Darren V. Oh ya this is true! It’s the last days for sure. Jesus said perilous Times would come and it is sooooo bad. The evil is so strong I feel like I dodge spiritual bullets daily. So much murder, hate, rebellion defiance against God and His principals. These are very dark times and it will lay get worse. We are closer to the rapture than we think.
Suicide isn't a way to stop the pain, it just passes it to other people...

We do pray for his wife and family. We Do that!! But We as Christians Cant let Someone else say its ok. Hes depressed, then half this world would do it!! Yes we are to judge and see if it lines up with scripture. And this sure doesont. Especially on the part of the pastor

I’m a Oneness Apostolic Pentecostal Christian and I have met this man once before he was married to his wife and this man had such a great personality about him that I never would have thought he struggled with Depression I truly wished I could have spoken with him once more with my brother and have a conversation about God
I to struggle and have a son who lives in Hawaii. My son has ADHD and ended up driving off a 40 foot cliff. My son has also been beat up several times and has been in another accident and has died and came back and has brain injuries as well has been in a few comas. I too suffer and ask why why Jesus? My son is now in Hawaii state hospital. I'm so sorry to hear this lost of Jarrid Wilson and I'm praying for his family and friends.
Any loss is very sad. Sorry to hear about this. I hope and pray that God gives your family as well as Jarrid's family the peace and understanding needed to get through this tragedy.

I am so very sorry to hear about Jarrid’s death. I didn’t know he but I can only imagine the struggles he must have been dealing with. I had a good friend who was also a pastor who committed suicide about 5 years ago. None of us saw it coming.
Satan is such a vicious but unfortunately good liar that can convince us to believe a lie.
I will pray for his family and his Church family who will miss him so very much.

I stand in total agreement and it's crazy because I just did a teaching last night on fb and RUclips concerning the same subject matter on how Jesus has paid our sin debt in full and that brother Jarrid is in heaven inspite of such a sad end. My Name is John, I will share a true painful story with you all and for everyone to read, because I do not hide in the shadows, nor do I hide in the dark. I once tried to commit suicide and awoke in the hospital with tubes down my throat Thank God the Father, my Godly mother came to pick me up from the weekend visit at my dad's or else I would be in Hell and not speaking to you all! I took a bottle of my dad's valiums. I did not want to live! I was 15 yrs old. MY dad was a pervert. He cheated on my mother many times and after their divorce, ended up marrying my girl-friends mom, making my future wife to be Susan, my step sister! My step sister Susan died in a car accident! It caused me so much pain.
Good news, At 16 yrs I became an emancipated minor and found Harvest Christian Fellowship and I have lived a Godly life on my own every year since then!
I married a Jesus loving woman, concimated on our honeymoon after, our marriage before God! She loved Jesus, yet later in the marriage cheated on me with a police Officer I knew of after I fell off a ladder and was bed ridden and could not perform any relations or much of anything else, but you see, even that did not bother me, because I always felt forced into having relations with my ex-wife! I believe that sex during marriage should only be for the making children and we were done with that! So call me square, I don't care!
The fact is I forgave my ex wife, but I divorced her before God, just as I married her before God! I still forgive her! I forgive Greg!
Look I cannot defend why Pastor Greg said something incorrect at an emotional time ( as it was also emotional for him) But this was not a normal service nor was it a teaching message! It was for a small group and maybe should not have been uploaded for anyone whom has never considered suicide before!
You can judge all you want to, God gives you that freedom. But remember this, Mathew 5:22! I can defend Greg on the one thing that counts for me, had it not been for Greg Laurie's teachings, I would be dead a long time ago, so thank you Pastor Greg for all the good years of your teachings. I think it's a bit more than reading the Bible, following, loving and worshipping Jesus to be free mental health problems. I think none of us can judge anyone's sanity at all, because of Mathew 5:22!

If you are Seeking Truth do it in love. Being insensitive is also unbiblical, I advise you to be very careful with that. For we are jugged by every idle word we speak or write. This is not a time to quote random scriptures. Greg often preaches on the topic of falling away and that sinning is a downer. Pray in stead for us that we stay awake and that we don’t fall away if you are concerned for that during this very tough time.

It sounds like Jarrid's depression was clinical, brain chemistry, thus a physical ailment. The brain is an organ in the body. I realize this happened 4 years ago, but from personal experience, I know that Satan takes advantage of our weaknesses, sicknesses, and vulnerabilities. I pray the Lord will put it upon people's hearts who are struggling with suicidal thoughts to reach out.
When someone becomes a Christ follower they are accepted into God's kingdom from that moment on. We are all sinners and we are all forgiven for every sin we have committed and will commit, even suicide. But suicide destroys the amazing future that God has planned for each and every one of us. We are unable to see the future and who's lives we can touch and improve if we only keep pushing forward and delete all the lies that the devil tells us.

