Hello! We live in Japan with two Asian Small-Clawed Otters.
Kotaro: Male, DOB 11/10/2017
Kotaro has a scar on his tail from being bitten by another otter when he was still a baby.
Hana: Female, DOB 11/24/2018
They have been toilet trained; they use a special pad that is designed for small dogs.
Since I'm using a translation function, my sentences might come out strange.
Please provide me with corrections if anything is translated improperly.

They want dad to build them a.swimming pool like those zoo otters have.
I guess the zoo otters are used to completely ignore people and everything else outside of their cage. I think, I would, too.
Zoo otter1: "That's a funny-looking dog."
Zoo otter2: "Whatever."
Maybe they cannot smell the other otters. Our local zoo glassed in otters pretty much ignore everything outside, but the outdoor otters, tayra, badgers, and grison seem to like visitors that they can scent.
Looks like Kotaro was more into this adventure than Hana. So nice when Kotaro was surrounded by kids and he just calmly sat in the middle. I wonder what he was thinking when he faced the two dogs. Onto to the next adventure...
He was defiantly curious about the dogs, but same time didn't want them too close. That snort is otter sign he's mad, possibly going to bite if they got too close without his wanting it.

Probably more common in Asia, like seeing someone walking a ferret over here (my sister owned a couple but it’s still pretty rare). People usually don’t walk up to pet them, maybe they’re scared?
They were probably told off camera not to touch or bother the otters unless given the opportunity to interact with them.
Japanese people in general are far better mannered in public than in the west.
Kotaro wants to make friends🤗🤗🤗 with puppies, penguins, otter boys and otter girls. The world opened up for Kotaro, 😃he is very interested in everything and everyone 😀.

They definitely don't look like they go hungry.
Kotaro did well around all of those children🥰 I’m proud of him.
Ok this was heartbreaking... not to be "that" person. But the poor little things were running in circles they were completely disfunctional. You could tell they were HIGHLY stressed. They arent getting the HEALTHY enrichment that you give to Kataro and Hana. Your Otters are confident and healthy. Those otters acted like prisoners. And if i thought i was over reacting, you can see when the one otter runs up to the window, all the fur is rubbed from the muzzle and his/her nose is actually BLEEDING. The enclosure seemed relatively clean, but those animals were terribly stressed... im si glad Kataro and Hana found such good parents. Because that exibit was HEARTBREAKING....
I agree. That first concrete room and a little bowl was awful.
I thought the same thing and wanted to rescue them. I saw the otter with the bloody nose too. Breaking my heart. 🥺
Yeah, I couldn't watch this for very long. That zoo is miserable.
They look extremely restless and frustrated. The tank at 4:14 looks quite dirty to me. The water is green.
@Keaton Dye Considering the fence and doors of the enclosures they probably spend a majority of their time there... Those are for staff service.
Love the mating Otters: "Oh, they get along well"! Also: "They're still sleeping" - they looked like they'd died! Plus that Owl was thinking "mmmm, double lunch"!
