    I know you can slow down the RUclips videos however it would be great to show the casting portions of these videos in slow motion. IMHO

    hi ,never can stop watching tjis video..i luv this product. Q, recently while i was fishing , i notice my 230g opst was fully submerge in the water while i was lake fishing..i was not using a sink tip just a 10ft leader with a bedded nymph.. it floated for 1st dy but by the 2nd dy, the line begin to submerge almost like a intermediate line.. is that suppose to happen.? thanks , hope you gys can clarify my curiosity. cheers.

      if your line gets dirty it might do that. if mine sinks and gets harder to cast i clean and treat the shooting head with floatant.

    such friend, sorry for my English, I'm using translator ... I consulted, I have a cane Redington Crosswater # 8 9ft, I have thought to use a Skagit line 250 grain, since being a rod medium-fast action, not if you work with one of more grain ... you say goes well with 250grain?

    • @bpaull08
      @bpaull08 8 лет назад

      I would recommend a 275 grain Commando for that rod.

    I have a 8'6" Sage One 5wt. I just bought a 225 grain head and 50lb Lazar line. Does this sound like a good fit? Also, need advice on tips. Thanks in advance. Can't wait to get on the water with this rig.

      I’m using the 225 on my 9ft 6wt and it feels perfect, but I also have a medium fast instead of a normal fast. The 225 might load perfect on that fast action Sage. I was dumb enough to try and use my 10ft sink tips that I use for my 7wt Spey with this and it went horribly. I ended up buying some T-8 and T-11 cut to 7.5ft and looped and it casts perfect now! Tight lines

    On your site you recommand 275 grains for a 7 weight. Do you think its best to go for 300 like in this vid?

  • @Flies_the_limit

    Why is it called skagit casts? Correct me if I'm wrong here but spey casts with skagit line?

    • @OPSkagit
      @OPSkagit  Год назад

      Hello and thanks for the inquiry. If you were to look up a traditional Spey cast, it would consist of a long belly line, usually 60'+. This requires plenty of back casting room. Whereas a Skagit cast was developed to deal with high banks and limited back-casting space. This calls for a shorter head and a smaller D loop.

      I would recommend our 300 grain for that rod, with a Rio spey versileader of 6 feet or a Salmon/Steelhead Airflo polyleader of 5 feet.