What about the part in the bible to not keep on sinning? Once saved always saved is a lie from Satan. Dont believe it. We are to be Holy. The bible cleary says many times repent. Turn away from your sins. Not do as the heathens do! He didnt die for us to just live like we want in this world.
In a perfect world, that sounds wonderful. Study your bibles, wake up at the crack of dawn everyday and let God speak into your life. Don’t entertain negative thoughts and remember, God is your counselor and healer - not social media. Don’t be misled.
Thank you Pastor Greg Laurie and Harvest! You are a part of His purpose, my testimony and salvation story going back to the 2010 Harvest Crusades, especially when Greg spoke about the passing of his son, "Topher/Christopher", his background story and Robert Frost's poem about the road not taken, and ultimately about accepting Jesus as my Lord and Savior. Everything I had ever felt in my life in that moment was affirmed by God that evening at Harvest back then. It was meant to be, it was always Him guiding me all along. Thank you Jesus and to Him be the glory, we don't have to worry, it's all about His story! Nothing and nobody is greater than our Creator. Thank you Greg and Harvest for knowing Him and making Him known. It is because of you I know him, why I am alive, and why I live for Him! My deepest prayers are with Jarrid's family and all those at the Harvest family and those dealing with the struggles and suffering of so much in this broken world, especially mental/emotional trauma that so many endure, which is very much the same as physical. Only God truly knows our hearts and minds. I've realized how much this world is not our home and so much that is God-breathed scripture written in the book of John. I've been battling depression and anxiety, fear and worry much of my life and as of the later years, having gone through a divorce for almost 6 years and very abusive marriage for almost 8 years, losing almost everything, also always having felt like a stranger and foreigner to this earth even since I was young... but while I have lost so much I have actually gained, have not gained the world and have not lost my soul but rather gained perspective, humility, selflessness, strengthening of my faith in Him despite any circumstances and not being distracted. I've also learned my calling for helping others as I've done for many years already, I've realized what gifts so many of us have and mine for supporting those in need, to give no matter what, to be ears and a heart we have been given that we use this to be stewards and influencers for His glory and Kingdom! I have so many blessings, miracles, and testimony that I have bared witness to including my daughter, my story with my father surviving heart attack and stroke when I was young as well as cancer, along with my mother who is also a survivor. We all have so many blessings and so much joy, like His gift, it is whether we choose to accept it or not. Many of those stories I have, have been manifested by God through scripture, His voice, Jesus and the Holy Spirit all in one, the triune Godhead through Creation, other people (especially those that are homeless/on the street) that some would call the least of these but are so much more than people that think they have it all and are living for themselves. Greater is He who is living in me than he who is living in the world! - as John says. These people have a heart for Jesus, despite their circumstances and still on fire for Him. Even those that are on fire for Him can still be hurting, such as so many dealing with depression that are true followers and believers, Christians that have a true relationship with Christ Jesus, a life of faith with action. Those that want to say mean and evil spirited things about Greg or the Harvest Church, please examine the plank in your own eye and your own hearts. I believe that in Greg's story alone with his son he lost, as difficult as Greg has admitted it is, God has used this as a sacrifice to spread the Gospel and the good news to the multitudes and use Greg and all his callings to glorify God and His Kingdom. Pastor Greg Laurie still trusts and surrenders to God, Jesus almighty! Praise be to Him always and God bless Harvest Church, Harvest ministries, Harvest Crusades and their team! God bless and pour His abundance of grace and discernment and mercy over all those broken and hurting, pray for healing and His provision, and strength, His full armor and protection! Saul’s salvation rests with God, not with us. We have no certain knowledge of the condition of Saul’s heart. As Scripture says, only God sees the heart (1 Samuel 16:7). The Bible does indicate that a person’s spiritual transformation will be evidenced by his or her “fruit” (Matthew 7:16-20). If a person continually produces “bad fruit,” then it is unlikely that he is a true believer.
Anyone who’s asking the question ‘Will committing SC keep you out of heaven?’ Is missing the point.
When we look at the characters of someone’s life, you get a full perspective of who they were.
I stopped listen to GL after this time because I realise how deep he was in the gospel coalition, Rick and Hillsong kind. Says a lot when someone sympathetic to worldly Christian’s in name only.

