The only one who can somewhat hang on to Pog is Jonas. And even he’s quite far off, at least at this very moment. All Tadej needed to do was to hug Jonas’s rear wheel irrespective of who else does what. The gulf in peak performance between Pog and the rest is simply too big for any mind games and trick scenarios.
What I love about Pogacar is he always attacks, you know he loves to ride. With the old Sky & Ineos & TJV trains you know they would bore you for three weeks of doing nothing.
Not just attacks, but to attack the Hautacam after only 2 km's is just nuts. Guy is definitely the most exciting and best rider we have seen in many years.

This year looks crazier because jonas is nowher near the level of last year (in numbers: he did 6.23 watts per kilo yesterday for 37 mins. Last year on stage 15 he did around 6.8 watts per kilo for 40 mins…) pog is around the same level, 6.77 watts per kilo yesterday compared to 6.98 watts per kilo last year. So yesterday should not raise suspicions any more than last year… whether last year should raide suspicions ill leave up to you, just wanted to show that this year is not (yet?) as incredible as last year
He’s so fun to watch. Normal people would use their team as long as they can at a sensible pace and then make a move with 3-4K left, not Tadej. All gas with 11 to go, crazy.
The tour route this year was meant to crack Pog including this climb which he got dropped on by Jonas on in 2022. Instead of cracking him it’s had the opposite effect.

He's got arm strength, leg strength/speed, and amazing hand-eye coordination. In cycling terms, it's a bit as though the world's best climber was also the world's best sprinter, and perhaps the best one-day race guy. Baseball has never really seen anything like him. He is a bit of a unicorn. Very few athletes are considered unicorns. And in this case, he has all assets of an amazing athlete (speed, strength, hand-eye coordination). One thing he might not have is cardio - it's hard to say because baseball doesn't really test that as much, but he has pretty much every other toolset of an amazing athlete. Pogi is an amazing cyclist and athlete for sure, but to claim he's the best athlete is tough when not all aspects of an athlete's body are tested. I just provided another candidate, and in my view, for reasons that are justifiable. I've thrown his hat in the ring, and I think it's reasonable. You don't have to agree, but to dismiss it just because it's baseball shows you know nothing about Shohei Ohtani (and very little about what makes being the best in baseball very hard to do for anyone).
UAE let Jumbo burn themselves out with all their games in the 1st week and a half. Constantly chasing meaningless breaks and attacking in places that made no sense to attack. Not surprised that Jorgenson eventually hit a wall and now he himself is down more than 10 minutes and no longer a serious GC threat to Pogi. Jumbo thought they were going to wear out Pogi and UAE and instead they only wore out themselves. LOL

From what I have seen Jonas is just hanging on. Hes racing well strategically. But he is not attacking at all. He is just hanging on. Pogacar should win the Tour De France by 4 or 5 mins imo.
Crazy how the fans are actually touching the riders as the go by, and around 4 minutes was a flag flying in a rider's face. Also, why was the Yellow jersey alone on that climb? I thought the teammates of whoever has the Yellow would be there for him.

These ideas are at least several years old (that Pog has problems on long climbs in the high mountains and in the heat).
To be fair, Jorgensen was made to do a lot of attacks before this stage.
