- My name is Chrome i have been living in y cargo van for 6 years now. I started this lifestyle BROKE and IN DEBT and after 11 months of living the van life i cleared my debt and started to put my life back together and build for a better future. I have turned my original van into a badass camper van that is lifted with all the toys. Over the years i went from being broke and stealth camping in the city and sleeping at walmarts... to now, living fulltime in a jacked up van and driving deep off-grid into the backcountry and living life in the dirt. WOW LIFE HAS CHANGED.
I now have a shop space to keep me busy through the winters here on Canada's westcoast. Went from Van Life to VAN LIFE + SHOP LIFE !!!!!! Come join this crazy van life journey of mine. HIT SUBSCRIBE, trust me its gonna be a WILD RIDE.

Loren has to be the best friend forever. The stuff that he does for you and knowing that you’re back hurts is just unbelievable. And fixing your truck all those months just unbelievable. Loren is definitely your brother from another mother.❤❤❤
Loren is the Best!!♥️ I hope Chrome realizes what a Fantastic Brother he has!
It didn’t come free
Amanda is correct. According to feng shui having your back to any entrance or window will trigger your instincts with a possible threat, making an uncomfortable space.
Always better to have desk/table facing the window, so when you're working, you can look outside. Also cuts down glare on the computer.
So much to be grateful for ! Loren is an angel!
Loren looked pretty comfortable in that chair!
Loren is the Best!!!♥️💯👍
Thanks Loren what would we do without you! We appreciate you! 🎉
I am so happy you are sharing your bathroom facilities with your van life friends. I always said if I ever won the lottery, I'd buy a piece of land for van stop overs with a building for bathroom, laundry, and water available.
Please tell me you saved a spot at the new shop for those license plates because I still have one to send you. LOL
6:57 make sure you have the tables high enough for work don’t want to be bending over.
12:43 did you know by leaving the toilet seat up, when you flush microscopic urine and poop molecules fly up to 3 meters from the toilet.
So, Make sure the seat is always down!!!!!
A recommendation is to install a scissor gate for the upstair bay door, the bay door could be left open.
thanks, Loren, for helping Chrome. We appreciate you. Chrome the place will be wonderful.
All those number plates at the old shop have to come of the walls and be relocated in the new shop as well. That's work.
Loren just makes you smile, he's one of those who has just figured it out. Love the chemistry you two bring together.
Move Amanda's station to the window side
We talked about that too! But we think easier if the packing table is closer to the pallet door. We will have to feel it out once we have some tables and things up there.
@Makeitbymandy I completely agree on the done and packaged side for it to go out the door. That's where the line should end and be ready for delivery. There is ample amount of room for short-storage along the exit wall. Build the order with a view (not knowing what it might be) to give more flow to ordering system. To the right of the bathroom should be one computer taking daily requests. Requests can be filled along the window side with a postage printer at the end of the table. Opens up the center of the room for a shirt printer or a conference desk
Chrome idea can you with help make video of two chrome s the old as in early shows and the new talking with each other about then they old and new as in today chrome and the chrome of yesteryear lot of work but it would be high class show. 😎
Ya don’t have to be BLOOD 🩸 ❤TO BE BROTHERS, or FAMILY ❤
Hi Chrome, Screen Printer here. Huge advice, let the screen printers print. All the ink, equipment, everything to make ite work. Far better off paying for the service and a million less issues to sell your product. honest advice
My mom used to have a screen printing business. And we literally had a chat the other day about all the equipment he would need. He never does anything without putting A LOT of thought into it :)
My dude, I think what you're doing is freakin' awesome! Very excited to see how this goes! 😎👍
Loren, needs to watch himself too 😊, he is a blessing for all for sure. Everything is coming along nicely. Amanda is going to have a great work space 👍✌️✌️❣️
"Everything in it's place so it looks clean" is a battle plan that rarely survives first contact 🙂 You're not a hoarder, you're an average guy that is trying to make order out of craziness.
Chrome & Cruzie Rock!!!
Have a great day
Desperately need a rug to soak up the echo 👍
I have a great idea for the stairs. Multicoloured with your logo colours! Grey, black, white, red and continue the pattern. So each step will be a different colour. Fun!!
Please put a rack of hooks in your bathroom for towels and clothes while you’re showering.
YES 100% agree! And, a shelf or 2 to set your toiletry bag and such on would be very functional. 🤓
You are living the dream Chrome, great friends an awesome doggie and a wonderful following, can’t get much better than that!
Love that you are using Gildan for the shirts, that is a quality brand.
