    The fact that Taki is able to produce innovative products at a reasonable price is exceptional. His level of commitment is unprecedented.

      Yeah he is great, I would buy any FPGA device he makes.

      It’s really cool that he was able to get a DE-10 nano clone produced for the MiSTer project that sells for a much more reasonable price, gamers don’t typically needs a board that’s built for industrial applications, let’s just hope more compatible products like a passive case hits the market and that they can ramp up production to meet demand

    This guy is more transparent than even the original MiSTeR people. :P
    I am waiting to see his next moves.
    Maybe MiSTeR2 will come from him after all.

    i was one of the guys that got rma ram...was running only 120-122mhz and now works on advertized speed :) im very happy with my misterpi and cant wait to buy a second one :)

    I have the RAM issue with the qmtech board. Taki talking about having different results with different de-10 boards sounds like the issue begins with the de-10 chip and it's connection to the gpio.
    My seller wants to send me a third RAM module, but the two modules I got look pretty good under a 120x magnification Microscope.

      in your case that might be a good thing by that time the replay2 fpga will be out its a bigger fpga chip and all the mister cores will be on there . the de10 is a very old fpga chip the replay2 is using the Agilex5 fpga chip cutting edge stuff . The only thing worth getting from taki is the handheld by the end of this month guessing here but people should be seeing the first protype of the replay2

    Still pretty bad if you get a module that only works with a specific board. If you want to move the memory to another mister unit, sell it or do something else with it in the future, it might not work. Or lets say, that you buy it with one module and then want to add another one later. The new one might not work with your board.
    Even if they fix the problem, by sending a new one, it is still a hassle.

    • @urdnal
      @urdnal Месяц назад +3

      I don't think it's a case of it only works with a specific board, I think it's more like the ram _might_ not reach the advertised speed with another board. Honestly, I think the issue is somewhat overblown.

    6k mister units is nothing for a world wide demand. Taki lost so much money because of that. I wish he learned a lesson from this. Produting a large amount will descrease the price also.

    Sounds like this guy Taki is just doing the blaming game. The proper management of supply chain is ultimately the responsibility of Retro Remake who is manufacturing the finished product. I bet he will just keep on blaming in future batches as well.

      @@etvow ? Not sure how much better he could do than a totally additional round of QA testing in house and working constantly with the manufacturers to remediate the issues while also providing very good solutions to his customers. What more are you expecting?
      How exactly is he playing a "blame game"?
