Oh it's so nice to watch someone discovering sims 3 for the first time! I love this part of the game, I still remember how desperately I wanted it when I was a kid but my computer wasn't too good and it took a while until I finally could play haha. Hope you enjoy it all the way!
@Reese-sim I do sometimes! As well as Sims 2, but recently I've been playing Sims 4, got a new PC which makes this game actually playable 😄 although it's still not as engaging as previous games
@@adriannajedwabna5072 I find the first games most enjoyable too. I think that because there are fewer traits and stuff to keep track on, there is instead more room for game play. But maybe it's the nostalgia for me 😉
My favorite Sims edition, can't play any of the other ones :P I'm too attached to the open world, and my nostalgia attached to the game overall. Been playing it for 11 years now
Yeah, the social interaction system is very very different. The context is very important for opening up more interactions. Romantic conversations have 3 contexts: Flirty, Alluring, and Irresistible. Alluring will add the Massage, Confess Attraction, First Kiss, and Makeout (if boyfriend/girlfriend+ status already) interactions. Irresistible will unlock Leap into Arms, Whisper in Ear, Stroke Cheek, Embrace, Makeout (when not dating), Propose Going Steady, Propose Marriage, Woohoo, and Try For Baby. Friendly conversations are very similar with 3 contexts: Okay, Being Sociable, and Being Friendly. Two important interactions are locked behind Being Friendly: Ask to Move In and Ask to Stay Over (also requires being later in the day). Changing the context just requires doing more successful interactions in the category you're going for, usually about 3-4 successes and it'll go up. Your cake caught fire because there were curtains above them 😂 Memories are found in the Scrapbook which is in the bottom-left corner of the Simology panel. Your sims don't actually remember these things like in 2, it's just for the player. Memories bloat save files if you don't turn them off or get a mod to cut out memories for dumb things like "Went Swimming. Taking a swim is a relaxing and refreshing way to spend a hot afternoon." I personally love the way rabbit holes work, especially when the household starts getting larger. You can keep tabs on the whole house at the same time but maybe you need a break from someone for a while: Rabbit hole! Have 1 or 2 sims work something active and everyone else can go disappear for a bit. It's a stress-reducer. I don't need more community lots that aren't adding anything meaningful to do.
Here's some tips/info: There's more kissing interactions available when you have more packs. There's "dip kiss" "heat of the moment kiss" and a few others i think but i can't remember which packs they came with Picking traits for the baby is all just depending on how the pregnancy goes. If you want to pick both traits for the baby, keep the moodlets of the mother positive like granting wishes like getting a massage while pregnant and stuff same with when the toddler grows up into a child, make sure they learn to walk, talk and use the toilet and you can pick their 3rd trait In the options menu if it's too annoying you can check "suppress opportunities" if the quests are that annoying Also yeah sims 3 sims always get stuck they're SO stupid, if you have a sim who gets stuck you can turn "moveobjects on" under the cheats panel as long as you've already enabled testing cheats and go into buy mode and move them from the spot their stuck in. The rabbit hole thing is a huge issue in the sims 3, i think they made it like that so the game doesn't lag as much since it's an open world and they chose having an open world rather than open lots. I hope you enjoy the game more and more as you play and explore it more!! :)
@@Reese-sim Yep! speaking of details. If you want to have a boy, have your pregnant sim eat loads of apples and if you want a girl have her eat watermelon. i think you need to eat at least 3 and you can harvest them around the town or buy them at the supermarket if you want them and you're welcome. any sims 3 videos you post i'll give tips and tricks or even details if you need them to make the game easier
@@Reese-sim Yep there's a lot to the game. While some small details of the sims 2 are gone, there's added in details in 3 that 2 doesn't have. also the game gets more fun with more packs such as seasons
with flirting or trying to woohoo a sim, i try to keep an eye on how the other sim is feeling about the convo -- best to try when the other sim feels like you're irresistible!!
@@Reese-sim I think it’s if the mom’s mood is in the green bars the whole time. You can also buy pregnancy books which I assume make the pregnancy “smoother”
I laughed so hard here 14:28 You doing the job, the fireman just looking and the guests making the fire dance. 😂😂 I tried Sims 3 back then, but Jesus, it was so heavy! I borrow it to see if the same humble pc from Sims 2 would run it. It didnt work well, slow motion situation 🤔 The open world was an amazing feature, but i guess that was the price to be paid. Dont really understand whey they took it off from sims 4 though (at least as far i know). Love your gameplay and video Reese. I'm glad you are able to play how it was meant to, to me is almost everything new! keep it up!!
Haha the fireman definitely told himself 'Oh this is an easy day on the job' 😂 😂 I'm happy you like it - the game is new for both of us then. I hope my PC keeps it up. I already got an expansion pack and I think the screen-loading time has gone up 🙃
@@Reese-sim I can imagine, long loading is a classic from The Sims. 😅 From all the expansions, there were two that i wanted so much to play. Fingers crossed to be one of them (no spoiler till video please 🙏🙏)
Protip, instead of stopping the flirting to go to bed, flirt until it says they find your sim "extremely irresistible", and then the option to woohoo will be in the sim interaction pie menu, and they won't reject you...
@Reese-sim Some interactions are more accepted/rejected based on traits, or even locked to certain traits, but this one isn't (except that flirty sims are more likely to accept all flirty interaction, while unflirty sims are more likely to reject them, and interactions from charismatic sims are more likely to be accepted in general...)
@@Reese-sim "Charismatic" is one of the traits, not someone with high charisma skills (which you need friends to advance, btw. For careers you don't need, but for this skill, yes)...
I can't tell yet, because I have only recently played both games (I got stuck in 2004-2009 with the Sims 2) 😂And I still have SO much more to explore with sims 3 and 4. Which game is your favorite? 😊 😊

You can only give your kids traits if they grow up well. If they had a bad pregnancy/childhood they get random traits.
That makes such good sense! What constitutes a good pregnancy?