I have been wondering that myself. I always thought suicide would send a person to hell. Then I hear this.
I agree with you. I have struggled with suicidal thoughts and use to struggle with ongoing depression (and anxiety) as well. I started living for God, praying, worshipping, submitting my flesh daily, but it was difficult bc although God offered hope, depression would make me feel hopeless and like I didnt have purpose sometimes even hours or the day after spending time with God.
One day, it got so intense that I told God I was done and didnt want to do this anymore & was contemplating committing suicide bc the hopelessness and burden was soo heavy I preferred to leave this world.
I cried out to God, how could he let me struggle when I'm trying to live for him? I cried telling him to take this from me bc it was too much to bear. I started rebuking demons and spirits, I left with hope that day. The next few days it would come back, I was confused and started rebuking again and told God to take this from me, from that day God has healed me and I NO longer struggle with depression! I was depressed for about 10 years, Jesus came to set the captive and the depressed, those with anxiety free! We struggle bc of the fall of man. God was tempted, but he did not fall and bore those sins on the cross. We are FREE through him! God wants to heal all his children, but we need to trust him and speak through the authority he has given us! He showed me he wants to redeem all the years of pain for his children!! Cry out to God, cast your burdens unto him, show up for God in the way you live daily and watch God work. Be patient and God will answer! If he did it for me, he can do it for you too! @@christinaquiroz I would ask the Holy Spirit to reveal this to you because God doesn't want us to take our own life. It is a sad circumstance and a sad situation to hear and I grieve for his family, but I dont agree with their/this "pastors" teachings. God can set you free, see my msg above.

Thank you for saying that! It's sad that the Christian community will not heed to what the bible says about the taking of one's life, when one of our own does the act. If the subject person never attended church in his life, the Christian community would certainly refrain from saying the person went to heaven. The message we as Christians are obligated to spread is that which biblically sound.
I was thinking the same thing! I can't imagine why they are condoning the behavior versus rebuking it. Yes we have mercy and compassion on these individuals but Jesus says he has overcome the world and Pastor Greg is using verses in contexts that say nothing about suicide. How does his suicide help Christians and show Christians that they can trust in God. What did Jarrod lack in life. Was he born in a country where he was forced to eat from garbage cans or difficulties like that. He was blessed beyond most of our understanding and that wasn't enough. I just can't accept this video at all. May God have Mercy on all of us

@Connection Magazine totally agree with you, unfortunately pastor Greg is mixing up sin with the promise of heaven. It’s a very very sensitive topic but got to call them out when they’re wrong.

I want to clarify something for those who have commented that suicide cannot be forgiven because the person does not have time to repent and ask forgiveness:
Every believer on earth is in the same situation as Jared at the moment of death, in terms of sin and forgiveness.
Do we pretend to know when we will die?
If I am killed tomorrow in a car accident, will I have had time to confess every sin I will have committed between now and then?
If a person believes in Jesus, places their trust in Him, accepts His offer of salvation, and follows Him, are ALL of that person's sins forgiven?
Jesus died before any of us were born, so all of our sins were future sins, and He forgave them.
Just some food for thought.
I know he's in heaven too! The Lord gave me incredible peace about it! I wept when he died but God told me he was with him!

It’s not that it’s a pardonable or unpardonable sin, it’s just the biggest act of unbelief a human being can express. Can u be saved without faith? It’s too big of a risk I would say. I definitely wouldn’t preach he went to heaven.
Someone who is able to commit suicide is going against normal brain function. They are impaired and irrational. They can’t be held accountable. They are insane!!!! It’s not there fault

Why Greg Laurie sincerely disappointed me and I had recently admired his teaching on the word. Until he told his congregation that pastor Jared may have committed suicide but he was saved and he is in heaven so with no scripture to back that up. ? I took it as it's ok if were saved we will still go to heaven if we commit suicide 🤥 In my bible jesus is the healer of everything !!! And it is a sin to destroy what he created which includes our own lives. In Matthew 4:5-7 says satan tested jesus in the wilderness and in satan told jesus throw yourself off this mountain and the Angel's will lift you up and jesus answered back and said it is written you should not tempt the lord your God. So if committing suicide is ok and jesus being Gods son he could have jumped but obviously we are not to take our own lives. Well we are accountable for our own souls on judgment day I pray greg will check himself and ask his congregation to forgive him for compromising Gods Holy Bible 👍🏼🙏
Commiting suicide (in general murdering) is a sin like every other sin and Jesus died for that sin. Therefore its not necessary if you die while a sin because Jesus died for us first

Suicide is a most blasphemous sin to God. God gave humans two gifts: the gift of Life and the gift of free will.
Suicide is the ultimate perversion of these gifts, where the suicide uses his free will to destroy his own life.

Suicide is the heaviest of sins. It renounces trust and hope in God, as well as the possibility of repentance. It is the most unnatural thing a man can do. It betrays Christianity by its unwillingness to carry one's cross in life.

I love Jesus and obey the Word. I love the Word and am dedicated to God. But
I black out and cut my arms legs and chest. I have no memory of doing it and I for years have tried to be free. Answer altercalls read the word apply what I learn at church. I am still not healed yet but if I die I know God!!!
