I have had this problem for years with my wifes 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee. It would be intermittent and yesterday I think I found the cause. The producer of this video of this correct it is indeed vapor lock, but check your coolant level! I had a leaking water pump- and this caused my Jeep to began doing this no start but crank condition. While replacing this water pump, I also decided to flush my coolant system. After installing the new pump I began to refill the system with coolant. I took the car for a ride, and noticed it was getting hotter than normal due to a air pocket in the coolant system. This really aggravated the no start symptom (vapor lock).- worse than ever before! Once I completely filled the coolant the car was fine the rest of the day. Having low coolant would effect the temperature of the intake manifold and the fuel rails are right there. So in short- YES this is vapor lock, but check your coolant system for the proper coolant level- this will allow the temp to stay low. This is why these cars did not due this when new. Once leaks develop, or fluid levels are not correct, the temp will rise and cause the vapor lock. In fact this is the 3rd water pump I have installed, and all my crank but no starts started happening when these pumps began leaking.
Glad I came to this video, I have resolved this issue a few years ago, by just adding non ethanol fuel to the tank; those new gasoline mixes contains crazy amounts of ethanol (I live in Florida and gets pretty hot) while resting in the hot rails ethanol will boil at a lower point than just regular pure gasoline and therefore create vapor lock. Of course non ethanol fuel is extremely expensive especially right now, I simply add a can or two of seafoam to neutralize the ethanol and avoid vapor lock. Hope my 2 cents help! 😁

However she has also had issues with the theft deterrent system since they did the ignition recall. Sometimes switching keys will allow it to start. Dealers have raked her over the coals and really turned me off from buying a newer model jeep of any kind.
Yeah I had same problem on 2010 jeep liberty 3.7 liter engine. Spent $5400 at the dealer for new PCM, new left block with cracked head gasket. 1 month later back to the same problem. Thanks you 🙏 for the answer. I’ve done so much electrical troubleshooting and came back to ASD relay and that’s why the PCM was replaced
Right there behind your battery,The purge solenoid is part of the evaporative emissions system that takes the vapor from the tank through a charcoal canister and opens so the vapor is sucked into the intake and burnt rather then released to the atmosphere. Problem is the fuel is boiling due to excessive alcohol content that lowers the boiling point of the fuel .Heat soak is an issue with many .Worked as a Chrysler tech for years back when they had Daimler. We had a TSB ON THE 4.0L and had to add heat shields to the fuel rail and open up the rubber next to the radiator to give it air . Thank you. great video!!!! I had this problem on my for the past 3 years 2008 jeep with 350,000 miles, I think the main issues is the that engine is running to hot, keep your temp gage under 1/2 after running, I had this happen when my thermostat was faulty, the second time was when antifreeze was low. every time the temp gage went over 1/2 I had this problems
I've watched this video a few times, because I had the same problem with my 2008 grand Cherokee. I changed the crank shaft sensor, cam sensor, engine fuse box and even the computer and still the same problem. Finally I had the egr replaced and that was the problem. I had the same symptoms, When I drove to one location and the car would not turn on right away until either the car cooled off or I had to keep cranking the car on and off multiple times, which eventually would damage the starter snd Ive changed the starter twice in one year. If you decide to change your egr make sure to have wd-40 and a tool that heats up the scews because my mechanic had to remove the whole top manifold to remove that part because the screws were rusted and did not want to come out. Make sure you have the right tool for a small part in a bad location. Hope this info is helpful to someone. I watched a video that had a 2019 Cherokee with the same problem and it was the egr valve also. That's how I got my car fixed.
2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo with failed start on first go but always starts on the second with no signs of working overtime for the second crank. It almost sounds as if the engine didn’t turn over fully but cranks and turns over just fine any other time when starting from cold. Only happens when the truck is up to running temp.
Harbor freight has a fuel pres checking kit that has a rubber pipe with the right fitting to go on the fuel rail to push the shader valve you could make a way to let off the fuel pressure .
