The hard freeze is nuts. The freezing rain/sleet came in at 3 or 4 am. It was a new sound and waking up to everything frozen over was cool. It's just too cold for my liking. Stay warm!!!
Yesterday it was -18 with a wind chill of -45 degrees. Now that's a cold front .
@rarebond8102 if fish feel no pain what is the point of spines, they would do no good when a bigger fish showed up. Anyone who has ever tried to net a fish will tell you that it notices the threat and flees. People don't give wildlife enough credit.

Bruh, I recently moved down here, and I can't believe the trash in the water and waterways. I do wish the Parish or whomever would do a better job cleaning areas like this out though. Stay safe and warm, sir!
yeah you right for crappie in this weather and how we city folk miss the season. It's cold on Toledo Bend, too. I've caught big unit slabs there when it's like this. They're like 16 feet or more deep there. The shallower depth here is nice, but they are way smaller. I bet your dog kids would love Toledo Bend. Also, I know it's a battle we'll never really win, but I'd still clean that plastic up with a net. You're not wrong.
The plastic problem is also the responsability of the distributor. They could be using a biodegradible plastic. In Michigan there is a returnable refund on bottles and cans. The retailers hate it because they have to handle the empty containers but I think it has helped keep people from tossing them on the ground. Even if a consumer is responsable and throws the empty container in the trash it still goes into a landfill.
