It takes a special kind of person to be a scrapper and I'm sure glad there are still people out there to sift through the "junk" to save some financially and historically valuable items then properly dispose of the remainder.
You my kind of people. My favorite thing to do is walk around rust and old chrome and have fun playing archeologist trying to figure out year/make/model of different things. Too bad I'm so far away or I'd come help.
I recon your the most interesting scraper on the planet lm sure like many of your viewers as kids we've all spent hours and hours playing in locations like car graveyards Thanks for the memories
I am a born scrapper. Not many collections like that here in Mesa Arizona but a few years ago I cleaned out and old workshop in Apache junction that is about 20 miles east of where I live. I paid them $200 and cleaned it out. Tools, engines you name it. They just wanted it gone so they could tear down the building. Took 5 full sized truck bed and 16 foot flat trailer loads to clean it all out. My Harbor Freight 12K winch paid for itself that day. Keep up the great videos. I love watching you dig all that vintage stuff out. I would have had a hay day in that basement and those buildings. The scrounger in me I would have gone through every little piece looking for those last little heirlooms like the old reflector.
You did an awesome job cleaning up that property. I have seen farmers use those old tractor cabs for a place for their children to get out of the wind while waiting for the school bus. Usually they are placed at the ends of long lanes. Iowa winters are cold ,windy, and snowy.
SILAS- I got to the end of your video WOW ! great work you just saved gods great land, the trees and animals will love you and grow with you your kids will have fun running around there and maybe you will build a house there in time peace.
Living on a small dairy farm in England with not a lot to do once the chores were done, I bought myself an old truck, got myself some cutting gear, and went around farm sales buying scrap machines, many a time I would sell parts of the machine for more than paid for it and I still had the remains to weigh in. Happy days.
That was incredible Silas. I watched 1, 2, and 3 first and then all the rest of your vlogs. Then to watch the end of the farm clean up was amazing. Never really watched or knew about this sorta stuff before! Now I look forward to a new day and a new adventure!
HI SILAS-MAN you have a great job when I was a teen and still today I always love going through old homes left and empty, what a gold mine and what we found. Still to this day I love going to the junk yards to find parts I call them donor parts call me crazy but its sad to see a old car from the 60-70s still looking good standing there wondering who had that car the laughs the history and now crush its sad to watch. like your videos keep making them.
9:28 think thats an old Triumph motorcycle rocker box - probably not worth much but it might help to id other stuff and put a value on it. hope this helps
I use to collect license plates and I had alot!!! But so many times setting up at swap meets and stuff I got tired of getting low balled or people saying I over paid for plates. I found a guy who bought them all as I gave up on them i had way way to many. Cools vids man I just subscribed
You should make a scraper for your loader forks. Old rr rail is great but heavy guage I beam works good too. You arrange it so it's crossways under the tips of your forks. Edges down, welded to heavy metal closed pockets that the tips of your forks go in. Then chains to the fork mounts. You can push or pull now, take out all the high weeds, saplings and poke around where you cant see in. You'll do more with 1 machine and have less worry losing a tire "finding" some old iron. It's easy on and off, easy to bring with you or bring later. Thanks for sharing
Good for you going the extra mile to keep history alive. ( and make a buck or 2 ) People are so fast to just throw stuff out without looking close to see just what it is.
Wow that old Cab 0:30 is in mint condition hopefully it can be repurposed. The handle on that valve is a clear throwback to the old days when a little more care and creativity was put into design and production rather then today's "build her as cheap as you can" and make as much money as you can. Made in America used to mean something back then. Thank Silas great video as usual .... LOL hope you survived the hornet attack, little bastards!
It great that you have a eye for the good stuff, some scrappers only see the monetary value, at least you put it back in circulation which it should be,, hope you saved that corn binder(International) pickup....New Subscriber....GOD BLESS!!!
You did a great job on the cleanup, I once bought a small farm with 5 acres and a loss less junk, but it sure took me longer to clean it up! Are you going to do a yard video?
Ok,, so,,, shovelhead engines are vintage,,, dang I guess I'm getting old! Also the little harley engine and carbs there at the end is for a hummer,,,, you know, the old bike with no engine.go Also when an old hat like me sees a pile of stock cases, I can't help but remember cussing back in the day when guys would ruin bikes by doing insurance deals by reporting bikes stolen and then changing things with numbers. Things like cases and frames. Aside from catastrophic damage or major racing there usually isn't a reason for a pile of cases. Go back and make sure you get all the good little parts that will otherwise get trashed. Also put the hummer back together or give it to someone who will.CHEERS!
Vintage radiators and the engines should be looked at and saved and worth money and they're needed by restores and collectors some of this stuff you should save and sell it turns my stomach seeing all this stuff trashed when people can use it
Any idea what that land is going to be used for in the future? Maybe a condo complex, new houses, commercial use property - what? 10 acres is a good-sized chunk of property.
I walked very slow, but since it was a time lapse it looked fast. I even slowed it down a lot in editing. It was my first time lapse walk through so I learned what to do and not do.
Just got done watching your program and wondering if you sale the inpown cars, and trucks, and the titles to said. GREAT VIDEOS, LIKE THEM A LOT WAN8MORE OF THEM. DON'T STOP SAYING COOL
I have a friend that has an old rusty pickup that she decorates for the seasons. It really looks cool. That last truck you pulled out would be great for that unless someoone wanted to fix it up for truck pulls or something. Does your wife like to decorate with junk?
Glad to see you found some great stuff worth salvaging. Do you ever come across old work/farm clothing when cleaning out these old places? Work shirts/flannels, jeans, overalls, etc? Let me know if you do, as I'm a buyer for that type of stuff (even stuff full of holes and patches).

