I feel the same way, but I think that's intentional. It's based off of a certain traumacore video, with scenes of the rooms of a house and certain shots outdoors while self-depricating messages are shown alongside them, with a music track from Undertale playing in the background (I can't remember what it's called, but it gives off a very lonely or isolated feel). Traumacore is, by my Google-search of the word, "a type of aesthetic imagery that delves into the themes of abuse and trauma (particularly sexual trauma or CSA) along with cute visuals to give the whole aesthetic a 'bittersweet tragedy' feel. Mental, emotional, and spiritual abuse are also common themes in traumacore." It's definitely not something to be made fun of - some people take offense to it, think that it's glorifying trauma and abuse, but most others appreciate it and see it as something that makes them feel safe, even helping to cope with their trauma/abuse, in a way. I'm not a victim of trauma or abuse, so I don't know what this song is like to actual victims, whether they enjoy the song or if it makes them uncomfortable. But me, personally, I just find the song very relaxing to listen to, despite the subject matter of where it comes from. Stars of Darkness definitely has a bittersweet edge to it, as the tempo of the music and vocals sound very jazzy and make you wanna bop your head to the rhythm, but the actual tune in the music and vocals sound melancholy. So you have a sad-sounding song, but played in an upbeat tempo, resulting in a track that sounds somewhat recognizeable, like you've heard it somewhere before, but can't quite put your finger on it. So that feeling of familiarity with the melody of the song is a pretty fitting feeling, since traumacore is supposed to feel familiar to those who're victims of abuse and trauma. The song is likely meant to make everyone feel the same familiarity - not the same TYPE of familiarity, but the same LEVEL of familiarity.
I put it in x1.5 speed and it sounds a bit more upbeat or something like that... And x0.75 speed sound kinda depressing (or something like that, i can't think of a different word apart from sad right now) but if faster sounds happier it wouldn't be a suprise if slower was sadder
this version of Hello Kitty is on my very own Bad End Friends Theme Song list. the song i chose is Painted Smile by Madame Macabre which is a Jeff the Killer song. in a way, Hell On Kitty has a bit of Jeff the Killer vibe with the whole carved smile/mouth element.
Could you post just the OST of the Really Happy cover? I loved this cover and wanted to put it on my playlist (love your work :"0) Sorry if im being ignorant :”3

How was hello kitty even able to sing the first two songs without a mouth... intense humming. Also, I know the original animation, but what were those extra songs (except the really happy one obviously) about?
In the first song bf gives him an artifact that helps him make sounds, in the second he doesn't sing but makes stress sounds, and the extra songs are based on a creepypasta and an edgy culture if I'm not mistaken in the one they used the image of sanrio characters and expressed depreciation respectively
Stars of darkness became an instant favorite of mine, but it sounds familiar.
me too