Shrinks like crazy. I bought a XL mens pullover hoodie, so it would fit me long, after washing it about 6 or 7 times, it now fits like a sm. It is 6" shorter than it was when I got it. 😢
I think the worker who receives the raw material merchandize, which must be put in stock after the pallet arrives upstairs through the roll up door, would be happier if the racks are very close to that.
And at the same time Mandy who does fullfilment, will be happy not to be scared to fall down if the door is open while she's working.
I am the worker who will receive the raw merchandise if Chrome is on his travels. 😂
Im also the worker who will put the pallet full of supplies up there if Chrome is not around.
When I was there a few days ago we discussed some layout possibilities and the one he speaks of in the video is my favourite option. My biggest issue up there is that I didnt like working with my back to the room/windows. Lol ✌️
I hope he can figure out something so you can look out those great windows😃😃👍
@@Pjbuck55 Hi Janie :)
Did you ever get any of my email responses to your questions?
And im not so worried about looking out the windows, it just felt really weird with back to them. Lol
I can't wait to see the furniture arrangement. 😊
I really like how the design aesthetic in the new shop is a continuation of the interior design of your van. The grey and white with wood accents are made even more dramatic with the black The round chairs and the round mirror echo the bubbles in the wood on the van. Looks awesome Chrome.
Chrome so much change is happening all at once.
Don't forget a spot for the Red sofa for Cruzie! 😊 That's so nice of you to get Coffee, Tea and Bagels for Loren and Emily. ❤ Glad to see you smiling and Happy.
Chrome gave away the Cruzies couch and one of the round chairs is going to be for cruize.
Hi Chrome, To minimize dust getting into your upstairs space you may want to consider installing an HRV (Heat Recovery Ventilator) or ERV (Energy Recovery Venilator) to create a positive pressure in that upstairs space compared to your garage space. A positive pressure will push the dust back into the garage instead of allowing it to drift into the upstairs space. Talk to your HVAC guy to determine whether they install HRVs or ERVs in your area. An HRV recovers just heat and an ERV recovers heat and moisture. BTW, I'm so amazed with everything you are doing and wish you the best of success.
Would be cool if you have a small area for merch in the new shop by next summer when I get to come up through BC and the Yukon again.
Hi, this will be a nice addition to the Island, hopefully less waiting for parts 👍🤗🎉
The shop looks great so far and can't wait to see it complete.
The shop looks awesome. Chrome, you're a visionary.
The place looks great!! Great use of black and white. Love it!!!
Me I love an apple fritter. Getting ready for my trip to the Island leaving Calgary on the 24th. Getting my Jeep sorted out. Looking forward to doing back country camping. 😊
Thank you for using Uline❣️ I retired from the Georgia branch in January 2023. Its a great company to work for.
Love to see the shop taking shape!
G'DAY Chrome🍻
CHROME, Wow those big changes sound intense a bit !
I guess you have so much room in the new shop your trying to
compartmentalize everything so
You have a more uncluttered look. Don't forget to take time for yourself too !!.
Whats up Chrome?! Love you and Cruz!! That little guy is awesome 👍😎🐕🚐🇨🇦🤘 You absolutely Rock Bro!!
Hi 😎,🐶,👨🔧🙂The shops coming together nicely! Your new plans are going to be so functional; T.Y. for sharing ; Great Video;🤗👍;; ❤️🫂;;😎🐶&👨🔧;;See You Soon 🙂
Got mine on ! Weirdos Unite! T-shirt!
Put the tall shelves with shirts on long wall so u don’t block the windows the lighting u won’t want to block
Morning fellas ✌️
Evening fella 👋
I’ve set up a few workspaces. My advice for upstairs, because it’s so wide open consider getting some partitions, like “cubical walls. It will make the work space quieter, also keep things from falling off the backside of your worktable.
Cheaper way to accomplish this is “pipe and drape”. Or for a fun space filler, a couple market umbrellas will define a space.
Open layout just seems more inviting & comfortable. Only time & use of the space will let Chrome know what works for their needs.🤔
Put the tshirts by the garage door table chairs and couch ..set up looks ok..
I LOVE my height adjustable Husky workbenches. Amanda, and your back, will thank you too. Available at home depot in many colors and lengths.
Great video. Your new shop is going to look amazing. Huge hugs back xx
For those that couldn't join the Live last night: William has left the building. 😂
😂 ... yup ...
Hey William if you're out there ... don't be a 💩ie head LOL 😄 ... ✌️
Hahahahaha BYE WILLIAM
I seen that 😅 what a goof 🤪
@@VANCITYVANLIFEChrome... I clipped that part and sent it to a young mom that was being trolled/bullied because she's struggling to find new housing... that block waa EPIC😂😂😂💕
It was fantastic the way he did it
You could be an interior designer. Your shops look awesome!