Probably the best way to properly dispose of that old moldy house is to burn it down to the ground 🔥 & recycle the scrap metal
You're alright. There's hope for humanity yet. There are some good, hard working, decent people still around.
You my kind of people. My favorite thing to do is walk around rust and old chrome and have fun playing archeologist trying to figure out year/make/model of different things. Too bad I'm so far away or I'd come help.

Very cool videos, I enjoyed the series and hope to see more. Thank you.
Every item that you find is is a piece of Americana. I'm happy that you're keeping a good number of them.
The BSA side panel isn’t nor was the Bridgestone 350 engine just to name two.
Really great 👍🏻 videos! I watch these with my 9 year old son and don’t even have to worry about any profanity, just good and clean.
It’ll always be that way. If I can’t let my kids watch it, I won’t post it. Just keep him out of the comments 😆
@@AdventuresMadeFromScratch as I’m reading this I’m watching one of your episodes it’s kind of funny huh
That little 2 stroke Harley motor at 16:49 is for that Hummer you pulled out of the weeds.

In the basement, that center console was for a 1966 & up Buick, LeSabre, Wildcat, Riviera, and Skylark GS.
I really enjoy your videos. People are losing an appreciation for the older "junk" really sad.
Love your content!! Stay safe everyone ❤️ ❤️
nice job!!! You sound like Johnny Cash!!! You have the best job in the world, Congrats...
Wow good job looks great 👍
The place looks a lot better. Great job.

Well the owner has some nice trails now thanks to you

Keep on keeping on dude 👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧
I have a few scrapper buddies..they use a thumper when checking out old scrap..saves them from the ole wasp bum rush 😊
Great video, one man's junk another man's treasure.
In the late 60s I lived in pine bluff ark and right in the middle of town was a car junkyard that I used to play in all the cars were 40s on back
Sure did enjoy it, thank you kindly 🙏👍
Good work.
Harley cases can be pure GOLD! Those batteries can be re-built for the guy who is restoring a 60's vintage bike.
Thanks for sharing
Always inmterested in the old beer cans you find
Hat cam working great i see
539 looks like a grain silo that would be a cool feature in a garden
Great video. Thank you for sharing.
Good haul
Just amazing work you do sir , when do you become a drone pilot . Silas you are a pleasure to watch and listen to.
At 3:55, I have that same exact 2 drawer cart! Picked it up free a few years ago at the end of somebody's driveway. Cool to see another

Looks great thanks for your vlogs was great fun seeing the stuff
You did a great job on the cleanup, I once bought a small farm with 5 acres and a loss less junk, but it sure took me longer to clean it up! Are you going to do a yard video?
We have multiple yards all packed with cars, so I’ll be doing many yard videos in the future
That centre console in the basement is of a 76 Buick Regal. Same as mine!
Excellent video
Wow, there are actually trees in Kansas - I didn't know that ... Great video
9:10 a oh F Moment .lots of NICE old things . The smell of ROT. YUP worked on a lot of basements . Rusty gold.
Hey. In Alabaster they're going to need a clean out.

I would love to do this. Thinking what treasure am I going to find.😊😊
Yeah and one of those engines in that shed was probably the original 400 engine that's missing from that Buick skylark that the 400 on the hood
Vintage radiators and the engines should be looked at and saved and worth money and they're needed by restores and collectors some of this stuff you should save and sell it turns my stomach seeing all this stuff trashed when people can use it
Everything in there is worth something to somebody.
At 15:57 I am pretty sure that the window on that cam0er is a windshield off of a 33 or 34 ford.
That’s kind of what I was thinking. A very interesting piece for sure
Cool 😎
Gelukkig kun je het allemaal Bergen al die mooie spulletjes heel goed dat je dat gered hebt helemaal top
Any idea what that land is going to be used for in the future? Maybe a condo complex, new houses, commercial use property - what? 10 acres is a good-sized chunk of property.
I believe they’re going to turn it into farm ground
The window in the truck bed camper looks like an old car windshield.
Thanks for the video. Can you make a video on the lanterns you make out of old cans?
I will this fall for sure
Glade you don't crush all that old farm equipment keep the old tractors an the thrashers there worth money
Those radiators wall art those small Wisconsin meters be small engine collection

Those Harley parts I would contact Mike Wolfe at Antique Archeology I think he would be the best at giving you a good value number on those parts.

Any way to get some car license plates. I make wall art for military veterans.

If one of those Wisconsin engines has a electric starter I would be interested in the starter
Call mike wolfe antique archialogy he is allways looking for old harley parts
You have Ebay you have newer licness plates for sale for crafts.
I have a regular buyer for my plates right now so I haven’t been putting them on eBay much
I have a friend that has an old rusty pickup that she decorates for the seasons. It really looks cool. That last truck you pulled out would be great for that unless someoone wanted to fix it up for truck pulls or something. Does your wife like to decorate with junk?
She’s not too big on rusty junk haha
@@AdventuresMadeFromScratch Too bad, but I can understand. I would be like any cool gears or anything today dear? LOL

those Harley cases are 1970 to 1984 shovelhead

What did you do with the lathe?
That is a washing machine motor gas powered I think it’s by Evinrude or by earlier company ELTO ?
Few people work on old bikes these days. They want elect. Starts elect. Bikes full helmets, plastic fairings, computers
Hornets, heh, right place to be, Utube even has folks who know how to get rid of hornets...
Given the cost of romex that spool of wire might a be a good take at: 3:38
