The holes on top allow the foam to breath. When you apply pressure to the foam it expells all the air in it, once you remove the pressure the holes allow it to reinflate sort of speak. Since the foam is thin it is hardly noticeable but it is happening. If the wholes were not there eventually the air in the foam would sip out through the leather and there would be close to zero padding on it since it wouldn't reinflate.

Been using these on a dense, hard bag and they’ve been surprisingly protective when punching at almost 100 percent(though I’m obviously being very careful when doing that).

I got the Pound 4 Pound Lomachenko limited edition version of these. I didn't expect much but wow they have become my favourite bag glove and the p4p version look amazing. I use them for 4 or 5 rounds on the heavy bag before moving on to my 16 oz for shoulder conditioning. These do run very big. I have a 16oz in the rs100 and the rs11v which are snug and I have a hand circumference of 9.25 inches and weight 95kg. Mediums fits me well and are snug with wraps. Hi, just an update on my RB5 P4P edition. I had to return these after about a months use as the stitching between the rear padding and thumb the seams have already split. The replacement are going to same way. I own loads of Rival gloves and the stitching on the synthetics, such as the Rs100, rs11v, and rs 1 2.0, are far better and have lasted ages. I'm going to check out the phenom bag mitt next instead.

I got a pair of this,
If you are want to become a boxer who can KNOCK OUT the people you definitely need to get a pair for yourself!!
Here's my review on this bag mitts:
I got winning 12 oz Velcro, I trained hard, I also fought some competition before, I know there's still much I can learn,
I can throw some fast punches in sparring, but hardly TKO or KO someone even just make my opponent got counted,
until I bought this bag mitt, I use it on our gym's heavy Muay Thai bag (which over 100KGS with sands inside)
and it do corrected my punches !! Snaping/angle/pushing the punches...
if you pushing your punches on the heavy bag with this gloves you will hurts your knuckles and wrist which also ripped your skin off,
after I train hard and fixed some of my problem on the punching, Now I am able to SNAP those heavy bag with my Winning 12oz gloves,
and I can absolutely feels my punching stronger than before!! even my coach and friends aware of that!!
I have Fairtex bag gloves and title bag gloves, I can tell you this bag mitt is totally different!!
this bag mitt are the BEST bag gloves I ever had LOL

Ya I wouldn't trust a gym with a policy like that. I train at a gym with belatore and glory contracted fighters, and you can see them as well as myself mixing in the use of bag mits with the heavy bag and pads.
They are a bit more advanced in that you need to have the sense to tone back the power and focus on proper technique, as you will feel improper technique with these in the form of pain or injury possibly.
Must be a toddlers gym you train at. Bag mits have been around forever and still have great use for training.
