Thank you so much, I've been going through youtube all day and watched various videos regarding my tap that would turn of. I thought it was a washer at first but that didn't seem to help. Your video was literally the last I found, and it saved me alot. It should be one of the very first videos that yt shows when searching 'leaking/running tap won't turn off'.
Thank you so much. God bless 🙌

Thank you! I’ve just used this at my disabled mums house there the top of her cold water tap has come off and was gushing. I turned the water off and did what you said in this video and it’s stopped! OK it’s still going to need a plumber to replace the taps but it’s no longer an emergency call out as there are other bathrooms

i have a problem: i have the same type of tap, except its only one tap not two. at 1:34, where you remove the screw and pull off the tap, i have already removed the screw. however the tap refuses to move and its stuck there and i cannot turn the tap any more. any ideas how to fix this?
edit: this has been fixed (i used a hammer to knock it out)
now my problem is at around 2:13 when you push the spindle down and turn it. my spindle cannot move or turn at all and i cannot press it down either.

This is a disease caused by a few blokes and 3/4 or so of women.
The art of turning off a tap is to gently rotate it until the water stops coming out. Then about a quarter to a half turn to fully compress the washer. Most women, and a few guys, turn a tap until they cannot easily turn it further. At his point the rubber washer is past is elastic envelope and jammed against the platform of the inflow. The rubber is now past its functional range and deformed, It will begin to leak soon......
    Gently PLEASE !!f