Just happened to me again today on 3.7 WK GC, the first time it happened was two years ago, this was second time. Right before this happened, I was driving low speed around parking lot, so these were prime conditions for heat buildup, vehicle was parked for about 20 minutes, then no start condition. After three short cranks it started, when its cranking it does sound much worse than vapor lock condition, probably cuz this engine has never cranked more than 1 second in 15 years and always starts no issue, same starter, the drivetrain is military grade with Mercedes W5A580. Thanks for the tip, next time I try this method.
That valve you push on is called a Schrader Valve. It is the same as AC hoses to a manifold for checking the pressure in the system. So go to NAPA and get a replacement hose. That wont solve your problem, but, now you will have something that will fit that valve. Happy Hunting.
@@CCWP0251 Thank you for this vid. The frustration of this happening is overwhelming especially at a time like this. Sometimes ill disconnect battery thinking itll work but nope. It randomly starts whenever it wants even after replacing battery ,starter , & alternator.
Try next time try changing the water thermostat to a 180-degree. Any less temp will make an engine check light to come on. Also, you can change the radiator from a two core to a 4 core aluminum. This will make your engine run a lot cooler and last longer.
also an inline fuel filter might be a good option if it has a way to bleed out the air- i think its some kinda problem relating to having air in the lines. I might have almost fixed it (below post) but if it doesnt im gonna run all the gas out of it and have a gas can in the jeep to put in it.
thank you it was driving me up a wall, now i just let the pressure out and bam starts right up. I thought i knew a lot put engines in put the valve body in to fix the going into limp mode. so, thanks again.
So im going to say this if this might help try copper or aluminum clips around the entire fuel line instead of plastic. It could actually eliminate the problem because of its heat dispacing qualities, it may also be prudent to put some sort of polymer/plastic jacketing over the those clips to get the reduction in top heat. Try it out.
thank you so much for this info - I have an 06 same problem and like you said it doesn't show a code for it- any 3.7 v6 engine jeep model vehicle likely has this same problem
You earned a Sub buddy! It worked for me have a 07 Jeep Grand Cherokee Landero. I tried swapping the replays, didn’t work, did the gas thing u did in the video, didn’t work at first, left the key on “On” for a minute, sat for 5 min and tried to start it it work!!!! I was stuck at school an hour from home thank you !!
MINE also was not hot gas but it was cold, but there was liquid and air that came out of that part that I had too screw off, I used sissies to push it in becuase that’s all I had
I'm glad it helped! I am currently still using this method. No permanent fix or resolution from Chrysler. I dont look for there to ever be a permanent fix, being that these WKs are 12-13 years old.
After I brought my Jeep to the mechanic to get an oil changed, which I originally planned, they ran the scanner test on it and couldn’t find a thing, nothing was wrong, the code for trans over temp was faulty error code. Now today it happened to me again!!!.... I got up remote start my car (freezing out) drove to school about an hour. Was in class for 2 hours, went outside to go home, and didn’t start.... had to leave it there hoping it starts in the morning, also tried all the same tricks too try and get it started
My lady friend has the same problem with her 2009 Cherokee and she takes the hose from the filter and put some staring fluid and then start. Wow what a problem. Thank you
I have a 2009 Jeep Commander, same Engine..I've had this problem for quite some time.Every time I'd drive it at operating temperature, go to the store, start it back up,it runs rough and the check engine light flashes,I was told it was a misfire..Now when it happens, it doesn't start. This is probably one of the issues as well..Ty for the vid..
This definitely is the same problem im having. I'm going to try to change the fuel pump and what ever else I can find to replace and if nothing works ill try to come up with something to cool off the line as creative i can be. Im sure the trucks from the factory didn't have this issue so im going to look into it deep
I have a 2009 Jeep Commander with the 3.7 I replaced a battery and starter before seeing this video...this vid fully worked. I appreciate it. I wondered if new injectors and spark might help?
