Have you tried to dig out and remove the exotic invasive Multi-flora Rose to make more room for your elderberry and to harvest them

your erosion problem is also caused by the channelized stream due to the construction of your driveway. water keeps its energy and destructive capacity when it flows in a straight path

Great use for elderberries in the erosion. And multi purpose to be able to harvest and use for medicinal purposes. I have people buy my honey and make elderberry syrup which is great. Good video.

We are over near Boone. Do you think we could direct sow the elderberry seeds into the bank? We have similar erosion challenges.

Seeds or starts? I don’t plant the seeds, I use the live staking method.

I found your video when thinking about planting elderberry. We already have the seeds and don't have any plants so was going to give it a whirl.

Great video. Do those branches survive and work after a few months?

    • @WhistleThicket

Yes! About 80 percent of the live stakes have rooted and now have leaves! Took about 2 months!

I realize this is about a year old. Does anyone know where to purchase live stakes? I don't have them available around my creek and looking for willow sticks.

Best time is late Feb right when they are leaving their dormant winter stage
