Good reaction. I suspect if anybody said your face would be melted they were just messing with you - they have songs where that is a lot more likely of course. Maybe they thought your face would melt with tears if you noticed the expression on Su's face.
This song is inspired by and pays homage to X Japan's classic 'Endless Rain'.
Legend S was celebrating Su-metal's 20th birthday back in her home town Hiroshima for the first time with BABYMETAL. There was a kamishibai (short introductory video) right before this song that referenced the bombing of Hiroshima (a subject very close to Su's heart as a native of Hiroshima) and the black acid rain that followed and turned the whole sky black.
This was Kami Band guitarist Mikio Fujioka's (RIP) very last performance with BABYMETAL before his tragic accident. It can be no coincidence in the editing of this video that as Su sings the line "I want to not forget you for ever" that the camera focuses briefly on Mikio.

And this song was written at a time when Japan was still mourning the loss of so many people in a massive earthquake and tsunami. In fact, I was healed by this song. It gave me a positive feeling to remember the many lives lost, but to live with hope.

This is by far the best version of this song. One of Su's most emotionally powerful performances.

Hearing her voice slightly cracking, the moist look in her eyes, and the blue lights makes you feel the sadness in the song, but when the light turns red, you can see the change in the look of her eyes and the Queen is back. Totally awesome performance.🤘🦊🤘

    Nice one, thanks!
Well, I'm used to thrash and death metal but also to classical music and I'm a sucker for this song (and this particular performance). To me, music has to tell me something, it can be something aggressive or something beautiful. And this one is so beautiful.
I've always said that Su-metal has the ability to convey the emotions like no other. Her movements, her facial expression the way she uses her powerful voice... she totally has my attention. Not to mention her versatility which I believe is her most distinctive trait. Am I biassed? Probably yes. And I'm good with it.
And this is a pretty rare song. Well, to be fair the correct term is statistically odd. They first performed it live in 2013 and they only performed it seven times (including two back to back concerts) till date. Apparently Su wasn't happy with her performance while singing it since she was more focused on hitting the right notes rather than expressing the emotions. And then THIS happened on the Legend S concerts, while they were on a really hard time... and she killed it. Hands down!
    Until next time!

Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。 We are moved by this song because we are human beings. I am Japanese but my nationality and literacy do not have distinct advantages to feel the emotion stirred by Su-Metal and Kamis. Su's voice and Kami's guitars resonates with the bones in my whole body.
This was filmed in 2017 and Su revived this song in the two last shows of 10 BABYMETAL Budokan last year with more matured voice. As an eyewitness of both shows at the venue, I can tell you that it was literally heartbreaking and made me forget to breathe. This 2017 version video, however, may be still the best performance although BM always say "the latest is the best". It may be so because of Mikio's last appearance with Su. 😢

Konbanwa. Probably my favorite performance with Shine a rival. Of course I love everything they perform. I guess I’m a sucker for emotional songs. That’s probably why I like Electric Blues, which we did not hear. A good example is Miyako’s guitar. That’s just a side note.

    ⚡ / ☂️ 🌈
The December 2nd and 3rd 2017 'LEGEND S - BAPTISM XX' concerts were Mikio Fujioka's last appearance with BABYMETAL.
They have a close-up on him during this part:
"Nidoto ae-nai kedo, wasure-naide itai yo."
(We shall never meet again, but I want not to forget you forever.)
Mikio passed away on January 5th, 2018, before the official video for this song was released.
That was about a month after this performance.
As far as what Su was thinking when she sang this song, that's hard to know.
Yui was supposed to perform at this concert, but at the last minute was unable to appear because of unspecified health reasons.
The introduction just before this song poetically refers to the bombing of Hiroshima, Su's home prefecture, and the location of these two concerts.
    DESPAIR 『絶望』
    "The bright beam of light
That wiped all light from the world
Also ceased people's light of hope
    The skies turned dark
And endless rain fell upon the people
Who had lost all of their light and hope
    But endless rain doesn't exist
And the people hope of black skies to clear out
So the heavens can restore the light that had been lost
They hope to discover that there's happiness at the end of sorrow
And they pray for light of hope to return to them."
(This intro was added for these two concerts. That doesn't mean the song was originally written to be about the bombing, just that they were drawing a connection for these two special shows in Su's home prefecture of Hiroshima.)
The last line of this song is:
"An endless rain fills my heart… forever."
That's considered to be a reference to the X-Japan song 'Endless Rain'.
BABYMETAL are huge fans of X-Japan, the hugely influential Visual Kei/Metal band.
