Alphonse Mucha was an important painter and decorative artist in the Czech Art Nouveau period. His creation involved illustrations, posters, paintings, theatre stage design, jewelry, decorative arts and other fields. He is the designer of the first set of stamps and banknotes in the Czech Republic, as well as a consumerist designer. He has devoted his life to practicing the concept of "making art into life".
Mucha's works not only have the characteristics of Art Nouveau, but also reflect a distinctive personal style. He absorbed the elegant depiction of contour lines by Japanese woodcuts, the gorgeous colors and geometric decorative effects of Byzantine art, as well as the exquisiteness and complexity of Baroque and Rococo art, forming a magnificent style of painting that influenced the creation of an era.