I cannot believe this for a minute I think what you’re dealing with is a sensor on the vehicle that shut the vehicle off from running it gets heat soaked when the vehicle is shut off and this showing a higher temperature then what the engine actually is these engines have a electronic cooling fan which is controlled by sensor that may be malfunctioning as well totally impossible to get vapor lock in that fuel rail design just a thought get a diagnostic tool shut the vehicle off after running it and check the temperatures on the sensors
Thank you so much for the info. I was about to drop my fuel tank and change out the fuel pump. Ive had this problem intermittently for a while. I just recently cut off my huge muffler and welded on a 18 inch glass pack. Havent had the problem since.... The wk now runs a lot better. Great video

2 things, one is I was having same issue, after a drive and making multiple stops my jeep wouldn't start for quite some time.. I just recently purchased a fuel pump, dropped the tank and swapped pump.. so far, no longer having this issue... second is there is a purge solenoid that can also be issue.. solenoid is right next to fuse box.. I also just swapped .. but I think a new fuel pump fixed my issue.. changed purge solenoid just because, my vehicle is an 09 with 230k miles so I figure it'll soon go anyway.. easy swap for solenoid
Thank you very much for the information just finished work jumped in my vehicle could not get it started was thinking it was fluid pump gas filter so I left my vehicle on my job thank you so much for that information
I have a 2007 jeep commander with this same issue & it looks like we have same motor so I bet I'm in the same boat with you & thank you for this temp fix
Same, mine has the 3.7 and I just bought mine 2 days ago, was gonna take it back to the dealer tomorrow but now that I’ve seen this I don’t know what to do
Yes, I know I wasnt using proper terminology. That purge valve does practically nothing. There is no return to tank from the fuel rail anywhere. By "purge valve" I'm referring to the return system.
I ran almost all the fuel out of it- when i filled it up while running at the gas pump it almost cut off which makes me think there might have been Air in lines and/or pump. I'll keep driving but it did crank back up/although slightly hesitate when i got home- i'll give updates later.
Marvel Mystery Oil in fuel has been working well. 4 oz per tank full. Check engine light even went off. No start condition comes right back if I forget to add the MMO. Still runs rough on occasion but 90% improvement since the MMO. Thank you to the MMO recommendation in these comments!
I was just very excited to hear that I won't be sick in this parking lot for long. I tried the trick, hot gas outta the valve, still won't start. I did have a coolant issue that. Happened about the same time. As this not starting thing happened Got the hoses replaced that were leaking coolant. After that it only Didn't start a few times, and 2nd or 3rd try it would crank up. Not. This time
After an hour from that post and draining that valve couple times it started. Since then if wouldn't start when it was warm and on a cold start. Anyone know what else it could be?
Pull windshield cowl rubber strip off. It will allow air flow to vent out from engine department. Only issue doing that you will experience leaves and water will get into engine department but not too big of an issue.
if this problem is on the Wk then its not just 07-10 The Wk ran from 05 -2010.. im curious if its just on The 3.7 or on The Hemis too?? or did they put purge solenoid? on any of them??? i believe it just happened to my jeep not to long ago And i thought it may be a fuel issue and i kept cranking it… my mechanic.. replaced. my EGR VALVE.. now i think my sttarter or my ignition switch is shot??? after seeing this im guessing its my starter.. but Thank you so much for the insight…
going to try this next time i have the issue. I solved it while i was stuck in a parking lot with a shot of brake cleaner up the intake and it started right up.
I been dealing with this as well...if u read all of these comments their is one permanent fix here....listen after about 130.000 miles shit gets wore out...ok it may be your water pump.or radiator hose.pin hole in radiator. Or pin jole in heatercore...wherever it may be... the whole issue is coming from a small leak in ur coolant system...an it's allowing ur motor to run warmer...these have 195 some 210 thermostats in them...if u put a 185 thermostat in it an go over ur cooling sys with fine teeth comb. An fix ur small leak u DONT know u have..Yet!!! AN ARE ABLE TO KEEP COOLANT AT FULL LEVEL an keep ur jeep at 185 degrees I'll assure u folks will not ha e any of these issues... all other props stem from this an are Lil things leading to another....keep it cool an keep it full. Ur welcome folks.. hillbilly in ky...no toolsnosence..
