Never ever thought I would see/ hear 'Prelude and the Storm' played live on film. Thanks for posting. Brilliant. My only hope is one day someone will discover complete footage of Man performing' Spunk Rock' ar the Greasy Truckers gig. That would be more than incredible.
Glorious stuff. THE three bands never to miss in the early 70s were Man, Wishbone Ash and Hawkwind. Guaranteed keep a smile on your face and partial deafness for days - great times. The tune at 2:30 is one of middle sections of Spunk Rock as excelled on the Greasy Truckers album. Practically wore my copy out
Saw Man play live in the 70ts in The Netherlands where they were quite popular in "underground" scenes. Also saw Wishbone Ash live, Both concerts were an experience of a lifetime. I remember Man playing The Storm, that was the first time I heard someone doing a seagull on his guitar, fantastic and breathtaking. I am a 65 years old granny now, but I still love alternative music and rock music. Still see myself as a rock chick every now and than. 😉
@@DirkjeA Dirkje HI THERE!!!☺☺☺. We are both 65 year old grandparents... Yes re. seeing great bands 'Experiences last longer than Things'. I can't master seagulls on guitar despite trying. Neither can I whistle with two fingers in the mouth... always a useful skill for concerts.
When I was 19 I worked for Liberty United Artists Records. The releases included Man, Deke Leonard’s solo album, The Neutrons, Hawk wind, Dr Feelgood… and then the Stiff Records catalogue Brinkley Schwarz, Nick Lowe. This was on top of Shirley Bassey, Bing Crosby, Don McLean, Bobby Vee, the soundtracks to all the films.
thanks for the doc. I've got 2 Man Band live concerts from 1976 in San Francisco broadcast on KSAN-FM I plan to post up in the next few days. Was just talking to a friend about my live recordings and they came up.A great band that didn't get the notoriety they deserved.
Love Man their music is wicked had the fortune to know the guys and had some fantastic times with them shame a few have left us now but will never be forgotten 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Omstreeks juni 1970 heeft deze popgroep in Holland , Brielle de Zuid-Hollandse Eilanden op een zaterdag avond gespeeld in een oude sloepenloods. De organisatie was in handen van High and Dry.
Brilliant find, great to see more and more of this great band appearing on You tube. Does anyone have the '7 inches of Man' documentary from the early 70s
classic at around 0.35 when Martin's talking about peace in Germany - Mick's looking at him as if to say 'Oh God, here he goes again, what the fuck are you talking about, Martin'
Weiss jemand wo das genau ist in Heidelberg? great, fantastic document of the times. I have been living near Heidelberg for almost 60 years. At that time (1970) I was (unfortunately) only 8 years old. Are there people who took part in this memorable performance in Heidelberg at that time? Please share your memories !! Does anyone know where they parked their truck for the concert ? I have a guess, but I'm not sure. Does anyone know where that is exactly in Heidelberg?
I love MAN!My best Time today iRemamber allways!Hallo ist das im Wendland an der Elbe? The Storm is wunderful ncredibel! The Album too!Das Meine ich auch! Kämpfen für Freiheit!
Clint singing "Spunk Rock". Never seen that before. Disappointing turnout at the gig. Still, at least the harp player from Medicine Head took the time to check them out.
Wow....interesting to see such early footage of one of my favourite bands.....Who was the moaning bloke at the start though ? Not to mention the German monologue during the second half of this "Rare Documentary"....🖐🙄
The bloke being interviewed is Martin Ace. I've met him a few times and he's a very funny and eloquent bloke. This performance is possibly a combination of disinterest and marijuana.
Great stuff and would like to see more of the live footage
Ich habe die Band in den 80er - 90er Jahren oft live gesehen. Sie waren noch viel unterwegs und es war immer ein Genuss.
Simply my favourite band ever!
Managed to top up my collection with a lucky find on ebay. Damn i miss these guyz. Cymru am byth!!
After35 years of collecting records and taking psychedelics I conclude that Man are one of the best real psychedelic rock bands ever
Fantastic clip! I would be 13 in 1970 and just starting listen to them. Love this band, so many great memories.

Wow! Gold dust. We are in your debt, sir.
Great band, though the interview at the start sound a bit 'Spinal Tap'.
Where are you boys?
ChYU.
DüüL is here.......don't worry.......
The look on Micky Jones' face as Martin Ace is waffling on is just priceless.
😉 Spinal Tap, that movie and your remark made me cracking up from laughing. 😉
Solid Gold .....really.
