The trolley reminds of the trolleys that use to run in Galveston. All the rails are still there none of them are covered up and the trolley sit in a abandon garage looking all haunted

I rode the DART rail red line on 8/30/2010 from Galatyn Park in
Richardson to Dallas Union Station to catch the The Texas Eagle to
San Antonio in the thru coach to Los Angeles along with the thru sleeper to Los Angeles that is put on the Sunset Limited, I was
heading home to Loser City Tucson after helping my youngest
son move to Dallas. I rode the DART rail on 12/27/2010 when I
went to Viet the 6th. Floor museum. I drove to Parker Road station, parked there for the day, took DART rail to Union Station in
Downtown Dallas. Whenever I'm in the Dallas-Fort Worth area,
I use the DART rail when I travel there, it beats driving. My son
Uses it when he goes to the Dallas Mavericks basketball games,
goes downtown, he uses the DART rail when he goes to the Texas State fair.

Nice job of restoring the cars. They should try to find some Johnson fareboxes, though, since I believe that's what Dallas used. That Ohmer farebox is rather unique to just a few cities.

Not all US trains have to signal at crossings some do but some don't

Why is that the traditional term "motorman" for the operator of the car is forgotten?

Old profitable freight rail removed. New state of the art unprofitable passenger service installed. More semis on the roads with More people on the same roads. Oh yea, Agenda 21 sure is neat! They should have restored the trolley down most downtown streets. And put a commuter system next to the freight tracks. Sure would be nice to have most of those OTR trucks out of the way.

Have you ever been to Dallas there’s still multiple freight lines running most of the track DART uses was built new or put on tracks that have been abandoned for decades
I agree about trucks being an issue but that’s not the transit authorities fault

Go look around the Richardson Arapaho industrial park. Look around Carrollton up and down Denton rd. south of 635. Once upon a time back in the early 90’s on more than one occasion i saw two trains working that line from Dallas to Lewisville. They’d pass each other at a siding just south of Forest Ln. That’s a lot of business. Now it’s dead. And everyone hates i35. The red line from Dallas to Plano was still in service up to Richardson when Dart started building north in the mid 90’s to serve the industrial park. Everytime they’ve built a light rail line, service to many customers ends. Fart should look into providing freight service during the down time overnight to supplement their revenue losses.