Hello guys 👋 I have 2005 Jeep grand Cherokee with 3.7 engine , I do have that factory Purge valve on it and I do have the same issue like you guys. Did anybody think about the charcoal canister maybe that thing is clogged or some?
Would it be possible to strategically place a small fan which has a timer that activates when the ignition is switched off? As I recall some engines have fans that continue to run after the ignition has been switched off.
tried a purge solenoid /valve canister and it didnt fix it/ what about some type of inline fuel filter or inline check valve-also iI had a new fuel pump put in a yr back and its now making a buzzing sound as well/ the pressure release is a quick fix make sure you spray water around that area and carry more than one fire extinguishers.
Another example of dealers mindset: they only want you in the service bay with no knowledge about cars and your wallet open, or the new car office trading in your 2 year old vehicle at a 95% depreciation value on a new vehicle. They are not interested in helping us. Stay gold.
my friend has this issue and all the mechanics tell her to replace her starter. hers always eventually starts. she eventually figured out to put the key in the on position and hold it there for a bit so the fuel pump circulates the fuel. it will then start. maybe try that before getting in the engine. also, in the old days when my VW Rabbit would vapor lock I would open the gas cap. would that help? I would also open the hood to cool the engine. thanks for your video!
I’ve heard many say to replace the starter. The actual issue there is the starter solenoid wire, not the starter itself. I tried that repair with no luck. I would also cycle key to run the fuel pump, but that didn’t work for me either.
I see what your issue is, you could use a can of air and flip it upside down and really cool the fuel rail down. Or a spray bottle with water in it to pull the heat out.
I actually ordered a new throttle body this weekend but haven't put it on yet. I think I can return it as long as I don't open or use it. This may save me the money. I will try this first. I was sure it was a bad throttle position sensor but vapor lock would give the same indication so I will try this first. THANK YOU !!!!!
I seen another video I'm having a hard crank and then start that I'm trying to fix the other video said that you could run a fuel line check valve near the gas tank would prevent the gas from going back into the tank do you think that would work
Did you have any issues with an intermittent misfire, i.e. misfires while driving or at a stop light only when the engine is hot? Popping the hood to allow extra airflow in the engine bay helps considerably to alleviate the misfires unless it's really hot outside. Scan tool only shows codes for p0300 (random misfire) and p0201-208 (fuel injector circuit malfunctions). The wiring seems fine, I'm stumped.
Cole, I did not have those issues with my Jeep. However that is a common problem with most modern vehicles that utilize a coil-over-plug system. When coil packs start to go bad, they'll begin to deteriorate on the inside. This causes intermittent misfires only when the engine is hot. The P-0300 code is simply telling you "I know there is an intermittent misfire, but it is not frequent enough to pinpoint which cylinder." If you can, warm the vehicle up and put it in a situation where it will steadily misfire (Running, up to temp, in gear, foot on brake). Let it misfire for a while. The PCM will have to be able to detect a steady misfire to determine the correct cylinder. Once you have this info, replace that coil pack.
Have the exact same vehicle and the same problem I dump in some heat into the gas tank and let it sit for 10 minutes and then it fires right back up no problem but it sucks and it only happens to me in the winter time in his vehicle that's the only damn time it happens and it's a pain in the ass......
Just inherited an 07 3.6L Commander and have been having the same issues since it was my parents. Any updates on permanent fixes or word on how the Marvel Mystery Oil might help? Perfect running car other than this!
No updates currently. The only thing that somewhat helps is running Ethanol Free fuel (straight gas). Aside from that, I'm still having intermittent issues and use this temporary fix. Chrysler has been of no assistance at all, even the engineering dept. Basically I've been told that it is a 10+ year old vehicle and they are not required by law to produce parts and/or recall for any non-safety related issues. So basically, we are stuck with what we've got.
