Even we have system like REALSCHULE that is ITI . In ITI from plumbing ,electrician and for every hardware job training should be given.
But problem is ITI centres are not maintained properly. No proper trainers , no proper equipment .
And also there is very low respect and low pay for these hardware jobs .
There is need to change in attitude against these jobs and also change in way these ITI centres are maintained .
And also pays for these jobs should be increased

I've study in a school where carpenter, driver, labour, farmer, entrepreneur is considered as illiterate, lack of skill people. I just hate my life when I came to know about the real meaning of life. Our elders only consider as successful when someone get govt job.

I remember when I was studying in London in late 70’s, there was never a pressure for studying and everything was relaxed. Students in my class use to also show interest in jobs or career in post office, mechanics, bus driver and what not. Further more than half the class use to join vocational training after school. I myself did metal work in school and made such things, which when I see now amaze me as to how I made them

Being a person with 4 different degrees, I feel so sad about the days after my 12th.. I used to stress too much. When you said people take break for 1YEAR for traveling... That's really heartbreaking that why our economy isn't so strong.. why the system doesn't run the way it should be..why there is so rigidity..

I am Indian and reside in Austria. I did BSc from Delhi University, and MBA(BWL) amd PhD from Vienna University. Here edicatopm system is so relaxed. And Professors teach in Applied form. Means to apply knowledge in Projets. Professors never demand to write qutations of Scholars. Here views of students are basis of performance

The Indian education system revolves around NCERT books. So, if you have by hearted it line by line you will score more! Well, guys its more like a book could decide our future, which isn't possible. But our system is just too adamant to let the students think out of the box! Thats why even our parents compel us to study something which is not our interest, and not to follow our passion !

And as far as the placements are concerned, the network and internship process they are saying is applicable in India too. In fact, I myself got placed through internships and networks. The main motive of placements in college are giving jobs to everyone. Everybody know that people with good internships and network will automatically get placed, but college placement cells help those students who fail to gain proper internships or network.
