We have built floating docks before. There are pluses and minuses to both styles. For the way we will use it we are going to build it like a pier. Most years our pond level won’t fluctuate too much.
Sounds like you have a few good plans upcoming. I do have a question though if i may. Would it be better if you would plow that very dry field now before winter and turn the dry foliage under which even though dead ? So could it help compost the ground or is my thinking far fetched ?
I’ll probably do that in the spring before planting warm season annuals. Our winters are normally very wet, and do not freeze. So I don’t want to do anything to promote mud. By spring there should be plenty manure and hay to turn under.
1. Winter plan for cows
2. Armadillo control
3. Crawfish/duck pond
4. Pond/pier build
Excellent 👍
Could you build a dock and put plastic barrels under it and float it? would make it lighter plus it would always be at the right height.