Ugh that’s the hard part putting stuff in its right place to make that flow
Oh my, I just thought about Jeffie. You may want to build a palate platform for the forklift to get Jeffie upstairs. Or not?
Hey Chrome and Cruz and Loren...
I love the way the shop looks. Fresh!
Stay say and look after yourself ❤😊
Glad to see it all coming together from Australia!
May all these uploads pay for this build out! COMMENT on videos COMMUNITY! 🤘🏽
It's all coming together nicely. A Vancouver Van Clan reunion! What fun!
You might want to provide some Clorox or Lysol wipes for your guests to use on the toilet and other hard surfaces when they use your facilities. I mean, since you're considerate enough to provide coffee and baked goods, why not look out for their health too? I'm sure Emily, Amanda, and Loren will appreciate it now in the old space, and anyone who's a guest in your new shop's upstairs entertainment/recreation area will certainly appreciate your attention to detail. Nice work so far Chrome!
You knowinstead of a conference table, why not a island, you could hide awaysmall machines like screenprinting Lazer and stuff o swing up shelves from cabinets underneath than have a clear top and people can sit on barstools.
Hey chrome I do printing and screen printing as my job in Victoria for the last 6 years, I may be convinced to relocate up island if you buy some screen printing presses in the future!! Let’s go!
Chrome can't wait for the new shop and upstairs reveal. Really happy for you. Regards from South Africa
maybe a nice rubber mat to stand on while you work at that table. i know!
I agree! Easier on the knees, back and feet!
Chrome you live in a city. Go look for used shelving And cabinets. Lots available
Heya Chrome, we had luxury vinyl planks installed in my Mum's house and the Installers told us to keep the sunlight off of them, not sure if that's what you have, just thought I'd let you know, they suggest a rug/mat to cover any area the sun is always on them, or draw the blinds until the sun has moved.
Everything's lookin awesome Chrome! I recall suggesting that you get yourself a shop about 4 years ago before you ever even mentioned one, and look at you now!! Yes Sir!! Great to see it all!
😂 William😂
Nice live last night, I won't tell you I feel asleep with you so last night😂 about the last ten minutes and I was out!
You might want to install exhaust fan on your shop to circulate air better when you do some works.
After watching this video, I could hear Amanda say" oh no Chrome went shopping again!!" Cheers 🎉
I wish the best for you
Ambo build R.I.P
A simple idea that I use when I set up a space initially. Build counters, can be inexpensive, open under for storage until you use the space and see how things really flow, you know like van life 😊. Use painted PVC pipe with caps for legs inexpensive and can handle a lot of weight. At least until it is all figured out. I typically keep them. Just a thought
The EPIC “AFTER HOURS” CHILL SPACE. 🎉
I'm so down for the Jeffie Bear visit and would be super cool having a bush campout with your friends. BRING IT ON!!!
Loren testing out retirement lol
Thanks for the update. I really look forward to them.
Pretty cool t-shirts! Glad your in happiness. Hope you get to see many more great sunsets.
I’m so excited it looks so great Chrome! 🎉😊❤
Pretty exciting to see all of this come together. How many employees are you going to have to work on vans?
Chrome you have my resume! Send me any shoes you don't want thanks. Kevin
hi crome say hi too croozy
Your shop is going to look amazing when finished
Hi Chrome
Epic chrome/ let’s get it done see some bush soon !
I wish I had your chance to do what you are doing i could only dream of it
I watched till the very end! 😊 16:22
Take care and stay safe
Cool stuff Chrome 😎 🤗✌️
Awesome chrome, shop is looking sweet. I’ll watch for you on the next one you and Cuzzy bear. Have a great evening. Catch you on the next one until then. Peace and chicken grease😁😁🐶👋👋😎
That second-floor garage door scares the heck out of me. You're going to need a safety mat that sets off an alarm and closes that door if someone steps on the mat.
It's sooo exciting to see it come together! Lauren's 100 Perrrcent Purrrrfect!
Some Ol School gray lockers would look awesome and u gotta have a spot to put work/ clean clothes n shoes😊
Oh Costco has some great roll out drawers on sale right now. In the auto section area.
Sir Cruzy 🎉
I just read a 5.0 earthquake hit Vancouver Island on Thursday. Hope you are all ok.❤
Hopefully in about two weeks I’ll be there with heads and see the new shop
You are bringing emi her heads?
Chrome🎉
Cooooool chrome ✨️ 👌