@@CCWP0251 i owns the same kind but mines is an 06 which it does the same thing.. once u shut the vehicle down u can hear it blowing bk to the tank but nobody seems to know why but overall its very dependable i had it for 2 yrs now and another problem im experiencing is sluggish acceleration sometimes whn its in park it will rev up on its own as if i pressed the gas i still cant figure it out what causing that problem unless its the throttle body or cable

@3208catbird Best believe I would have sent a lot of lead through that window at 1200fps if I was in that situation. I agree, this is definitely a safety issue. Not to mention if you keep cranking, the starter can catch fire. What if you had kids in the car and the engine bay suddenly ignites? Not a good thing at all. I'm glad your wife is okay!!

Gee I wish people knew what they're talking about!! Goto 3:52 exactly and the camera shadow is covering half of it (the unit with 2 wires coming out of it) that is a purge solenoid and it scavengers the fumes from the tank and re-cycles to be burnt in the engine.. I believe he's got a bad regulator and it's letting the fuel to return to the tank, hence no fuel pressure till you crank it few times.. Could be wrong but I don't think so!!
I’m planning on getting a Jeep Liberty 05/07 with the 3.7 l engine in it. As I was watching your video I came to wonder if the Liberties have that same problem or just the Grand Cherokee? Thanks and very informative video.
Hardly have issues like this with Toyota cars. I have a jeep and it's just filled with problems and it's just done over 140.000 km. Not miles. Kilometers!!
Mike, I don't think so. This issues is caused by excess heat. A cold Crank/No start could be caused by several different components. I would recommend having the vehicle checked over by a reputable mechanic.
Solution starts around 5:20, but the rest is very valuable information
Thanks

Keeps happening to my jeep and your the only that explains it best it keeps happening to me my 05 jeep.
I’m not alone! Thank you for identifying the real issue.
No problem. To be truthful, mine just got traded in over this very issue. I got tired of it leaving my wife stranded. Hope the video helped. 👍
@@CCWP0251 Thank you for this vid. The frustration of this happening is overwhelming especially at a time like this. Sometimes ill disconnect battery thinking itll work but nope. It randomly starts whenever it wants even after replacing battery ,starter , & alternator.
Loved the video brother very informative.. Did you by any chance find an alternative solution or hack for a more permanent fix..
I’ve also learned that you can spray throttle body cleaner in the intake to get the car back started up.
Try next time try changing the water thermostat to a 180-degree.
Any less temp will make an engine check light to come on. Also, you can change the radiator from a two core to a 4 core aluminum. This will make your engine run a lot cooler and last longer.
Do you have specific website, I can buy this upgraded 4 core radiator?
also an inline fuel filter might be a good option if it has a way to bleed out the air- i think its some kinda problem relating to having air in the lines. I might have almost fixed it
(below post) but if it doesnt im gonna run all the gas out of it and have a gas can in the jeep to put in it.
thank you it was driving me up a wall, now i just let the pressure out and bam starts right up. I thought i knew a lot put engines in put the valve body in to fix the going into limp mode. so, thanks again.
My old 66VWBeetle would vapor lock. We just put a few wooden clothes pins on the line to keep the heat dissipated. Might work...
Try it out.
That just saved my ass from being stuck a loooooong way from home Godspeed sir!
Glad I could help!
Omg..
Thank you so much , my 2010 jeep has done this twice now. I appreciate this so much.
Was it a permanent fix? How is the car now if you still have it?
thank you so much for this info - I have an 06 same problem and like you said it doesn't show a code for it- any 3.7 v6 engine jeep model vehicle likely has this same problem
Thank you
Love to see more of these videos that exactly point the issue. Thanks brother
This applies to Jeeps in '06 too...the "Jeep 65". Gonna try this .
I have a 2009 Jeep Commander with the 3.7
I replaced a battery and starter before seeing this video...this vid fully worked. I appreciate it.
I wondered if new injectors and spark might help?
You just need maximum cooling, so keep your oil fresh, get the correct coolant, and if you still have it, maybe try other thermostats or radiators
Amazing! Thank you so much!!! This JUST happened to me twice today!!! LIFE SAVER!!!
