thermal lance for his collosi? Lmao thats like forgetting to research siege mode for your tanks in broodwar or WOL.
I like how half of these are players beating Zest xD Kinda rude to do that and not include any of his early 2016 dominance. Didn't drop a single map in Code S until the Grand Finals and was seemingly unstoppable in Proleague until the middle of the year.
acedede yeah at one point he was unstoppable, he had a rough second half, just lost to the canadian team pretty badly in nation wara hope he bounces back
carson, he stated at the beginning that he wasn't happy about having to face terrans because he is struggling against the current meta. He never got a chance to play rogue and was forced to play against terran 3 times. It's just unfortunate. He's also teamless now so he probably spends a lot less time practicing (at least against quality players).
Your English is good and your comment is also great,so many people all over the world love this game from Taiwan to cape town(my home).
Add me on Starcraft 2. I will play on Korean sever soon. I'm playing in American server. Gamertag "Silverknight" character code : 990

SC2HL made me cry so much omg I love this game and the players
The ending segment with TB moved me to tears...
Seriously a little misty-eyed here.
LHK the sad thing is, everything TB said about the players - asking them not to leave and thanking them for their passion - applies to himself as well. But if TB should leave, it may be because of a reason out of his control :'(
He will never leave my memories.

Same, sc2 helped me through some rough patch in 2016.
what a speech. what. a. speech.
No matter what, starcraft will always be the best hardcore videogame ever made
Didn't care much for most of the games chosen, but that is just preference on what makes an exciting game or series, but I want to say thank you so, so, so much for including community casters near the end, they work so hard it's great to see them as part of the highlights on the year because in reality they were some of the biggest heroes in the scene so I think that is just awesome.
Man, I miss TB, What a legend
after all these years SC2 is still standing.
So proud to be an SC player

Man, you even squeezed in some Iron Squid music!
Awesome video. There is not other community like that of StarCraft.
i stopped playing starcraft 2 like 2 years ago and it hurts me to see it fall apart like this i hope it gets to its old glory again
Watching now with TB's speech, I cried. His passion is never forgotten
beautiful. thank you so much for doing this. starcraft was a huge part of my childhood growing up and still is today.
Thank you for doing this, time and time again, despite SC2's decline in popularity.
That was a beautiful mooving speach by TotalBiscuit at the end, it should not be forgotten. I almost cried when listening to it. I hope all those who say that SC2 is dead will hear it and enjoy this awsome game rather than complain.

Thx for this great video! Next year we need more Home Story Cup and Stephano =)
Maru's smile when he drops those MULEs. Damn. Gives me chills man.

thanks to "文艺的老中二" and "YeahJack" in bilibili for translating and printing it
IS youming Can you link to bilibili? Its a video site right

SCBOY(星际老男孩) is the most famous cast group of SC2 in China. They have been making great efforts to promote SC2 in China over these years.
千言万语一句话:干死黄旭东
Um...well,there's someone given it,may I ask if it's a tort? If so,I would withdraw my comments, and I hope you don't blame the reprint person since there are many Chinese can't enter the youtobe.

Listening to this today in 2019. Hearing TB talk. God damn these feels. Miss you, you fucking legend.
Nothing else can make me feel like this
4:10 isn't that the guy who forgot to research extended thermal lance for his collosi? Lmao thats like forgetting to research siege mode for your tanks in broodwar or WOL.

I like how half of these are players beating Zest xD Kinda rude to do that and not include any of his early 2016 dominance. Didn't drop a single map in Code S until the Grand Finals and was seemingly unstoppable in Proleague until the middle of the year.
Yeah I had the exact same thought! It made it seem like 2016 was the fall of Zest, but really he's still one of the best players
Totally agree
acedede yeah at one point he was unstoppable, he had a rough second half, just lost to the canadian team pretty badly in nation wara hope he bounces back
and zest just got eliminated from the ro32 at gsl, time for him to retire now
carson, he stated at the beginning that he wasn't happy about having to face terrans because he is struggling against the current meta. He never got a chance to play rogue and was forced to play against terran 3 times. It's just unfortunate.