Thank you for this video. This issue has perplexed me for some time.
Thank you so much for the info. I was about to drop my fuel tank and change out the fuel pump. Ive had this problem intermittently for a while. I just recently cut off my huge muffler and welded on a 18 inch glass pack. Havent had the problem since.... The wk now runs a lot better. Great video
This seems to be the exact issue with I am dealing with. I am hoping this works and thanks for the insight.
Love you bro..you freaking nailed it..I burned my starter out doing the same.thing..and had to put a new starter in..thanks for this solution and answer
Glad I could help!
GENESIS ELI how is she holding up now? R u doing the wrap a rag and flat head release every time it doesn’t start like he advised? This is also my problem for the last month and I replaced the stock starter yesterday w a new one but now the new one cranks really super slow and loud before it starts 🤦🏽♂️ thinking about putting back the old starter since O’Reilly tested my stock starter and it passed the benchmark test nothing wrong w it the “vapor lock” is obv my problem as well on my 07 jgc I might switch the starters back today and just carry a rag & flat head for temporary solution like our main man here suggest ...
Same, mine has the 3.7 and I just bought mine 2 days ago, was gonna take it back to the dealer tomorrow but now that I’ve seen this I don’t know what to do
The purge valve is the round thing by your fuse box! Dorman 911-212 Vapor canister purge valve...
Having this issue with a 2006 Grand Cherokee 3.7. Thanks for the video
U doing the rag cover n release trick? How is she doing atm?
Marvel Mystery Oil in fuel has been working well. 4 oz per tank full. Check engine light even went off. No start condition comes right back if I forget to add the MMO. Still runs rough on occasion but 90% improvement since the MMO. Thank you to the MMO recommendation in these comments!
I was just very excited to hear that I won't be sick in this parking lot for long. I tried the trick, hot gas outta the valve, still won't start. I did have a coolant issue that. Happened about the same time. As this not starting thing happened
Got the hoses replaced that were leaking coolant.
What about insulating the fuel rail? Not sure if you tried this.
It does have a purge solenoid, it's right next to the battery, directly behind the positive terminal!!!!!
thank you! my 2010 jeep liberty has this problem in the heat
Your purge valve is in front of the fuse box I can see it in your video
Hello guys 👋
I have 2005 Jeep grand Cherokee with 3.7 engine , I do have that factory Purge valve on it and I do have the same issue like you guys. Did anybody think about the charcoal canister maybe that thing is clogged or some?
So good news is we finally know what the issue is. Bad news is there is no way to fix it?
Landon Ashby your are one smart cookie we put thank you use premium gas and and marvel mystery oil in fuel fixed this problem wife happy
Really?
Qqqqqqqqqqqqqqqq
Maybe get a fitting for a fuel guage that fits it. Rig up a hose from that to a bottle of some sort.
Same problem on 07 Jeep Commander... I'm gonna try heat shield tape
You figure out anything on keeping it from doing it? My 08 commander does the same
@@ConejoHTX I fixed it
What was it?
I get mine to work by releasing the gas pressure on the line in the front valve it has
Where did you put heat shield tape on the entire pipe line ?
Thank you so much. You just saved me from getting a new fuel pump only to still have the issue.
Wow
@@peterl6095 how did you figure your Jeep’s problems out? I saw your videos and I’m having the same problems.
I changed my fuel pump out and fixed the issue
Would it be possible to strategically place a small fan which has a timer that activates when the ignition is switched off? As I recall some engines have fans that continue to run after the ignition has been switched off.
My mom has a 07 grand cherokee with the v6 and it does this crazy crank like a missfire and grinding. I was thinking of replacing the fuel pump
Did it help.
I got one doing the same thing.
Misfiring, cranking rough, iding terrible. Only after warmed up.
If the cherokee has been sitting for a few days this would not be an issue correct?
tried a purge solenoid /valve canister and it didnt fix it/ what about some type of inline fuel filter or inline check valve-also iI had a new fuel pump put in a yr back and its now making a buzzing sound as well/ the pressure release is a quick fix make sure you spray water around that area and carry more than one fire extinguishers.
also my fuel pump is now making a humming noise-replaced it last yr
Thank you!!! Life saver having this same problem
Another example of dealers mindset: they only want you in the service bay with no knowledge about cars and your wallet open, or the new car office trading in your 2 year old vehicle at a 95% depreciation value on a new vehicle.
They are not interested in helping us.
Stay gold.
I just bought a 2007 Jeep commander and it just started doing this. I wish I knew about this before I bought it.
my friend has this issue and all the mechanics tell her to replace her starter. hers always eventually starts. she eventually figured out to put the key in the on position and hold it there for a bit so the fuel pump circulates the fuel. it will then start. maybe try that before getting in the engine. also, in the old days when my VW Rabbit would vapor lock I would open the gas cap. would that help?
I seen another video I'm having a hard crank and then start that I'm trying to fix the other video said that you could run a fuel line check valve near the gas tank would prevent the gas from going back into the tank do you think that would work
Why do these jeeps not do this when new? There has to be a piece of the puzzle that’s failing for this to happen.
Change the electrical wires and change the tubing smaller allowing pressure cut n weld
I don't understand what you mean???
Did you have any issues with an intermittent misfire, i.e. misfires while driving or at a stop light only when the engine is hot? Popping the hood to allow extra airflow in the engine bay helps considerably to alleviate the misfires unless it's really hot outside. Scan tool only shows codes for p0300 (random misfire) and p0201-208 (fuel injector circuit malfunctions). The wiring seems fine, I'm stumped.
Cole,
I did not have those issues with my Jeep. Once you have this info, replace that coil pack.
back in the day had a 56 ford had to rap fuel line wiyh aluminum foil
I'm having the same issue. What about heat shield tape? Would that help at all?
@@028tyrone mine is an 08 and you mentioned all the same issues I experience. Love the car. Just weird issues here and there. It’ll lock and unlock by itself like I used the key or someone else’s key worked on mine.
I have the same exact vehicle, I'm gonna look into an electronic valve with a switch on the dash
Would an aftermarket transmission cooler work?
My 2010 Jeep Cherokee is having this exact issue!
I have a 2006 jeep commander. Can this be the same issue
I'm having a similar issue but my jeep will shut off while it's on at low speeds and them iy wont start again took it in to the dealer they had it for 2 weeks to tell me I needed a new battery 🤦♂️
I had the same problem same truck and year , I changed spark plugs and coils packs all 6, and stopped using premium gas. NEVER HAPPENED AGAIN
it is NOT a motor , it is an ENGINE!
Had the same issue...until I modified the fuel rail.... completely fixed the issue..
What did you do to modify exactly?
@@shabawynn1542 Very interesting..Thanks!!
@@shabawynn1542 Hey thanks for the info. Can you direct me to the forum? This problem is killing me
Gee I wish people knew what they're talking about!!
And where is the regulator?
@@jaimeurbinarosas fuel pump
But WHY is it doing that NOW. It obviously was not doing that when the car was new.
I’m planning on getting a Jeep Liberty 05/07 with the 3.7 l engine in it. As I was watching your video I came to wonder if the Liberties have that same problem or just the Grand Cherokee? Thanks and very informative video.
@frank1992 To my knowledge, all 3.7 engines from 07-10 have the issue. Thanks!
I have a 2012 Jeep Liberty that I believe has the exact same issue
Yes they dp
Hardly have issues like this with Toyota cars. I have a jeep and it's just filled with problems and it's just done over 140.000 km. Not miles. Kilometers!!
I was working on a 2010 Jeep commander 3.7 L. It was not vapor lock. I tried it four times. I was four miles from my house when it happen
My valve doesn't have a cover. Could that be an issue?
It starts at 5:01
do you think that would cause a cold ...crank no start?
Mike, I don't think so. This issues is caused by excess heat. A cold Crank/No start could be caused by several different components. I would recommend having the vehicle checked over by a reputable mechanic.
